Every one of those losses brings with it a choice between darkness and light. - Arrow 8x01 “Sterling City”
to all the books that i’ve read 1/3rd of
Have you seen The Raggy Dolls (1986-1994)?
Yes
Partially
No, but I've heard of it
Never heard of it
And so, the woman dies. The woman dies so the man can be sad about it. The woman dies so the man can suffer. She dies to give him a destiny. Dies so he can fall to the dark side. Dies so he can lament her death. As he stands there, brimming with grief, brimming with life, the woman lies there in silence. The woman dies for him. - The Woman Dies by Aoko Matsuda
Yeah, this is what it is. It’s betrayal. Now we have to ask ourselves if it’s worth it continuing to support them in any way - financially, politically, promotionally. We have to ask ourselves why we do this. What is the point of it?
We retain nothing out of our loyalty to them so why be so loyal? Where is our value for our money? Or in some extreme cases, where is our money going at all? These are questions we need to ask ourselves as consumers now because this is a huge betrayal and we cannot let Sony get away with this. We need to constantly hound them every chance we get and discontinue our support in any which way we can to teach them a lesson on this.
You don’t throw your consumers under the fucking bus.
That is a catastrophically bad decision to make as a business and you’ll reap what you sow if you double down on that decision just to spite them and “win”.
Win the argument but lose the profit. I’m no business person but I would think I’d rather want to win the profit but lose the argument if I was. I would have no issue in saying I’m wrong if it meant my finances would deplete.
Sony are stubborn bastards but they’ll relent eventually because they’ll be so fucking stupid if they don’t relent.
They discontinue all physical discs
We discontinue our support.
It’s as simple as that.
@alternatively-undesignated Oh I have not stopped talking about it. I literally cannot stop talking about it.
It’s so important to me as an enthusiast of TV art/entertainment. Video games especially since that is the hardest visual/audial format to access without using the storefronts of PlayStation and XBOX and Nintendo. Which I try not to because of them being closed platforms. Physical discs or cartridges or cards are so very important for this. Not only to keep retailers open, but to also keep the free or used market open. I will fight like hell to make sure that I do not lose my local GAME or CEX or Cash Converter.
You can say I’m pretty passionate about this subject that I’m going to find it very difficult to talk about anything else at the moment. I said I was closing the conversation on one of my other posts about this but to be honest I can’t. It’s too front and center in my mind and heart right now. And as a personal collector of any and all physical media - it’s actually devastating for me.
I buy digitally as well. Of course I do. But if I had no other choice in that, then I would only buy physically.
See with it being the other way around, that’s not good.
The people that don’t understand what the big deal is they just seem to think that this is just the elimination of the physical format and that there is no difference.
No.
This is the elimination of consumer choice
This the elimination of consumer owernership
This is the elimination of consumer control.
And therefore it will affect those people too.
I’m trying to make it as clear as I can why we either need this to be rolled back or we need better legislation on it because the truth is I wouldn’t really think it was that much of a big deal either if it was just elimination of physical media. I’d miss it but I would deal with it.
The reality is this is so much bigger than that and therefore it’s going to affect everyone no matter whether they primarily buy physically or digitally.
ALL OF THIS!!!!
legit the best advice i can give you: feed your friends
any time someone is in any kind of crisis or upheaval, offer to feed them. tell them they don't have to choose what it is if they can't make decisions, just ask about allergies and preferences and tell them you're just gonna make food happen at their house.
friend having a baby? delivery gift certificate to order food to the hospital after the kid shows up.
someone's relative passes away? offer to make them dinner.
buddy gets laid off? ask if you can order them lunch.
pal stuck in a depressive episode? offer to drive them to fucking mcdonalds, if that's what they want.
people in crisis are tired and sad and angry and the last thing most of them are doing is thinking about feeding themselves. so if you have the ability or time or money, providing that is always, always a good move.
legit i do this all the time, and it is 100% always appreciated. i have taught all my friends that when something happens, we feed each other. it makes people feel extremely cared for, and I cannot recommend it enough.

Season 3, Episode 23 "Finish Line" THE FLASH (2014–2023)
“It’s photoshopped” honestly in the age of AI that has a homey sort of nostalgia to it. Remember when people used to put effort into faking things?
photoshop fakers are like the villain with moral standards now

I am Akram.
My main account got @-ed on this scam (no I won't say which one), and it occurred to me that some of the people here might not realize this is a scam.
It is. Do not click any mystery links. DO NOT give them any personal information. And DO NOT respond to messages like this.
thankfully most of us would rather see this place burn to the ground than hand over more information to staff so this kind of thing isn't going to do any good
I know, but considering the chaos the gaza bots caused (and are still causing) I figured it’d be best to say this out loud early on
