I think there’s a big difference between “banning books” and “restricting access based on age”. If we have a rating system for tv shows and movies that end up restricting the amount of adult themes minors have access to, why are books so different?

My friend shocked me yesterday by saying she didn’t learn to swim until she was 11 because she grew up in a landlocked state and in an area where pools weren’t common either. For the purposes of this poll, let’s say being able to swim counts as you being able to jump into deep water (pool, lake, river, whatever) and easily get out to dry land on your own.

Grew up with (mostly) retired grandparents, and we drove about 45-60 minutes every week or so, so that they could teach me and my twin how to swim. We were about four, if I remember correctly, and about to be taken to Iowa, to our mother, to be enrolled in kindergarten. But they wanted us to know how to swim first, because my twin nearly drowned at three years old. (Saved by a family friend.)

One of the worst lines of the movie, coming from my favorite comics character, made especially awkward/worse because it makes no sense for Hank to say it. Would’ve made more sense coming from someone like Janet, but not after how they did her storyline/characterized her in the movies.

Moon Knight's recent run had some good moments. And Bobby is technically Jewish, but he was raised Catholic. And as far as I know, the Jewish part has rarely, if ever, been explored.

Marvel editorial doesn't give a shit. We need more Jewish writers in the room. We need more Jewish editorial staff in the room. We need more Jews in the room.
