Heyo, I might post here some art that I draw or inspiration for projects I want to work on/write, with the occasional useful information or resources I think would be beneficial to share.

I'm trying to have a tendency to make shit in my free time, but I lose my train of thought frequently/go on tangents. I also don't really understand how online parasocial/social relationships work, so fair warning, i might be overly formal.

Saw the Backrooms movie to give it a fair shot - frankly thought it was overhyped. Like yes it was visually pretty but the story was like. It had the potential to be good but it felt like it fumbled moments that were supposed to be high tension with lines that felt to me at least cheesy and stereotypical? Predictable/boringish. Idk overall it was definitely good for a first time film but it's not exactly worth a rewatch for me at least. 3.5 out of 5 stars

Like they had their only black character Clark make a really pointed moment to his therapist Mary about being 5150'd or commited to a ward in the usa. And like. All that momentum with maybe making a statement about ableism and racism (people of color are disproportionately diagnosed with schizophrenia for instance) kind of flew out the window with the second to last scene which---

Was kind of shitty tbh. They had him tie her up and lose his mind. Idk. Like. It just felt like the time frame and timing of it all didn't justify the character to be like that? It took me out of the moment for sure. On top of that, when he shows compassion to the copied monster of himself, and then it eats him? Idk. It felt hollow and not in the good way. The other thing that took me out of it was how the monster wound up attacking the shrink and the audience is implied to be supposed to be rooting for her as she beats the monster. Like. Man. Idk. TLDR; it wasn't scary it just made me disappointed cause it could've been really good and instead the last few scenes made the story fall flat.

Man idk maybe i'm being a hypocrite. I know movies don't need to have a moral message especially not horror films - and i did enjoy the first half of it! The music sets and visuals were awesome! And i get that maybe it was based more on an established web series? (iirc) But i still...? Feel like it could've been better in the ending/writing. Ah well. It's just a movie.

not to be a joyless hag but I've started seeing genderbent "yuri" shipping Markiplier and Ryan Gosling and I can't help but think of someone I recently I unfollowed for posting that they have an easier time caring about genderbent versions of boy characters than regular fictional women

chapter 5 hype moments and aura

I'm scrolling Tumblr. I pause to watch a video of Amaury Guichon. He pours chocolate into a mold, then carefully removes the shape of a human head. There are time lapse clips of chocolate being formed into a body, limbs, and hair. As the final detail is finished, he steps back to reveal the figure of a beautiful woman, uncannily lifelike. He steps forward and places a delicate kiss on her lips. The figure, now a living human woman, stirs and looks around in wonder. Amaury Guichon looks into the camera with a wide smile and holds out his arms in presentation.

"Fucking chocolate guy," I mutter to myself before scrolling to the next post.
