Your Breath is your most powerful tool
We each have the opportunity to create the positive change we want in our lives. So often it can seem out of reach, and it matters very little if what you are working towards is just beyond the tip of your fingers or not even visible at all - it’s out of reach. As humans-beings of light, our greatest power is in our subtlety, our breath and our thoughts. How we breathe creates the rhythm and content of our thoughts, what we think creates our words and our actions. These actions create the life we live. To create the quickest and most lasting change we go to where it all begins, our breath. Through Pranayam - the mindful awareness of breath, we are able to rewire the brain, releasing the old patterns, traumas and dramas from the past that are creating our current challenges. We are then free to be the Compassionate Architect of our own life, creating the life you came here to live, Healthy, Happy and Whole!
Practice this pranayam 1 minute breath for 3-11 minutes each day for 40 days and see what happens in your life…
To start come sitting on the floor in a cross legged position (or any position of ease) with a straight spine, bring your palms pressed together right at the level of the heart center with your thumbs resting at the sternum. Let your eyes close, focus above and between the brows.
Tune in to yourself by chanting or being still for a few moments.
Now let your hands rest on the knees with the palms up and the index finger pressed to the thumb in Gian Mudra.
Inhale for 20 seconds, Suspend (hold) the breath for 20 seconds, and Exhale for 20 second.
Continue repeating this breath pattern 3-11 times
To finish Inhale, hold the breath in for a few seconds while you squish and condense every cell of your body, then release as you exhale. Repeat this 2 more times.
When you first start 20 seconds can feel much longer than you think, be patient with yourself, do the slowest Inhale, longest hold, and slowest Exhale that you are able. Keep a journal during the 40 days, you can write as little as 1 word or as much as you like. At the end of the 40 days read your journal and see what is different in your life.
