Actually, beekeepers take many precautions to keep their bees from leaving.

many clip the wings of the queen, destroy new queen cells, cull queens they don't like and use bee pheromones to prevent a hive from naturally swarming or absconding. They also try and prevent mating with the African honey bee, which makes them less docile among other things. During artificial insemination of queens, drones are crushed and „spare“ queens are killed.

and commercial beekeepers even cull their hives during winter, or when they are not producing well.

Coupled with the fact that there is evidence that insects do feel pain, this is not great.

(Not to mention that honeybees are an invasive species in most places, competing with native pollinators and spreading disease)

The pointlessness devil. If there's something I find frightening, it's the idea that no matter what you do, it won't matter. You won't move forward. You can't help anyone. Nothing you do will be remembered or change anything. Fate is set in stone, and it doesn't even matter how you feel about that, because you're destined to do nothing of importance in your whole life. A pointlessness devil would pretty much be invincible.

Eternal Flame Falls sounds like the coolest concept for a fantasy book. A path you follow down into a ravine until you find an ever-burning flame inside of a waterfall? That’s fuckin metal! But it’s not in a fantasy book it’s like an hour away from my house I can literally go see it any time! I remember it like once a month and lose my shit over it every time

It’s called Eternal Flame Falls, in Orchard Park in western New York. 400 feet below the surface is a 400-million-year old shale formation that contains natural gas, and the grotto contains a leak where that gas is escaping.  The flame can and does go out, but the gas can be re-lit with a lighter like a gas stove. It’s super, super cool from both an aesthetic and a geologic perspective!

Also just out of the blue, unprompted, talking about you not wanting to have sex with someone, is pretty rude and if you're bringing that up like that to that person when they haven't asked, its honestly a form of harassment.

Imagine, (and this may have happened to you before so think of how that felt) having someone, loudly and unprompted, talking about how they find you, personally unattractive and don't want to fuck you. You never asked, you have made no indication you want anything to do with them sexually, and yet they just keep talking about it, then say you are harrassing *them* when you tell them to shut up.

Now, not finding you attractive is well within their rights, but they're being incredibly rude and hurtful to say that to your face without any reason to.

Idk, as a cis queer person who also has a lot of other aspects of my identity such as being mixed race and disabled that some people take issue with, who has been on the same recieving end of strangers not shutting up about disliking your body for one reason or another when you're just trying to survive, and having to take the constant harassment on the chin and deal with it constany chipping away of self esteem just for daring to *exist*; I agree that it does get to a point where you're just being transphobic. (Or in the cases of myself, ableist or racist)

You are not required to find anyone attractive. You however *ARE* required to treat people with some basic level of human respect.

Knight Aether ✨complete✨

GODDAMN it took a hell of a hustle (and several very nasty burns) but older/Knighted Aether is finally ready for his reveal 💃 🪩  I think this is one of the most complex armors i’ve made to date. Everything was crazy involved from having to dye fabric, wefting+adding lights to the wig, patterning the armor, wrapping the armor, planning/rigging the lights and then just getting the dang thing on. I am completely and utterly exhausted from working on this beast but HE’S HERE

i wanted to bump this 50% just to share it again, and 50% because for reasons unbenounced to me in the past 72 hours genshin stans have been roasting this cosplay like a rack of ribs but their attempted critiques are genuinely funny to me so here’s a brief list:

1) getting EXTREMELY angry because i added flowers to the wig (like seriously what even in the world) 

2) getting angry because i made aether’s boots taller 

3) getting angry because i made a non-canon design 

4) getting angry because of my jawline

5) getting angry because they think i shouldve cosplayed lumine instead based on what they assume my gender is (big swing and a miss there bud) 

6) getting angry that i’m wearing heeled shoes

7) getting angry that this costume cant be bought 

8) getting angry because they think im a man cosplaying a woman, and a bonus getting angry because they think im a woman cosplaying a man 

9) getting angry that i cosplayed from genshin at all 

just to name a few, but so far no one has gotten mad about the very obvious thing which is that im not even using an actual genshin impact sword, i’m using Alfonse’s sword from FEH.
