I finished the quilt for my Grandma just in time! I finished the border yesterday, put it in the wash and sewed on the label this morning right before leaving for her birthday party.

My Grandma was the one who introduced me to fibre arts when I was about 4 or 5 and I used to spend at least one week of summer vacation at her place. When I came out as a lesbian and later as a trans man, she made sure that I always felt loved and accepted. I know that she will always be in my corner.

She turned 88 this week and is getting more and more frail, so it was important for me to finish this gift. She was very very happy about it.

I'm also very happy with how this one turned out! It was a big challenge time wise and I had to do the hand stitching for the border in a 35°C heatwave which was... not fun.

But it's done now and I feel so much more confident with lining up seams and corners!!

Plus my mitered corners improved so much from the first quilt, and I'm very proud of that.

The pattern is Hopscotch Happy by Robin Pickens.

I know, it's been AGES since I've put any of my own art on here (for fear of feeding the slop machines) but tumblr is for fandom and I am so absolutely GOT at the throat by AMC's 'Interview with the Vampire' that like...yah your girl back into fanart for something OTHER than VTM whaaaaat?

Also on the train of 'you know what this raging dumpster fire of a world needs right now? More slutty men' so I'm doing my part ✊

Absolutely LOVING this fanfic/love letter to Anne Rice's weird storytelling and the casting choices have been SO FUCKING GOOD (like ya'll do not understand I hated Lestat in the books and the first movie and Sam Reid out here giving such subtlety and nuance and delightful performances that I'm like 'ah yes baby. Baby girl. Baby girl what is you doing?' about Lestat now)

There will be more, because Armand is beautiful and Lestat is babygirl trashfire beautiful, and I am amused every time I draw men in these silly little ways.

Also I've drawn more than 2 Armands at this point, I just can't share them on tumblr because OH NO NUDITY POSSIBLY ADULT ACTIVITIES WHAAAT which I know, makes me the worst lol
