[5.9.19] another picture from the previous day, oops. i spent a lot of yesterday cleaning and running errands, after a night of almost no sleep for some mysterious reason. legit could not fall asleep until 5:30 am, woke up at 10 :// anyways, i’ve done 2/5 finals, and my next one is saturday, so i’m starting to prepare as best i can… good luck to all my fellow students prepping for finals or projects or whatever you’re facing rn!!

@ everyone who went through a period of having no friends, who ate alone, who had a point in their life where they were too embarrassed to tell their parents they had no one to play with after school: I love you. I know it hurts and I know it’s hard but it’s not your fault. Things will grow and change. You will find people who you click with and they will love you too. You deserve positive friendship relationships just like anyone else. And if you’re still going through this phase, you’re strong, and things will change for you too. You are not alone, there are people experiencing the same thing you are, find them, you deserve positivity and companionship. Keep your head up.

It gets better. Because you’re not unloveable. Kids are mean or standoffish for lots of reasons, and your experiences as a kid don’t determine your worth, then or now. School can be claustrophobic and cliquey, and it can be hard to understand why things don’t always work out, but the world is vast, and there are so many people out there that you have yet to meet! You’re going to meet lots of new people in life, and there will be people out there who will love spending time with you. It’s OK if you’re sad or angry about it, and it’s OK if it takes time to deal with it, or if it takes time for you to work through how it made you feel. But life is full of change and new people and exciting things for you.

I know you are constantly embarrassed. I know you feel inadequate, like there’s something wrong with you. Ignore those who laugh at you, single you out; they are not worth your time or brain space. You will find your niche.

May be you will never have a buzzing social circle. But you will eventually realise that that’s not for you anyway. And you will make friends; few friends but those will be friend for life. And at the end of the day, that’s all you really need.

I need a noncomprehensive history book that covers Known World History in time periods, like “in this century, all this shit was happening concurrently” and not just all spread out so I have to piece it together like some unpaid uneducated scholar

This is the book you want: The Timetables of History - going year by year (or in the earlier sections, at least century by century) and showing you what was going on in various parts of the world in several categories (e.g. Politics, Literature, Science, etc.)  Super useful for visualizing what events were happening at the same time.

yeah! no being condescending about people’s jobs when you live in a society that benefits from it!

also, low wages have nothing to do with the work not being valuable or difficult (minimum wage jobs can be the hardest in the world, and companies make huge amounts of money from their labor). we just allow corporations to artificially lower wages and mistreat employees.
