Holy fuck
This works best if you keep windows closed.
Another design is using 2 20x25x1 filters, taping them to the sides of the box fan and then to each other so they sort of make a triangle, then cutting cardboard to make a top and bottom to the triangle.
This was discovered as a more effective design during the 2020 US west coast fires.

A better more efficient and odor eliminating homemade air purifier than just taping a 20x20x1 filter to a box fan. Sometimes you need to
If you live on the west coast of the United States, fire season is coming and this is vital.
We’ve been using one, and they’re great. Might try to make the double filter version this year.
theyve been doing a bunch of studies on this during the pandemic and this design is best! 4 filters and a shroud to optimize flow rate.

I’ve personally used both the flat single-filter version AND the triangular two-filter version, and based on subjective personal experience I would argue that the benefits from the second filter, both in terms of airflow and filtration, are absolutely worth it. If you need a makeshift air filter and you have two filters to work with, build the triangle (if not the box, i have no idea how good that one works but based on the info here i presume it’s a fair bit better.)
This trick works. We use it in my house.
If anyone wants aesthetic inspo or design ideas check R/CrBoxes
so this is relevant again
Lots of drama in our household
I have a very strange link to share that a friend sent me. No, not a "'friend', eh? *wink wink nudge nudge*". A friend who's very into artbooks and archiving sent me this.
There is an unbelievable wealth of art books and educational material that is inexplicably hosted on e-hentai.
With more than a million absolutely free hentai doujinshi, manga, cosplay and CG galleries, E-Hentai Galleries is the world's largest free H
A cursory look on my part shows that almost all of this is either translated into english or has been localized. There are animation books by Tezuka. There are just artbooks you can't get anymore. This one, I am told, inspired bloodborne.
Lots of knowledge for you archived before archive.org. I hope you find it useful.
It's still a hentai site. Browse at your own risk. You might see illustrated nudity! How terrible!!!
Nhentai (a similar site) and the Internet Archive (for unrelated reasons) is facing lawsuit-related instability in the last few days, so it's good to make the time saving these kinds of priceless resources.
I will NEVER deactivate. and how DARE you
Tumblr users parading around the corpse of the guy who said he'd never die
genuinely irritated about the prevalence of brother-sister character designs where the brother has a huge nose and the sister has a tiny nose. 1) why are you a coward who hates the joy and beauty of women with big noses 2) have you looked at any real human siblings lately 3) why do you appear to think the nose is a secondary sex characteristic
wishing all women with big noses a beautiful day i hope you get everything you want forever and i'm sorry about the rank cowardice of general society you deserve better
Im enjoying the longevity of tumblrs recontextualization style of humor. a seemingly innocuous post followed by like "posts that a gnome would make" or like "are you a phone"
More from the notes:
I love this post

I know it has been done like, 100000000000000000000000 times but but but, i still love it like 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 tons
We got mistaken for "high schoolers skipping out on school" while picking up our baby cousin from pre-school the other day ("shouldn't you be in school?"). And yes the teachers were shocked that we were well into our 30s, finished grad school, and had jobs.
More than anything I'm amused by her "high schoolers skipping out on school" hc. Like even if we were bad boy kids skipping school, somehow dropping off and picking up our baby cousin from pre-K is how we spend our bad boy hours. We get a sick thrill being responsible co-parents. School is for losers. But dropping and picking up your baby cousin to and from pre-K? Metal stuff. Worth skipping school for.
I honestly think Gen-Z and younger simply does not understand how recent widespread smartphone adoption is.
I am not that old, and I didn't have a smartphone until probably late high school. For most of my life, many if not most people were not walking around with a magic internet machine in their pocket that they pulled out and used constantly for everything.
reblog if you remember having to ration your text messages and accidentally opening the internet on your phone was the end of the world

some hyper famous artists like Van Gogh transcend overratedness and become underrated because they're so normalized. Like I'll look at a van Gogh and I'm like wait this really is amazing you guys don't get it
Shakespeare is like this
Every time I see a Van Gogh that’s not one of his better known pieces it absolutely blows me away
Have you seen this shit my liege? smh unreal

if you're an adult behaving immaturely i'm not going to "treat you like a child" about it because i have a lot of respect for children as an oppressed and vulnerable class of people. i will however treat you like an embarrassment. which you are being.
There's something to be said for blocking someone on social media as an act of compassion. Sometimes I'll see someone popping up in my notes over and over again where it's like "okay, buddy, seeing my posts on your dash appears to cause you a great deal of emotional distress, so why don't we make it so you don't have to?"
Well… I'm gonna steal as many bagels as I can fit in this box. With you as my partner, there's no telling when I'll be able to afford a real meal again.
An inconsistent tyrant that is lenient on some things some times but with no logic as to what or when, is worse than an absolute tyrant who is clear about the rules they demand you follow.
You can appease the latter and build some sort of life under their rule. But the former leaves you uncertain and nervous at all times, not knowing when you might set them off.
Unfun fact: there is psychological research about this. Randomized punishment drives test subjects (rats, generally) functionally insane, just twitching balls of stress that stop voluntary actions. The other end (randomized reward) is why gambling is so addictive.
