el-shab-hussein has already explained why he no longer shares how he vets individual fundraisers. scammers will use the information to be less obvious, making it more difficult to spot them.

and senatortedcruz's post has no actual proof of a widespread scam. that is a serious accusation to make, yet people are reblogging it and accepting it as true with no evidence. i won't deny that there are individual grifters on tumblr, but there are accounts like @/neechees, kyra45 and anonthescambuster that will help you avoid them. hussein even has a #scam alert tag for this purpose.

it's racist to spread misinformation about a supposed large-scale deception posing as fundraisers, not to mention dangerous because this makes it less likely for gazans to get what they need to survive and escape relentless airstrikes. we've already seen the consequences of this bias. some of these people are all too happy to be cops and harass or report gazans thinking they're bots or 'spamming' inboxes.

almost nobody on that post is encouraging others to donate to organisations or other vetted lists like those by operation olive branch, which has a faq sheet that explains how they verify fundraisers. i suspect this is an attempt to discourage people from helping palestinians altogether.

gazans are making fundraisers because they have no other choice. many of them cannot work and earn money as their workplaces have been destroyed. some have been disabled by injuries thanks to the iof's targeting of civilians. the fault is on israel for besieging them and on the egyptian government for exploiting their need to evacuate.

they're doing this for the same reason they have been posting photographs and videos of genocide so that people will pay attention to their suffering, so the world will not forget. is it such a leap in logic to understand they will also use social media to start fundraisers? do you just expect them to sit there and die in silence? so you can ignore them and your countries can keep arming israel as it commits atrocities?

That post is horrifying! And more than a thousand people liking and reblogging it??? They could just ask a Palestinian blog how the GFMs are set up. They need to have someone living abroad to set them up because GFM isn't available in Palestine and then transfer the money to the Egyptian brokers or someone near Rafah via one of the few bank transfer services and ATMs that still work, even though more of them are being damaged or destroyed every day, the queues are awfully long and more and more transfer services are charging exorbitant fees or actively blocking transfers like Western Union. They're even using crypto exchanges out of desperation. This is why esims and phones and internet access is so vital to survival.

You can literally just Google all this or send an ask to a Palestinian account or search any social media site for answers. It took me two seconds to find that article. These demons just have an image in their head of what a "real genocide" looks like pulled from some '90s National Geographic photo because the idea of people exactly like them with access to modern communications and tech-savvy, makes them look too much like real humans suffering in the modern world just like people in the Western world. It challenges their bigotry and makes them feel uncomfortable as hell, so they get angry.

That post is a Zionist psy op and the fact that people still can't spot them after ten months is bleak as hell. They all just want their racism validated more than they actually want information.

I find it interesting how people tend to ascribe sentience to characters like the Great Devourer or Wojira given they're treated as literally just big scary animals and are never described with such sentience...

But I find it even more interesting how our female monsters are just mindless beasts while our male monsters are these big ancient evils who've had dangerous ideas in the works for centuries and ohhh once they're free they're really gonna let loose.

Like Ninjago, can we unpack that at least a bit?

Also, neither the Great Devourer nor Wojira are the main villains of their season, unlike the male monsters. Even when they are released, the main male villain of the season attempts to enslave both the Devourer and Wojira.

When Nya merges with the Sea, she loses her humanity and turns into a similarly empty monster with no memories and unable to hold her human form. Meanwhile, the guys unlock their dragon forms one season later and the only punishment they face is that they temporarily can't use their powers (and we never even get to see the consequences of that because it goes straight into DR).

Parachutingkitten delivered the line "Women with power are monsters" in her Ninjago misogyny video about this very topic, and I think about that sentence regularly because it really sums up Ninjago's attitude here.

I’d like to add this photo I took last night in Victoria of the statue of Captain Cook. Though I myself am not indigenous, I 100% agree that these murderers, kidnappers and rapists shouldn’t have huge statues and plaques that decorate them and say how “great” they were.

I had seen the first picture of the church, but not the second.

I went to a “Cancel Canada Day” event and burst into tears - not because I was surprised to learn of the unmarked graves (survivors told us they were there. Our government pushed it aside, and we let them), but because seeing all the people gathered in mourning drove it home: They. Were. Children.

This is my country’s legacy - and it’s not history. The last schools closed during my lifetime. My Father went to school with students who lived at the local residential school, after it was changed to a boarding house (read: holding centre) for indigenous youth who went to local schools.

They were all children, injured, abused, and killed in my country’s attempt to erase them. I want the world to see this and hold the state accountable to *active* reconciliation> I mean we could at least truly adopt UNDRIP in action instead of words for god’s sake.
