So I finished my first run of Baldur's Gate 3...
shoutout to slow growers, late bloomers, people whose plans got derailed by circumstances beyond their control or their own choices, people who never had a plan to begin with, people who have had to start over when theyre too old to feel like theyre supposed to be where they are, people who cant pretend theyre built for the environment theyre in, and everyone who's not living the life they thought they would. im proud of you for making it this far and i hope you keep going until youre happy ♡
Flavours of unreliable narrator:
Lying to the reader
Lying to themselves
Simply misinformed
Not paying attention
Has weird priorities
Assumed you knew
Hates you personally
Bad at communicating
Easily sidetracked
Will believe anything
Has weird prejudices
Just kind of dumb
while you were attending therapy i was studying the blade
what do you mean i need better coping mechanisms
>a wild therapist has entered the chat you need an additional coping mechanism studying the blade is a DBT principle called Building Mastery - wherein you engage in anything that is practical during which you gain skill and can actively see yourself progress - which is resilience building technique by which you shore yourself against vulnerability factors that make it harder to regulate emotions and manage activities of daily life and interpersonal interactions effectively. if you continue to study the blade while engaging in therapy, it will in fact make your therapeutic session more effective because having a skill that you pursue builds self-esteem and is a foundation upon which other coping skills can be built. so not better coping skills, blademaster, additional ones. you are already heading in the right direction and you have proven you have the tenacity to apply yourself to one discipline. now show us what you can do when applying yourself to your healing.
Does…..does writing count for this?
Yes. Very much so.

Harry du Bois would say this.
rewatching the maltese falcon job and i love how sometimes nate’s solution to a problem is very clever and complex and thought-out and well-planned, and sometimes his solution is just being irritating as hell. like oh, sterling needs to be stalled getting up to the mayor’s hotel room?? no problemo. lemme just run up every flight of stairs and stop at every floor to hit the elevator call button. easy peasy. he’s like a cat in the sense that sometimes causing a distraction means slinking around and making your perfect move at the very last second after you’ve executed your flawess plan, and sometimes it’s just knocking a fucking glass off the table so it makes a huge mess
I do think the right way to think about the Mirror of Galadriel is that it‘s the equivalent of an entirely home-built computer tower, with chips that are only barely legal for civilians to buy and wires that look like a rat’s nest but are actually hyperoptimized for efficiency, and a homemade OS in a coding language she invented, and cybersecurity that would make the CIA cry, and also some judiciously applied superglue and/or gorilla tape, made in their home office by someone who helped invent the internet at DARPA in the 60s.
And that a Palantir is, comparatively, a MacBook Air.
chapter 69 is still one of my favorites. the brushbuddy is the most careful and levelheaded one in that hospital room

Qifrey's subplot: man I really love my best friend and I want to live happily with him and our children in our atelier but i cannot confess my feelings because I'm hiding him a very dark secret uwu
Beldaruit's subplot: I have to kill the king
mordin trying to hook bakara up with garrus like ok did he think that he and shepard wouldn't last or does he just not see the issue with such a proposal 😭
"Hmm. Human-Turian tensions intense, sexual tension bridged this gap on individual level. Positive relations between significant individuals led to strong non-individual political and military cooperation.
"Coincidence? Correlation? Causation?
"... Needs more data.
"Eve! Thoughts on sexual relations with Garrus?"
i love richeh because at first glance she's quiet, withdrawn, and you think she's the shy kid of the group. but no. she'll kill you. that girl is ready to murder at any time of the day. just the stubbornest, most obstinate, most self-confident child on the planet. you try to tell her she can't do something, and she'll not only ignore you, she'll do the thing while conjuring sparkles and somehow utilizing crystals. respects maybe three whole people in the world and doesn't even try to hide it. said ACAB, out loud, to the cop's face after physically attacking the cop. best little girl representation of all time.
