I hear you. but I actually really super love being an omnivorous persistence hunting primate with a stomach capable of dissolving many literal poisons and the ability to smell geosmin (released in the soil after it rains) at five parts per trillion. I super enjoy being a bipedal terrifyingly agile mammal with some of the most efficient sweat glands in the animal kingdom. I find a lot of joy in being an endotherm with mimicry abilities that rival most other animals with vocal chords. it's sick as hell I'm having a lot of fun

hi everyone!! I would super appreciate it if people didn't share their grievances on this post.

I've seen a LOT of negative tags along the lines of "no but I hate having joint pain", "no but I want a tail and fluffy ears", "no but capitalism sucks". I wrote this post after YEARS of hating this body (and years of chronic pain. I feel you!! but chronic pain is not exclusive to humans!) because I was finally able to convince myself that being a human is something I can celebrate. if you carefully re-read the post, you'll also find that nowhere do I mention human society or economic systems! this is entirely about our physical adaptations.

I also want a tail and fangs etc but with this being tumblr, there are dozens of popular posts out there expressing that exact sentiment that you should go and reblog [: please let this post exist on its own! I want this to be a space for delighting in what we have, because what we have is pretty extraordinary.
