been thinking about welcome to night vale recently & it is entirely unfathomable to me that most people either dont know what it is or have seemingly completely forgotten about it. like not only did it pave the way for the rising popularity of serialised audiodramas (specially horror audiodramas, which i believe are the most common still) but for a lot of people who, like me, were fighting in the trenches of the sherlock bbc reign of queerbaiting at the time cecil was probably the first actual example of a canonical gay character. & it was a good example!!!!! wtnv was funny & witty & terrifying at times with a really fucking cool supporting cast of characters & amazing worldbuilding plus some fucking gorgeous writing. listening to a wtnv episode felt like you were discovering something entirely new & exciting & it was BEAUTIFUL. also i still cant be at a bus stop on a rainy day without. well. you know
