From the Nashville Zoo’s fb page! Here’s the petition, please please please take a moment to add your name (even if you’re not from Nashville!). If you are from Tennessee, contact your representatives and make it clear that the people do not want this data center. This is an AZA accredited zoo which is home to several species of critically endangered animals, we NEED to protect it. Make your voice heard!
Because people will pay attention to cute animals, here are some of the critically endangered/endangered species housed at the Nashville Zoo!
The Amur Leopard and Clouded Leopard (which recently celebrated its 50th cub born at the zoo!)
The Sumatran Tiger
The Red Ruffed Lemur and Ring-Tailed Lemur
The Cotton-Top Tamarin and White-Cheeked Gibbon
The Colobus Monkey and De Brazza’s Monkey
And the Mexican Spider Monkey!
Look at them!!!! Look at them and fight like hell to save them!!!!
Adding my own images of Nashville Zoo to this. It’s super important to stand, fight, and continue to spread awareness on this.
There’s so many other great animals at this zoo, and it's done so much in teaching people about animals and conservation.
Other animals includes bats, btw.
Developers are seeking to turn land into a 69,000-square-foot data center next to the Nashville zoo.
Amid a growing number of data centers in Tennessee, the Nashville Zoo is pushing back against a proposed facility near its property, citing
Developer claiming they'll follow government regs when the EPA is openly rolling back regulations.....
Dude. The NOISE. All I can think about is the noise. None of the animals will be able to survive there anymore.

yesterday my grandma found a penny on the floor and said to my grandpa “there’s that penny again, pa!” and i absolutely lost my mind because i couldn’t shelve the thought of a single panel Far Side comic of two old people on the front porch in the middle of nowhere and a giant penny angrily and inexplicably rolling through the wastes
“there’s that penny again, pa!”
this is hands down my single favorite post ive ever made that got notes
I sincerely hope that the OP realizes that gramma was very likely quoting that cartoon.
the cartoon that was drawn and posted based on my post? probably not, but i guess we can never know
the thing I love most about how tumblr users use tags is that it’s like what if a social media website had a footnotes system

“And all this time Childermass said nothing. Mr Segundus wondered what more he required — all his questions had been answered. But Childermass waited and watched Mr Segundus with his queer black eyes, as if he were waiting for Mr Segundus to say one thing more — as if he fully expected that Mr Segundus would say it — indeed as if nothing in the world were more certain.”
I do believe this is my favorite scene of all, I desperately wish to animate it someday.
(And I WILL)
“Someone was standing in the middle of the room: a tall, handsome person with pale, perfect skin and an immense amount of hair, as pale and shining as thistle-down. His cold, blue eyes glittered and he had long dark eye-brows, which terminated in an upward flourish. He was dressed exactly like any other gentleman, except that his coat was of the brightest green imaginable — the colour of leaves in early summer.” - Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Susanna Clarke
I fear I’ve been entirely besotted by this book for years, and only now can I bring myself to make art for it.
Either way, here you are. A sketchbook page of mine, one of many I ought to share.
He deserves to have this moment immortalized.
Rather, he deserves everything.
Anyway.. I’m known to be a babbler, so babble I will.
This scene really spoke to the child in me, the child I was and hope to save.
"Do the magic, Mr Segundus.”
And oh how I wished I could. Any child would pretend, I believed with my whole heart aching. I still do, when the mood strikes me. And often do such moods strike magicians.
As much as I may think myself to be a merely theoretical.. I can think of many ways to be practical. I may not weave my own iron cross and lift a fairy curse, but I can still make beautiful things happen and that is magic enough.
"So Mr Segundus did the magic."
Furthermore,
I wonder if you can tell who (one of) my most favorite character(s) is.
I may try to paint this sketch another day, but it gave me such trouble when I first attempted it. But I must do the magic!!
Last thing of the day, a bookmark I made for a friend of a friend, the only person I know of that’s read this book :’(
So please, dear reader should you be a fan DO leave a comment!! Us birds-of-a-raven-feather should flock together. Maybe write some encrypted messages upon the sky.
“The man of business gave a short laugh — laughter which was clearly directed at Mr Honeyfoot, yet Mr Norrell did not reprimand him either by look or word, and Mr Segundus wondered what sort of business it could be that Mr Norrell entrusted to this person. With his long hair as ragged as rain and as black as thunder, he would have looked quite at home upon a windswept moor, or lurking in some pitch-black alleyway, or perhaps in a novel by Mrs Radcliffe.” -Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Susanna Clarke
As you can see I was not quite done, though this is more of a glorified sketch I’m happy with it.
I’ve been drawing horses so often I really did apply for a job at my local stables. Here’s to hoping. Also can you tell I love John Bauer.
Need I say more.
