Wow that is very similar to a problem in my life except not as bad and I am stronger
There's a strong epic-political undertow to the Black family chapters of Brave Face that feels like it was written by somebody who has spent serious time in the Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon world. Spend all the time you need there. Become a HOTD blog for as long as you want. It gives your writing in the HP world a instantly recognizable flavor. The Regulus chapters especially.

the thing about heavy handed symbolism is that sometimes. it's fun.
wow
zoe do you have any book recommendations im starving
hi anon! i've been a "classics" mood recently.
yes. i recently have been spending some time in TS Eliot's The Waste Land And Other Poems. An enchanting, haunting, foggy collection of elegiac poems that are equally awe-inspiring and sparse, or perhaps more inspiring for how sparse they are. i am so glad I stole this book from someone's house (i shall return it. perhaps.)
i finally also bit the bullet and read The Body Keeps The Score. yes, it's as good as everyone says. yes, it took me months to read because it was very difficult to read--not in terms of the writing style or the way it approached the science or the subject matter, but because it prompted intense, usable, and staggering self-reflection. one of the best and most helpful books i've ever read. this book has done more for me than years of therapy, i'm not even exaggerating. read it, even if you don't have "Trauma".
gonna also rec u the book i based my blog theme on, for those unfamiliar. The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf is one of those books that end up being A Favourite For Life. literally one of my favourite books of all time. it's a picture book, but it's such a profound little story that i still have the copy from my childhood (a first printing, thanks to it being passed down and down. but we lost the dust jacket somewhere along the way smh. it's still worth a lot. we will never sell her.) it was banned in Nazi Germany and Spain under Francisco Franco for being "degenerate democratic propaganda". if you are in the mood for some degenerate democratic propaganda, read this book!!! <3
is it bad form to say i've been wanting to do a POA re-read? like, from my old childhood copy before we knew better than to give jkr money.
last but not least (and not a classic), i'm currently picking my way through Half His Age, Jennette McCurdy's fiction debut. Not as propulsive as her memoir, but her voice still stands out to me so sharply and I still love it & her style. Would recommend if you like wry, dark, self-consciously intellectual humour.
ai could simply never create a body of fanfictional work that is so revealing about the author that it borders on humiliating.
