The Plot for the day is...
Jack Plot 271: Samu-RaiJack
Raimundo is a swordsman, a very good one at that. trained all his life to defeat the evil monster who'd taken over the world, Jack Spicer.
Mentored by the once immortal and undefeated Chase Young, Jack had gotten a big head and killed off the dragonlord and took over, making himself immortal in the process. Raimundo is finally strong enough his village elder believes he is ready and gives him a legendary weapon, the sword of the storm(patent pending). Taking this weapon (foretold to be wielded by Spicer's conquerer) Rai heads for Jack's palace and the fight begins. Rai's almost shocked at how easy this fight is, but attributes it to the sword and doesn't think more on it
Being a genius, and easily able to see he’s gonna get killed if this goes on any longer, Jack tears open a portal in time and flings Rai into the future. Now unopposed, Jack continues his world domination until everyone is under his rule whether they like it or not. The world advances and grows under his scientific genius guidance.
1500 years in the future, Rai falls out of the portal and is future shocked by all the changes. Not knowing up from down he tries to continue his quest to kill Jack, but as he journeys not really sure where he is or what anything is, he meets and interacts with a wide variety of peoples. Learning he’s also got a bounty on his head. Jack wasn’t taking any chances.
Despite how smoothly things seemed to be running, Raimundo made himself focus on the negatives behind Jack’s ruling the world. Freedom was a foreign concept! Everything was regulated by the government. Everything was robotic and surveillance was everywhere. The only way he could escape detection was by smashing robots and even then that would bring more bots to his location to find the trouble maker who broke the first one.
Still despite all Jack's precautions, Rai found the palace thanks to a tiny group of resistance calling themselves the Heylin. And they managed to sneak him into the new palace. It seems once again almost.. TOO easy… Before that thought can completely process Rai finds himself tied up and his sword far far away. Ends up, the Heylin group were actually working with Jack all along and had lead Raimundo into a trap. Jack laughs and mocks Rai for falling for something so obvious before sending his employees out of the room. It’s just him and Raimundo now. Rai starts yelling threats at Jack about if he died someone else would rise to oppose him! And Jack snaps at him to cram a sock in it. “You don’t know a damn thing!” Jack monologues about his side of things.
A young street urchin, Jack had always been exposed to the worst the world had to offer. When he met Chase Young it had been by chance and despite Jack looking up to the man for his self earned greatness, Chase had completely loathed him. Many times Chase had attempted to kill or otherwise do away with Jack, but Jack was as much an insect as Chase liked to insult him of being and never quit.
Deciding the only way to get anywhere would be to show the man he could be strong on his own, Jack stole one of the many ancient artifacts from the Xiaolin Temple, a temple Raimundo was very familiar with as his village surrounded it. Presenting the trinket to Chase, Jack received more scorn for thinking a silly toy could ever impress a lord of his standing. Finally snapping after years of scorn and abuse from Chase and the rest of humanity, Jack turned the item on Chase, The Sphere of Yun, and claimed the lord's powers for his own.
At first the powersurge and sudden addition of demonic energies which Chase had learned long ago to manage, Jack lost himself and obliterated the Capitol where Chase’s luxurious home had resided. Taking this as an act of War, the populous attacked. Jack slowly getting a hold of himself found he was now stuck with the option of defend or die. Chase, still locked in the Yun Sphere, found it all hilarious and continued mocking Jack.
Jack ended up defeating the militia and all the following armies as well. But every victory was lackluster as he still had to return to Chase’s insults and laughter at his debacle. Eventually Jack locked Chase away. The same day he did so, Raimundo had attacked. In between attacks, Jack had been experimenting with Chase’s powers and found he could travel through time though only for short periods. He’d learned of the advanced technological progress in the future and became infatuated with it, using Chase’s magics to temper metals so he could attempt to create his own. It was one of these prototypes, a conglomeration of magic and machine that he used as his final ace in the hole to stop Rai from killing him then and there.
Since then, Jack had defeated every army who’d tried to stop him and thus ended up ruler of the world. At first he thought about using this power to do to humanity what they had done to him! But that wasn’t as fun as he’d thought it would be. Especially after a chance encounter with another street urchin named Sim who looked up to him just as he’d looked up to Chase. At that encounter Jack realized he didn’t WANT to be an ass like Chase Young. Jack began IMPROVING the world. Advancing his mechanics and becoming a master of the field. Until he realized the future he’d seen full of robots and mechanical wonders had been the future of his own creation! /HE/ had done that! Sure, everything was government monitored, how else would he know when shit was going on? Or what was needed in the world? So what if people weren’t free to choose their own leaders or laws. People were idiots and would often go out of their way to hurt others who were different and who needs that noise?
Rai just sort of blinks at this story. It couldn’t be true right? Jack’s as evil as they come! The world WAS held hostage but.. He had to admit everything was far better than in his time. Food and water could always be obtained by anyone. Violence was down. People were nicer, seemed happier! After all they weren’t worried about where or if they’d get their next meal or where they’d sleep for the night. Seeing the slow dawning realization on Rai’s face, Jack unties him with a snap and hands him the sword of the storm. “You want me dead, kill me.”
Decisions, decisions… Rai lunges forward and Jack manages not to shriek. But nothing happens. Rai had purposely missed. “Shit! Don’t DO that!” Rai laughs at Jack’s expense and says he’ll not kill Jack YET, but he’s gonna be hanging around to keep Jack in check.
Rai spends his time working with Jack to gradually eliminate the "big brother" state of the world, for the sake of humanity. Jack is a control freak though so it's slow going, but he's still able to be reasoned with at least.
Also consider...
We've forgotten about Chase by this point. Jack knows he's there all the time in the back of his head, but doesn't think about him very often aside from that. So what if, Chase manages to escape the bubble while Rai is staying at the palace. Jacks taken down all the wanted alerts since Rai's been found and is now AT the palace as a sort of guest
But Jack's been using Chase's powers all this time, and they're kinda unique so Chase decides to fuck with him as revenge. Suddenly it looks like Jack is doing all kinds of evil shit any time Rai is out of the room. And Jack doesn't know what's going on cause /HE/ sure ain't doing this stuff! Why would HE wreck his own bots??
