Endo's mysterious criminal empire continues to be the funniest plot point in this manga. He's eighteen at best who gave this edgy teenager the reins of a criminal organization. I mean, they should keep doing that because it's very funny. But still.
Windbreaker is so funny because Sakura has Suo 'my hobby is understanding how people work (and using that however I please)' Hayato and Akihiko 'heart too big for my own body and need to rely on others because my heart took up all the muscle that was supposed to be in my biceps' Nirei and Hajime 'all I do is garden, kick ass and give life advice' Umemiya and Kotoha 'Resident expert in understanding the concept of it takes a village and how people need support to thrive' Tachibana.
But when he's having a crisis he goes to the only senpai who is more emotionally repressed than him. Actual icon. Can't believe that worked. Thank God the Green Tea Coffee metaphor got through.

Also yeah, those are Chinese Redbuds, I'm familiar with them from when I made my analysis on Suo

I'm also glad that Sakura is not lashing out so far, he's just in an understandable slump, but it's nice to see this is probably healthier than what we could've had from him in the early arcs.
like what a way to depict empathy as something that can be uncomfortable to the listener
its interesting to me that even though it was umemiyas past that was revealed, sakura is the one who felt exposed ?? i think it shows that his empathy is involuntary and more of an innate aspect n not a skill, that it can act against his self preservation i think
i think thats what hiiragi is talking about here too. like this goes beyond actively being a good person its like.
"purity" and "empathy" are things that you want when you think of a morally good character but i like to think that sakura is not so morally quantifiable anymore because of how incomprehensibly good his nature is
like he's always so confused when he's told that he's done something "good", cuz in his eyes its just something that he did, like when hes told that he's the reason people who were enemies are friends now because of him.
not to say that hes not consciously good too, but i think what truly touched peoples hearts like when they think smth like "this kid is something else" is when he says something thats so idealistic its selfish.
he basically equates strength with integrity of character and genuinely wants togame to reform himself but his intention for saying that is so that he can enjoy fighting him. his "goodness" is kinda ridiculous and its said a little selfishly but its so endearing because of how good it is
like when he makes suo curb his anger and save everyone else first, because he feels responsible for them getting beaten to the point where his ability to fight has been impaired. it is obviously a logical decision too but the point is that sakura's motives being self blame and spiralling guilt isnt exactly logical lol
its not that he wasn't affected enough by nirei and his classmates injured, we see him thinking about that again when he explodes on nakamura, saying that he just can't help but hate what he hates cuz he doesn't want to accept that he can't do anything to stop their suffering
he himself acknowledges that it was naïve lolol
when he reassures people it truly reflects what he thinks; its like kinda selfish cuz it could be taken like he's not actually being considerate, but it just so happens that what he thinks is just naturally reassuring when he expresses it
again not saying that he doesnt try to be considerate, he does try but i feel the more remarkable moments are when he doesnt lolol. him getting that plushie pillow for kiryu is an example of him being consciously considerate which was also praised, n it was super cute lolol
i think thats why even him like. fucking blushing after everything endo had done to him made so much sense. he can't help but take what other people feel and say to him seriously even if he detests them
initially, to me it seemed kinda like a weird reaction from sakura after he had suffered a lot because of endo's gaslighting lolol that was painful to read ong
all this is basically me pointlessly elaborating these two panels i think. like yeah what they said !!
Something about Suo, who seldom attacks opponents directly, trying to split Endo’s brain open with his kick. Someone who was never truly aligned with Furin, angrily declaring that he is a part of the school just to reaffirm Sakura’s right to belong.
Then there’s the other thing with Sakura using Suo’s shoulder to kick at Endo. Earlier, it was Kanji who’d taught him the move (as such he could’ve repaid Kanji), yet Sakura choses to use the support of his vice captain. In the first place, Sakura is an arial fighter; he doesn’t need anything to prop himself up. I’d like to think this is Sakura’s response to Suo’s declaration more than anything.
Okay, fuck, I was ready to suffer alongside Sakura, I'm glad that Ume and Hiragii pointed out that Suo was a good kid and that clearly there's something more to it and they're doubting Endo's info.

Momijikawa doing us a solid one, I'm curious to see how the trio of Nirei, Momijikawa and Sugishita deal with this.
Also, u think I was right and Sugishita might know something, Suo did say he wanted to talk more with him and maybe he did, maybe he said some cryptic things and Sugishita is now starting to realise what it was all about, aside from clearly wanting to shake some sense into Sakura, I'm not crazy to believe that he might say some shit about how Suo was not going to let him leave Furin and was willing to fight Endo for it, then Sakura can't give up on Suo without getting an actual reason from the boy himself.
Overall, I really liked this chapter, will be back soon to bring you guys some analysis with panels!
