Equality or death
It’s a cold and it’s a broken mamma mia
hallelujah, here i go again
SCHOOL OF ROCK 2003 | dir. Richard Linklater
“I’m like, ‘Okay, she’s a doll. She’s a plastic doll. She doesn’t have organs. If she doesn’t have organs, she doesn’t have reproductive organs. If she doesn’t have reproductive organs, would she even feel sexual desire?’ No, I don’t think she could,” Robbie said. “She is sexualized. But she should never be sexy. People can project sex onto her. Yes, she can wear a short skirt, but because it’s fun and pink. Not because she wanted you to see her butt.”
Margot Robbie said Ace Barbie Rights with her whole chest.
Every time I read an interview from someone who worked on this movie it sounds like they went through some sort of spiritual enlightenment
I have more
"No one at Lucky-Chap, Mattel, or Warner Bros. saw any pages of the script until it was finished." And it already shows <3
Roast the fuck out of them. Being family doesn’t mean you ever have to be okay with that shit.
*slow clapping at the dad*
no joke we need the 'free the nipple' movement back. what the hell happened.
i have to watch my spinach cook so without getting too into it i genuinely believe the desexualization of bodies and nudity could solve a shit ton of political problems faced with.
i dont know if anything i say ever makes sense, like obvi not eveything. but i think it would be a huge start in equality and treatmeant in not only women's lives but trans and gay people as well; groups of people who are so often sexualized that doing something as simple or innocent that's seen ok from (most, but i'm aware not all) cis men as literally, walking around without a shirt on, is seen as perverted and dangerous. removing this ideology is giving respect to the bodies of those (that is deserved if and when showing sexuality regardless) who often don't have it by just like. existing within a body. anyone here read the left hand of darkness.
does anyone else remember being terrorized every single commercial break by the madagascar 3 trailer on every single cartoon channel in 2011-2012
fuck you I can hear it
Someone ought to slap the asshole who sang this upside the head
Good news!
I personally think that only attending a handful of your girlfriend’s concerts, being a boring interviewee, being an average actor and not being completely comfortable with your girlfriend’s fame and spotlight are not as bad as mocking WOC, deriding minorities’ accents and laughing about watching the stuff that Matt has watched… but maybe that’s just me…
Once my friend Henry was accused of wearing wireless headphones by a substitute so she said for him to hand them over so he took them off and handed them to her. Then later on she asked him a question and he didn’t respond so she said it louder and he still didn’t respond. She asked why he was not responding and he said “I can’t understand you ma'am, you took my hearing aids.”
HOLY SHIT
one time we had a sub that was handing back papers and called my name. I asked if someone could grab it for me and she started mocking me for not even standing up. taunting me asking why I was not walking up to the front to get the paper myself.
my classmates went dead silent and after the sub’s laughter ended someone informed her that the wheelchair parked nearby belonged to me
I had a sub in English once, on presentation day. And everyone goes up and does their thing, and then its my turn. The whole time im stuttering and mixing up my words, having to stop and re-say my sentences. The rest of the class is used to this and claps. However, by the time its over, the teacher is 100% done.
Starts saying horrible thing about how im going to have to get over my ‘fear of public speaking’ and how she’s heard 8 year olds give better presentations (plus worse things but I don’t really member them). By then im in tears and on the brink of a panic attack, and then she starts telling me off for crying The rest of the class is horrified. Then this boy stands up. He never been my friend and we never really got along, but he’d never bullied me. He told her in a pissed off, cold voice that in freshmen year I got a concussion and that I never really recovered from it, so all that was medical related and I couldn’t help it. Then he starts telling her off and the rest of the class joins him. The teacher is mortified and tries to cover her ass, but the whole class walked out and that boy took me by the shoulders and we all walked to the principles office and told him what had happened. Lets just say she isn’t teaching anymore. Also, turns out that boy had a sister like me, who couldn’t really speak. We’ve been best friends for 8 years and i’ll be his best woman at his wedding next year. The moral is that Teachers, even subs, and adults shouldn’t scold kids before knowing the whole story, because shit like that can fuck up kids self-esteem for the rest of their life.
When I was thirteen, I had to have spinal surgery. When my doctor said I was allowed to attend school again, he said I had to use a wheelchair when on school grounds. My first day back at school, my special-ed teacher had put up a banner in her classroom that read, “There is no elevator to success. You must take the stairs.” I asked what that meant regarding my wheelchair, and she gave me detention for “disrespecting her authority”. The next week she gave us a homework assignment to design a poster that could potentially be used as a Public Service Advertisement. On the due-date, I handed this in.
My special-ed teacher was fucking OUTRAGED. She wanted me expelled for ridiculing her authority in front of the other students. The principal proclaimed my work to be “a masterpiece of satirical genius” and vetoed the special-ed teacher’s attempt to expel me.
Reblogging this post yet again, this time for the masterpiece of satirical genius. Hope the teacher got in trouble.
It’s finally happened.
After almost a decade on this site, I found another Tumblr user in the wild. I stopped to tie my shoe with rainbow laces this morning outside the silversmith at Colonial Williamsburg, and I heard it.
“I like your shoelaces.”
Oh. Oh no.
I responded the only way I could. “Thanks.” And then I reluctantly added, “I stole them from the president…and if that makes sense to you, I’m very sorry.”
The poor man, in full Colonial dress, stared at me for a long moment. And then burst into laughter. And said, “I haven’t thought about that in YEARS and this has never happened to me before.”
Yeah. Me neither. Not until today.
Tumblr rite of passage. Achievement unlocked.
@victoriansecret I found your friend!!!
Taylor Swift, please speak out against Matt Healy’s awful bigoted beliefs and past actions. Refusing to do so makes you complicit. You’re not responsible for his actions, but you’ve always claimed to be an ally and so your words and actions aren’t lining up. Your BIPOC fans, your Jewish fans, your Muslim fans and your LGBTQ+ fans all feel as if you’ve slapped them in the face. We are all hurting. You have a huge platform and so much influence and you’ve turned the safe space you created for us into a space where bigotry and hatred are tolerated and accepted. We don’t feel safe anymore. Please address this. I never speak on your personal life since it’s not my business. But this choice to publicly associate with Matt Healy makes your past allyship look fake and hollow.
When 1989 came out, I was working at a hotel in a nightshift and found love for her through a cover of How You Get The Girl. I began listening to her more and enjoying her albums. I've had some teasing about it, and that was fine. I was super supportive of her due to (what I thought were) her beliefs & stances of situations.
When the rumors of her and Heally dating started, I wasn't going to trust the media since we know they skew everything. But as it's kept going, and more information has come out, and neither PR team is saying they aren't dating. It's real now. And just the idea of them being friends, like you know this man. You know how crude he is and the controversy around him. You know how things were going to look once it was figured out they were dating.
Uhg! Im just glad I didn't pre-order Speak Now TV. Shit like this is why I can never fully jump into anything because people suck and controversy happens even after years of being in the public.
This comment from Reddit made me want to cry.
