"most women don't actually feel anything"
and
"being a woman isn't a feeling or a connection, it is a reality"
this^^^^^
The same thing can be said about men too
U.S. States With the Most Human Trafficking Victims (2019-2023)
Shocking. Absolutely shocking. My flabbers are gasted, I tell you.
The post I just reblogged made me think about "For sale: baby shoes, never worn" and how, now, in our time of dramatically reduced infant and child mortality and increased abundance, the more statistically likely interpretation of that six-word story is this:
"Extended family and friends have gifted us too much stuff for our kid. They didn't even get a chance to wear these shoes before they outgrew them." And if that's not an indication of amazing progress, I don't know what is.
coming up with an au were a dead character lives but shaking my head while i do it so everyone watching knows i support the role their death played in the narrative and consider it a legitimate writing choice
this is an awesome post to make if you want to get spoiled for every single piece of media on the entire planet
love the term "nothingburger", yanquis were unable to comprehend the concept of nothingness until it was explained with burgers
the term nothing burger is used for when there is substance to something, it does exist, but it's existence is pointless. like seeing a video of someone with a bag and saying "wow he has a bag". what is the point. there's no meat to what you're saying. wait
do you ever want to gently float up to someone and whisper “this isn’t a debate; i am actually educated on the subject and i’m telling you you’re wrong”
i have a hot take to say
the constant lowering of the bar of what it takes to be a Christian to simply "Oh just affirm that Christ is Lord" has directly led to many pastors in low churches reinventing 3rd century heresies
It's True and you Should say it.
Messaging people for the first time is so hard. What am I supposed to say? Like, "You seem really odd and your blog intrigues me. Do you want to have philosophical conversations or perhaps talk about fictional characters?" What! Whatever. I will just follow you back and stare at your blog with my big beautiful brown eyes.
Reblog if you're okay with people coming into your DMs with the "you seem really odd and your blog intrigues me, do you want to have philosophical conversations or perhaps talk about fictional characters"
Please please please
Can't guarantee I'll respond instantly but I absolutely will not mind/think you're weird
stunning and brave
the idea that dressed boring/plain means a person is boring is well... uh. ok. i'm going to be nice. some of us don't live in outfit world.
I'm of the opinion that if your clothes/'presentation' is the most interesting thing about you, it is you who is boring.
Now debunk it by listing all the responsibilities of a landlord, the legal responsibilities which often enough cause landlords to legally abandon properties because fixing them costs more than they're allowed to make back from rent.
landlords literally provide a service that otherwise wouldn't exist.
I fail to see the problem
My point is to be a landlord all you have to do is own property; but to stay a landlord is a LOT of work. Tons even. Either you work to maintain the property and carefully eek out a profit while staying in the law, or your get sued/prosecuted, or you abandon the property and lose your investment.
agreed. Especially in this legal environment
ilove when someone posts about an issue that's supposedly plaguing society and it's painfully obvious that said issue is not a thing that matters if youre not on tiktok
reminds me of this reddit comment I have saved
wait do people read first person stories and think they're the ones in the story???
Saw people talking about not liking first person, which is fair, but their reasoning was like "I would not do that" and I don't understand that mindset.
First person stories are still about a character. A character making their own decisions. First person isn't about you???? At least I thought it wasn't. What am I missing? I've always seen first person as just a more in-depth look into a character's mind and stricter POV. Not as a reader stand-in.
I see first person stories like I'm sitting down across from the narrator getting the wildest tea imaginable
Most accurate way to read a first person story
"what do I do if I have theories" will always be the fucking funniest reddit post
top tier comedy
Apparently according to my physics professor, everyone in the department gets around 1 email a month from someone like this, explaining their crackpot theory as to something. Normally it’s nonsense but apparently when he was in school, his professor received a letter from some mechanic, who had, largely independently as this was 1960s Georgia(the country), rediscovered general relativity. The professor was so impressed he went and bought the guy basically every physics textbook from undergrad to graduate level and gave them to him.
That IS very impressive.
As I've said numerous times.
10-15 years ago I was certain that religion is the source of many problems within the society.
Now I know that the society itself is rotten and will make a "religion" out of anything.
Things I've seen as replacements for religion over the years include: Politics, "Science", Wokeness and also Atheism.
Man is made to worship. He will make his own idols if need be. He will worship himself, if allowed.
Even the godless worship something.
Chaos is the solution
I remember this argument I had with my brother, who kept trying to tell me that humans would eventually outgrow the need for religion.
"What if some aliens came down and said that there's no God and had absolute proof of it," he asked.
To which I said,
"I'd bet you anything people would start worshipping the aliens."
obra dinn fanfiction where the pocketwatch gets passed down to the inspector's next of kin who also takes up investigative work and it becomes a family heirloom/the secret to the families' success in the business. we follow the inspectors great great grandkid as they try to solve a series of murders in an abandoned 70's ski resort or some shit and instead of MSX graphics it's PS1 graphics
