when they arrived at the dorm, taeyong contemplated on sending you a message to see how you were doing, but before he could, jaehyun sat down next to him. “hyung, i love her so much, but i think this is really the end of it.” jaehyun tells him, staring at the wall in front of him. “i doubt she wants to see me again. there’s no going back,” he continues. “jaehyun, what happened to the both of you? last time i talked to her, she was so happy to see you visiting her in america,” taeyong asked, confused on the sudden change of your relationship.

“who is it?” you scream, walking towards the door. to your surprise, you saw your boyfriend, jaehyun, on the other side of the door. you squeal in delight, jumping in his arms. “my love! what are you doing here?” you say, giving him kisses all over his face. “calm down, love.” he chuckles, walking inside and placing you on the couch. “we are on a break right now, and they allowed me to visit you. surprise?” he says, and all you could do is smile and give him kisses. “i love you so much,” you say. “i love you more.”

“hm, but you have been together for six years now… aren’t you a little bothered that he hasn’t atleast proposed?” you stared at her for some time, not sure where she is going with this. “no, i’m not. what… what are you even trying to say?” “it’s just, come on y/n, he’s jaehyun… he’s surrounded with lots of…” you didn’t want to hear it. you couldn’t believe what you were hearing from her right now. you didn’t want to sit here, listening to her belittle your relationship with jaehyun like that. “i’m leaving,” you say. you walk towards jaehyun, and he could already tell that something was wrong, so he says his goodbye to your dad and uncles. “y/n, what’s wrong?” he asks, bringing you closer to him. “let’s go home,” you tell him.
once at home, you do your usual night routine, while jaehyun wonders what happened to get you all this sad and frustrated. “do you want to tell me what happened?” he asks, once you were both in bed. you look at him with sad eyes and a frown. you didn’t want to bring it up to him because you know it would bother him as well, and that’s the last thing you want to do. “it’s nothing, just tired.” “y/n, you should know by now not to lie to me. i understand if you don’t want to talk about it right now, but just know that i’m here,” he says. you nod, snuggling closer to him. he caresses your hair, still hoping you would talk to him, so you decide to… if only you knew the outcome of this conversation, you would have just slept it out.
you look at him, telling him what happened with your cousin. “i trust you jaehyun, and although i want to settle down. i know it’s not a priority right now because of your career, and i’m not holding that against you. i know you love me, and i love you too,” you tell him, drawing hearts on his chest.

“jaehyun, i told you that it was okay. we don’t need to-“ you stop yourself. your thoughts now clouded with negativity, with sadness, with anger. he’s breaking up with you that easily. he just decided one night that you were not worth fighting for. he decided to ruin your six year relationship just because… of this? you look at him, “okay.” you tell him. this is it. the end. “okay. i don’t need to fight for something you are set on. i told you everything, and you still decided to break up with me. am i not worth fighting for, jaehyun?” you ask him. he looks at you bewildered, “y/n, of course you are worth fighting for. but we have different-“ you cut him off, “no jaehyun, we do not have different goals. i would have talked to you about all this, but you just decided to break up with me? you know what? it’s fine, just leave. i don’t want to see or hear from you again. goodbye,” you say, walking towards your room. you place his luggage outside the room, and locked it, crying your eyes out. not caring if he could hear you or not.
he knocks on the door. “y/n, please open up,” he says repeatedly. “leave! don’t talk to me ever again. i hate you!” you scream. of course you didn’t mean it. you love him more than anything in the world. when the night comes, you were hoping to see him just outside the door, or the kitchen, or living room, anywhere near you. however, you were left with complete silence. no traces of him, no traces of jaehyun in your house.
and that’s when you knew that this is it. this is the end.

taeyong listened intently to jaehyun. “hyung, i messed up so bad. she hates me.” taeyong knew you didn’t hate jaehyun. you wouldn’t have meant that. “she doesn’t hate you, jaehyun. believe me. she was just hurt,” he says. “what do i do?” jaehyun asks. taeyong thinks of a plan… he really tried to think of one, but he was left with nothing. he could only imagine what you were going through right now. “we’ll figure it out, okay? go rest first. come on,” taeyong tells jaehyun.
