“There is also a natural bond between parents and children which must be respected and encouraged. The parents are the first and most important educators of their children. They enjoy a natural right to both educate and choose the kind of education their children will have without interference from the state.
In both the liberal state and the totalitarian state such a natural relationship is not respected. In both, marriage and family are looked upon as accidental to the perfection of man. In the liberal model, this is because there is no natural relationship to society but it is simply an accident. In totalitarian states, this is because the state is the only relationship and all others are therefore merely incidental and can be sacrificed at the altar of the state. The leader is the ultimate educator and the parents are merely his servants.”
