This website is still here and some of the asks are heartbreaking. Like “Jamie wants a new pair of jeans because he’s never had new clothes before”. Or “Kayla wants a bag with her name on it for when she moves foster homes again.”

A lot of these kids ask for brand name clothing and it sounds pretentious but having one nice new fashionable piece of clothing means a lot when all your previous clothes have come out of black trash bags from charities.

Btw, you can filter wishes based on gender, age, price, etc to help you find the perfect wish for you. This charity is LGBTQ-affirming (unlike a lot of religion-based charities that are unfortunately homophobic), so you can even look for nonbinary kids to donate to.

Also, I would really encourage people to be open to granting wishes made by older foster kids (14+) or young adults who aged out of the system and still lack family support. They’re so often forgotten.

yes!!! I learned about the Mystery Cramps and that estradiol cream can fix them through other transmascs first. when I started experiencing them myself I went through like 3 doctors and an urgent care visit about it, got referred to a "women's health clinic" that I was told has a history of treating lots and lots of trans patients, and the doctor there was like, "well we know about the Mystery Cramps (pelvic pain after a few years on T) and we know that estradiol cream fixes it, but idk if this is that. I guess it can't hurt though? you should also get an ultrasound just in case"

the cream stopped the cramping within a few days, and I only ever get cramping anymore if I miss a couple of doses.

ask your doctor about it directly. tell them you learned about it through other trans people who've experienced the same thing. ask them to try it. do not fuck around or waste your time about it if you don't need to!

there aren't a lot of studies yet (I wasn't able to find one on using estradiol to treat pelvic pain in trans people taking testosterone, specifically), but you'll find plenty of professional/expert voices backing this up if you poke around a bit, and you might consider bringing some of that research, or encouraging them to do their own.

which has directly led to the constant recalls of consumer goods and foodstuffs over the past several years. the recent e coli outbreak at mcdonalds? the boars head listeria recall? these are the products of deregulation. getting rid of laws and standards that protect consumers by making sure money hungry corporations dont cut corners.

Actually I'll never forgive Punk Rave and Killstar and fast fashion brands for tricking people into thinking that being goth or punk or emo is expensive. Babygirl the only goth brand names you need to know are Rit, Good Will, Etsy, and Studs and Spikes, we used to shove safety pins through our ears and then they started selling earrings that look like safety pins for 15.99. We used to dye thrifted wedding dresses black and they started selling gothic gowns for 300 bucks. We used to put studs on boots we found in the back of the good will and they started making Demonias. DIY or die wasn't perfect it can be exclusionary to disabled people but whatever the fuck we've got going on right now is so much worse. It's not any more inclusive to the disabled and it is exclusionary to the people who made punk, to the people who made goth, to the people who made emo. If you've got the funds and you don't want to do diy pay someone else to do it for you but please let it be a small artist or a friend not some guy in a suit who's made it his business to gentrify punk. You can turn flats into platforms with flipflops, hotglue and gumption don't let anyone tell you different.

Yes, it’s getting more and more difficult to find interesting things at thrift stores, and it’s even worse if you’re plus sized. The other thing goths did Back In The Day was keep an eye on what was in the mainstream stores, then snapped up anything remotely gothy when things went on clearance. And then DIY-ed the hell out of whatever we’d found.

Alex Jones is livestreaming rn and for the first and only time in my life it's appointment viewing. He got evicted from his studio mid-stream and they had to cover for him when he popped up in his "satellite studio" (a room in his house I assume) devoid of the Infowars branding. He's talking about how "tens of millions" of people have watched his final broadcast & you can literally see he has far less than a million viewers in the bottom corner (and this is on Twitter, which inflates views of videos ever since Elon had to convince people anyway gives a shit about Tucker Carlson's livestreams). He's currently whining that they chose not to sell his site back to him at auction, so he could keep doing the crimes that are why he was selling his website.

I didn't see this personally but he's apparently read out the Onion's announcement, which is a fake article by a fake corporation, out loud several times as if it was real. Anyway it should be noted how screwed he is, bc...

...while he can livestream under his own name, they own his warehouses of dubious supplements. He has nothing to sell but t-shirts protesting that his show is going down. Since Infowars was, first and foremost, a lifestyle brand, this leaves him, scientifically speaking, "totally fucked". He doesn't have ads, that's the only way he makes money
