do y'all know about the bridal designer drama happening on tiktok
bride (floating afore) canceled her (thousands of dollars spent) bespoke order with nyc bridal designer “undonebykate” (who has disabled her comments) bc the one on the right is what they made her (left was her inspo)
the true gag is…..when you look at what she was making the same year she began doing bridal, it’s abundantly clear that she was only capable of producing the upcycled sewing projects (no shade!) that have trended in a post-sewing-skills society. the projects are indistinct from what any of you would be able to accomplish in a few hours of labor, imo:
and even as she began sewing wedding gowns the same year, it’s clear that she did not understand fit at that point (one of her gowns shown alongside a similar but correctly-developed gown from cinq, for reference:)
4 years later and she has amassed tens of thousands of followers. and certainly, with training, one can grow quite a lot technique-wise in a matter of 4 years; i know i did!! but via her bio she doesn’t seem to have received any training since then:
but in general the dresses she provides for influencers seem to have had a lot more labor dedicated to them. so the advertising looks good such that she can charge brides $120 for a zoom call initial conversation and upwards of 5k for dresses that look completely unprofessional 🤭🤭
