11/10 a good doggo posing for his hooman’s insta
Yall forgot the final product.
“I always have such need to merely talk to you. Even when I have nothing to talk about — with you I just seem to go right ahead and sort of invent it. I invent it for you. Because I never seem to run out of tenderness for you and because I need to feel you near. Excuse the bad writing and excuse the emotional overflow. What I mean to say, perhaps, is that, in a way, I am never empty of you; not for a moment, an instant, a single second.”
— Virginia Woolf, from a letter to Vita Sackville-West (via mediocremediocrity)
Oh my God! 😭 You dropped this queen 👑
To think I thought I knew what ethereal beauty was before now. Laughable.
she’s so beautiful i had to include a few more photos
He's right and he's also living his dream... Truly the man is an icon. 👏🏽🥺
Update: Elmo retweeted!!! And he added something too
Never forget that sesame street was made for children in urban city areas who's parents couldn't afford preK in order to help bridge the knowledge gap.
26-year-old Jamarion Robinson’s grandmother Beverly Nixon said her grandson was bipolar and schizophrenic. Still got shot 76 (!!!) times. Would a white person get the same treatment?
The witness said he saw more than a dozen patrol cars at the complex where US Marshals killed Robinson on August 5, 2016. Why were there no behavioral specialist? Surely one of them would know how to interact with a bipolar schizophrenic better than the police.
I’m absolutely disgusted.
Here’s Jamarion’s mother’s GoFundMe in case anyone is willing to help.

Oh god ..
this is how much they’ve raised as of June 26th, 2020.
I feel like this is pretty important to realize: the cops are becoming exhausted, and there’s a limited supply of them. NYPD has every cop on duty working full days every day. We have an unlimited capacity to rotate in fresh fighters that they simply do not have. We can take shifts. They can’t.
This is also why we’re starting to see bare minimum concessions now. The powers that be have realized they’ve made a grave miscalculation. A week into it, and ideas that seemed utterly impossible even a month ago are on the table- LA is talking about a hundred and fifty million dollar budget cut for the LAPD, every cop directly involved in George Floyd’s murder has been arrested and Chauvin’s charge has been raised to second degree murder, parts of the Minneapolis city council is pushing to permanently disband the Minneapolis police department.
What could we win with two weeks? Three? An organized general strike that brings the entire economy to a crashing halt? It is difficult to feel hopeful in such brutal times, but there is profound hope to be had in the realization that a week of getting our asses kicked has advanced the mainstream narrative around police so much further than electoralism would’ve dared to dream in 100 years.
They know how much power we have
Do we?
The only decent way to use white privilege
[ID: Five screenshots of a Twitter thread from sharpegirl that reads: A few months ago, I put myself between a man of color and two police officers who were harassing him. I was able to do this calmly and automatically because my mother trained me how to do it and I’ve spent years thinking about how to react if I had to use my whiteness this way.
The first thing I did: I pulled out my phone. I made sure the officers SAW me pull out my phone. I made sure they saw me turn on the voice recording.
The next thing: I calmly but firmly contradicted the officers. They insisted that they had gotten a call saying that this man was following people trying to get them to sign petitions. I told them I had been there for a half hour and he had not done anything of the sort.
The officers then tried to get me to be quiet. I said that I would be quiet, but that their reports were wrong, they were not listening to an eyewitness, and I was not moving from this spot until they left this man alone.
I then made a VERY BIG SHOW of taking down these officers name and badge numbers on my phone. I made sure the one next to me could see that I had texted this information to someone (my mom). I’m talking craning my neck to look at their badges, tilting my phone to show the screen.
Then, I just fixed the one across with me with a stare. The bitchiest, don’t fuck with me, I’m a femme white lady stare I could summon. And I did not stop staring or move from the spot until they left. And they did leave.
And then I gave the guy my phone number just in case and I called activist friends up in the community and made sure people were in the parking lot in case the cops came back so he could continue his petition work in peace.
You’ve got to be prepared. Keep your phone charged and in easy access. Know where your recording apps are. Who will you text badge numbers to so there’s a record? Go through it in your head until it feels as natural as holding your keys between your fingers in a parking lot.
This is the work we must do. Those officers never would’ve touched me. I was never in danger for a moment. Use the enormous privilege you have for good if a time come where you need to step up and be an actual shield.
And a final thing, remember: this is not about YOUR anger. Your anger has no place here. Your job is to be calm and never escalate a situation the officers are looking for a chance to escalate. Because you won’t be the one they will escalate on. The person of color will be.
Your job is to remind the officers that white ladies can be a damn nuisance. And a lot of paperwork. And what if this one is related to somebody important? What if this one writes letters to the editor? She’s texting someone my badge number, is this really worth it?

For anyone who needs to know how to act
There was an arrest across the street from my place in Oakland one day – three cop cars with a bullhorn and guns out – and before I could even get out the gate there were a couple people posted up and one of them was filming and another one was narrating in a calm but very loud voice, just
“HE IS COOPERATING! HIS HANDS ARE EMPTY! HE IS DOING WHAT HE IS TOLD TO DO! HE IS HOLDING STILL! HIS HANDS ARE EMPTY! HE IS NOT BEING THREATENING! HE HAS PUT HIS HANDS BEHIND HIS HEAD AS ASKED! HE IS NOT RESISTING!”
and that was something I hadn’t thought to do before. It certainly let the cops know what the narrative of eye witnesses was going to be.
I especially liked “his hands are empty” because this statement would still be true and a witnessed reason the police should not become violent even if it turned out he had a weapon on his person somewhere.
I see people in NYC stop and record a lot. Even if they are just being nosey, that’s still witnesses if shit goes down.
We are watching.

The first time I read about this story, I bawled my eyes out.
Now, what seems like the 100th time I’ve read about this story, I am still bawling my eyes out.
This breaks my heart. Look at how gentle he was? The light and joy in his eyes. He deserved to live. He deserved more.
I don’t have a ton of cash right now, but I just had to donate. If you can, please do the same .
Most of the medical research was done on white males and their response to medicine. This is why medical books should only serve as a framework but clinical expertise matters more.
And this is why we need more black doctors.
There is a great instagram called Brown Skin Matters that has certified photos of different rashes and skin conditions. I find this VERY helpful. I just recently stumbled on it and it’s a nice, quick, resource.
This is what they mean when they say we’re killing people of color. Our healthcare system caters to white skin. And it needs to change.
EVERY WORD HERE 👆🏼👆🏼👆🏼 IS TRUE. YOU ARE THAT FROG.
I too have no space to worry about USA, already very worried about Poland and Ecuador, thank goodness Canada is still somehow holding up, but I’m horrified how far you let it go. FIX IT NOW or you’ll be sorry - truer words were never spoken.
Problem is we've made educating yourself a crime.
