if netflix and the duffer brothers fuck up this finale istg i will rewrite the ENTIRETY of season 5 and post it on ao3. AND YOU CAN HOLD ME TO THAT.
so.... there's nearly 800 of you, which is THE largest audience i've EVER had. so first things first, sorry for the wait darlings, i'm currently a whole country outside my home town and had no time to watch it until now. second, my thoughts on the finale are the following:
personally, i think it's a solid ending for the season, but not for the series as a whole. there's SO MANY plot holes, contradictions, and things left unanswered. especially in regards to mike as a character and his and will's relationship. so while i didn't hate it, i also think the finale and season 5 as an entirety could've been written a lot better.
that being said, i will be re-writing season 5 as a fix-it fic (huzzah !!) but... and i'm afraid it's a large but, as i said earlier, i am thousands of miles outside my home town and don't have my laptop with me and i'm not returning until late afternoon on the 9th.
i want to also preface i will be keeping a handful of scenes and elements from the original source material, but adding and tweaking A LOT of other things. i will also be taking a lot of inspiration from multiple different theories and fics (cough cough power outage fic and will's memories being manipulated by vecna) from here, tiktok, and ao3 that i think would've made the season so much better for us as an audience.
and unlike the duffers and netflix, i will be considering what my audience wants through polls on here. thank you all so so so much for bringing my creative spark back and keep your eyes open for the first chapter release !!
