Hello everyone.. I am sorry for the barrage / I am sorry for remaking my shops post.. but I miscalculated how much my severance would be / they did not take my w-8 ben into account which meant I will pay taxes both in the philippines and the US.. I was left with almost nothing... I am the sole caretaker of a family of four in the global south.. I have a job lined up but theyll only start paying in two months if they like my work.. I am posting again because I have a life limiting disability which puts my life at risk if I am not medicated (I do not have a thyroid and need to be on synthetic thyroid hrmones.) I also have diabetes which is so close to remission.. under my care is my mothwr who is not independent and has a brain injury from sepsis.. and my sister, our two beautiful cats.. I do not have any other family who will help outside of my partner.. my only other family who are willing to help are incapable of.. Im asking folk who are in a more fortunate position to come please give me a boost, rb this, pick up prints or give me a tip if you so would like.. thank you so much

i have no funny way to report this but a couple weeks ago i was looking for donkey factory on YT (iykyk) and instead found a corner of youtube channels AI-generating How Its Made-style documentaries on various animal product factories with seemingly 0 oversight. for some reason donkeys seem to be the most prevalent. there are dozens of these all from different channels. Others included dalmatian leather factories, hyena factories, lion factories.

there are an unknown number of these channels putting this shit out and gaining anywhere from 0 to thousands of views (likely from bots also)

BUT. the first one i watched was over 50% AI-generated clips of monkeys riding tractors thru quaint farms and forests with abrupt, brief cuts to scientists talking about donkey data in shiny sci-fi laboratories.

unfortunately that was the most busted video I saw and most of them are surreal AIgen factory footage all the way through.

i do think what gets ignored about carrie as a character is that she’s an incredibly easy target to bully; she’s a chubby, sheltered acne ridden teenage girl who wears frumpy grandma clothes and regurgitates the jesus freak shit her violently abusive mother tells her. she has violent thoughts about her classmates and is uncomfortable to be around. she’s far more interesting being a victim that’s somewhat uncomfortable to be in the head of than a tragic waif. she’s not a martyr, she’s a child and a child who’s been victimised her whole life shouldn’t have to be kind and angelic to be recognised as a victim. suffering teenage girls shouldn’t just be presented on screen as toned down glamorous thin ophelias, suffering teenage girls can be fat and poor and think violently. i do think we need to examine why culturally we need teenage girls to be beautiful and kind to valorise their suffering and treat it as bad
