A fun reminder that Aang was a terrifyingly powerful Avatar.

Most Avatars are informed of their newfound destinies at the age of 16 to begin their training. Because of the approaching war Aang was told of his status at the age of 12. He had already mastered airbending, and in the span of a year he mastered the other three elements, the avatar state, and energybending. He also learned lightning redirection and seismic sense (a technique no previous Avatar had even encountered). In the span of a year.

This child was a terrifying force of nature.

I want to add two things.

1. 12 Years old was the youngest anyone has ever mastered Airbending.

2. It actually only took him about 9 months to master the rest, since each book takes place over 1 season(3 months)

all above reasons why Aang and ATLA in general were my absolute favorites.

Here’s another throwback to an older drawing I made of Korra. Here she is all young and impressionable from the episodes in the spirit world with Uncle Iroh. That’s Avatar Wan’s teapot that used to hold Rava and the little phoenix dragon that saved her from Unalaq later on. Just another reminder to hold up light and peace for the world.

When Bryke wasn’t sure if there was going to be a book 2, the originally were going to have Asami join the United Forces

Like they had a little joke where Asami was going to run off with Iroh, and Mako was going to be all “What the heck? He’s 36.” and Asami was going to be all “So? I’m 29.” And Mako was going to be confused, “What!?” Then Asami: “Wait, how old are you?!” Then Mako was going to be all , “I’m 19!!!”
