I used Artbreeder to recreate Snapes life
I have tried to depict different turning points in Snape's life.
5 -> he realises his magic. 11 -> he knows he is going to Hogwarts. 13 -> he experiences bullying. 15 - > he makes friends with Lucius. 16 - > he quarrels with Lily. 18 - > he drops out of school and becomes a Death Eater. 20 - > the prophecy. 23 - > he teaches. 26 - > he meets someone (not canon). 32 - > Harry is at Hogwarts. 37 - > year of death.
Not all of it makes chronological sense or is confirmed, but that's just how I think of it so stfu lol.
I think Snape has aged very quickly in his last years at Hogwarts. Knowing that there will be a second war, knowing that he probably won't survive another war, the long years as a spy, the burden of the traumas he has experienced and will experience, the situation of being trapped in a life that requires him to give himself up completely - all this has contributed to ageing faster. But I'm not okay with him losing his hair at the last pictures, but I just couldn't make it look different.
I love the idea that Eileen had Native American roots and passed that on to Snape (hence the beautiful black hair and nose etc). I don't know how I came up with it, but I think it would fit well into the story of Snape and the Marauders. Many people with Indian roots (or Jews or Hebrews) are bullied for their distinctive features because many people see European beauty standards as the ideal (which of course is fcking bulshit).
Unfortunately, I didn't manage to make them more in line with this idea.
Tobias was probably a muggle veteran, so I wanted to give him a scar or a crooked jaw, but it didn't quite work out.
I'm still pretty happy with him. I think Tobias was a very angry person, a drunkard, someone who hates his life and destroys any joy from his surroundings (in this case his family). At the same time, I think he felt remorse in sober moments. Maybe there were even days when he wanted to make up for everything. But he never kept it up for long. Especially not once it was clear that Severus was going to Hogwarts.
