Writing the dramatic death scene
In your head:
In paper:
this made me laugh so hard because itās so accurate.
ok so thereās a game me and my friends play called ādonāt get me startedā and basically someone gives another person a random topic and they have to go on an angry rant about it and itās the best thing thatās ever happened to us at parties and car rides so I highly recommend playing sometimes with your friends
I love this idea. We used to do things like this in Improv.
Related game: āTHINK ABOUT IT.ā Youāre given a random topic, and your job is to build it into an epic conspiracy theory, the crazier the better. You end your rant with a serious face and the command that your listeners āThink about it.āĀ
Another related game: Illuninati. Similar to Think About It except you are given 2 completely different topics and you have to connect them to each other in a wild conspiracy rant
Rb to safe an awkward hang out
āyou canāt make a lawful good character interesting and enjoyableā:
You are a very boring person by all standards, with absolutely no qualities that are not average. You wake up one morning surrounded by tiny people who appear to have summoned you and refer to you as "The Great One".
Millennials should really rediscover MASH en masse. Itās dead on aesthetic for this generation.
Please rediscover M*A*S*H fellow millennials. Itās wonderful.
Youāve never experienced sarcasm and rebellion against the System like Hawkeye and Trapper and BJās sarcasm and rebellion against the System.

so heres a thing my mother always said to me growing up when i broke something on accident that i think is really important
and i know, from watching my friends and seeing their panic and terror when something broke, that not only were not nearly enough children told this thing, many children were punished in place of being reassured
and thats heartbreaking
so heres the words from my mom that i was always told, and theyre the same words that anyone who never got to hear them should hear now, courtesy of my mom, who has repeated those same words to many a friend of mine and now to you
if i ever broke anything, the first words out of her mouth would always be and have always been,Ā āare you hurt?āĀ
i would say no
she would say,Ā āthats okay, thenā
and i would ask why
and she would sayĀ ābecause it was just a thing- even if its a nice thing, or an old thing, or an expensive thing, its still just a thing. it can be replaced, or we can live without it. there is only one you. there will only ever be one you. you will always be more important than just some thing.āĀ
I lend out a collection to fossils to my schoolās 8th grade science teachers annually. Iāve collected since I was a kid, added more as an adult from yard sales and donations. I want kids to be inspired and intrigued. About my 5th year at my school, the teacher came to me with one of her students. The girl looked upset and sort of scared. The teacher explained that the girlās hand had slipped and a Megaladon Sharkās tooth had broken into two pieces. My first response was to make sure she hadnāt been cut by one of the pieces, and she shook her head, tears in her eyes. I smiled at her and pointed out that she hadnāt dropped it on purpose, that the ridiculously big tooth had been fossilized and survived this long, and it would still be amazing if I had to either keep it in two pieces or superglue it.
It bothered me a lot that the kid was clearly primed by a lot of adults to deal with anger and blame when a simple mistake was made. I offered her a hug, which she accepted and finally laughed.
Story time:Ā
My grandmother owns crystal bowls that have been passed down to her from her grandmother. Being a family with Jewish heritage in Austria, every single piece of family history we own is basically a treasure in itself. I was already an adult when she allowed me to take one of them home with me, of course only after I swore several oaths to keep it safe. I can go months and years without breaking a single dish, but lo and behold, it takes two weeks and a split second of not paying attention, and suddenly that crystal bowl, thatās worth more to my grandmother than the entire rest of her furniture, goes flying and shatters into a million pieces. I swear I watched for what felt like an hour as that thing dropped, turned around itself and finally crashed in a spectacular impact. Anyway, itās completely beyond repair, and Iām freaking out because my grandmother will murder me. Only, she will not, because even worse, sheās going to be fucking heartbroken and so, so disappointed with me she wonāt even find it within herself to murder me. But, you gotta do what you gotta do - not being able to face her while confessing, I call her, in tears, apologizing a hundred times before she finally goes:Ā āGigi, calm down now, what happened??ā ā*sobbing* I- I broke your grandmaās bohooohooowl -ā And my grandmother, bless that woman, starts laughing hysterically. Sheās laughing so much I think, I must have broken her, thatās it, sheās lost her marbles now and itās my fault, until she wheezes out:Ā āGigi that bowl survived two world wars and the NazisĀ but not a month in your kitchen!ā and of course I fucking lost it too at that point. Thatās how I learned, that in the end, itās really all about perspective.Ā
Now Iām a step-mum myself and my go to reaction whenever I hear something break is to shrug and say āWell, it had a good runā and then I go fetch a broom and weāll clean up because if my grandma could laugh off a 100 year old crystal dish, I can laugh off an IKEA mug lmao
āThat bowl survived two world wars AND THE NAZIS but not a month in your kitchenā is lowkey the most hilarious drag Iāve heard from a grandma.
My favorite headcanons
-Tony once had to pay for a camera from the 40s Steve broke after he swore he remembered how to operate it properly.
-in fact. Tony has to pay for a lot of things being broken. And not specifically because the team was fighting (fighting villains that is, Thor sometimes gets excited (or drunk) and just starts THROWING PLATES AND CUPS AROUND AND TONY IS SCREAMING INTERNALLY)
-Steve being delighted that the lgbt and colored communities are getting more recognition. But knows the fights far from over and makes a point to participate in protests and pride parades to show support.
-So you know how we have basically an universal headcanon that Clint climbs through vents and to high places? Weāll, Tonyās starting to mess with him and has booby trapped a couple common Clint places with some harmless but agitating pranks. Which he didnāt mention to the rest of the team until his feathered friend marched in withā¦well feathers all over him. Demanding to know where his cheetos went.
-Natasha looking like she doesnāt really enjoy all of this and acts professional (and like sheād rather be anywhere else) especially in meetings with shield. But she totally adds fuel to the fire every time thereās an opportunity to start someā¦excitement around here. (like suggesting to tony to booby traps some ventsā¦then stealing Clints stuff and making it look like Tony did it. Sheās the real one pulling a lot of the strings and gets zero of the blame when Tony and Clint almost blow up the tower in their dangerous prank war extravaganza)
-Nearly half the team have anonymously run shitposting blogs that are extremely famous for their strange circumstances about parts of their lives that are completely serious (example: I did not run away from an orphanage and then join a circus and then become a secret agent for you to insult the way I said āPoughkeepsieā okay) They compete over who has the most followers. Amazingly (or not) Bruce has been in the lead for over 6 months.
-whoās the best at dance dance revolution? Nobody will say, when theyāre asked they just say they donāt want to talk about what happened. Tony bought it. And then threw it out the next day (Literally. He justā¦threw it into space.) thatās all anyone knows of the story. And the theories are some of the most popular on the web.
-The team goes to the zoo. Tony points at a snake āThatās you, Sneveā. Steve rolls his eyes and points at a small stray cat that just startled a lion. āThatās you Tomewā Rhodey points to some monkeys āThatās all of you, dumbasses.ā
-We all accept good and well that Tony CANNOT sit still for the life of him. But the team would rather take the rapid shaking of his leg or the tapping of his fingers on the table than when heās allowed to move during a meeting. Heāll pace. And pace. And talk and stop talking and pace. Heāll pace the same floor not saying anything for 20 minutes. Heāll pace around peoples chairs. Heāll pace on the table. Heāll kick paperwork away like a cat on said table. The team tried to fix this by saying Tony can move but he canāt use his feet. Which resulted in everyone groaning and collectively putting their heads in their hands when Tony does a handstand and starts moving UPSIDE DOWN.
-Tony is high-key into yoga and keeps it a secret. Until he and Rhodey are caught in a ādouble wide boatā pose
These are all I can think of for now. But anyone can feel free to add on~
we need to talk about that house loan
Itās gonna cost you a leg. Specifically, that guyās prosthetic leg.
I need it.
Itās important to me.
