something Deeply wrong with me. i recognized this vendor at the market's malachites as coming from a specific mountain 😭
not seeing a lot of people on here talking about ICE murdering another man yesterday. His name was Lorenzo Salgado Arajou. He was a Mexican man living in Huston Texas. He was killed at age 52 and lived the past 35 years here in the USA, and was in the process of obtaining a work permit. He was shot and killed during a traffic stop that ICE claims was part of a targeted operation, and claimed he was “weaponizing his vehicle”- the same claim ICE agents made when they shot and murdered Renee Good.
During the stop, Lorenzo had 3 coworkers with him in his truck who have all been taken into ICE custody.
His family described Lorenzo as a hardworking family man who didn’t deserve to be killed. All he wanted was to provide for his wife and see his sons become great people. His eldest son recognized his father by his cries and pleas when trying to identify who the victim was.
The Salgado Araujo family has set up a gofundme to help with funeral and legal costs, and to help keep their family supported since Lorenzo was the sole provider.
On the morning of July 7, 2026, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was ta… LULAC Institute, Inc. needs your support for In Loving Memory of Lorenzo Salg
SADLY, MY FATHER, AHMED, HAS PASSED AWAY. THESE MAY BE THE FIRST WORDS YOU READ FROM ME TOMORROW.
Tonight, he was admitted to intensive care after losing his ability to resist, and he is now alive thanks to machines. I will not forgive anyone who sees this post and does not support me with a single word and ignores me.
The doctors told me his condition has become extremely critical, and without immediate treatment, he may not survive another night, so so I ask, can you help me get treatment for my father Ahmed??
As a young man suffering in Gaza, I appeal to you. I see my father in agony before my eyes, and I am powerless to stop his pain or help him. Donate now and help me save his life before it's too late.
I am standing outside the ICU, waiting for any sign that he is still fighting, but every second feels like a goodbye I am not ready for. Please donate now and help me save my father Ahmed
Please, please consider helping Nader and his family.
we noticed the position its actual limbs were in and spent a few minutes aggressively squatting at each other with our arms out

long overdue lvl 80 update (she's been level 80 for ages i just forgot it would be funny to do this with her little outfit and little glasses)
i agree so much about making your blorbos pathetic but i do fear that many take this to mean 'make them more traditionally feminine/submissive' which genuinely hurts my soul. make your blorbos pathetic in interesting character-oriented ways. understand their neuroses and turn the dials up to eleven. juxtapose the parts of life they handle extremely well with the parts of their lives that make them eat shit. make them angry. make them cold. make them pave their own way to hell while building walls preventing them from seeing any other way. please i'm begging you no more pathetic as an euphemism for bottoming im gonna mclose it.

Please have a moment of silence for the people who were killed instead of freed when news of emancipation finally reached the furthest corners of the american south.
have another moment for the ledgers, catalogs, and records that were burned and the homes that were destroyed to hide the presence of very much alive and still enslaved people on dozens of plantations and homesteads across the south for decades after emancipation.
and have a third moment for those who were hunted and killed while fleeing the south to find safety across the border, overseas, in the north and to the west.
black people. light a candle, write a note to those who have passed telling them what you have achieved in spite of the racist and intolerant conditions of this world, feel the warmth of the flame under your hand, say a prayer of rememberance if you are religious, place the note under the candle, and then blow it out.
if you have children, sit them down and tell them anything you know about the life of oldest black person you've ever met. it doesn't have to be your own family. tell them what you know about what life was like for us in the days, years, decades after emancipation. if you don't know much, look it up and learn about it together.
This is Juneteenth.

This nest could produce Northern California’s first wild condor chick in about 130 years, a huge step for a species once nearly wiped out.
A Wild Condor Egg May Have Appeared in California for the First Time in 130 Years
The Yurok Tribe is California’s largest native tribe. The tribe’s biologists, who have been tracking the condor, believe a wild condor pair nesting in Redwood National and State Parks may produce the first chick born and raised in the region in around 130 years. To be clear, they haven’t seen the egg with their own eyes just yet, but all the behavior exhibited by the condor fits the pattern of nesting. The male and female take turns staying in a nest far away from the reach of predators while the other leaves to feed...
