Dangerous ad going around on Tumblr ⚠️

For those who are unaware, there's been ads for a/i chat/bots going around on Tumblr. Specifically for "shapes.inc".

Obviously this is immediately worrying as chat/bots prey on low mental wellbeing, loneliness and someone's desire to interact, to then make them dependant and use their services more.

However, the ads themselves have stopped being quiet about that aspect. Here's one of the most worrying ads (aside the one that legitimately encourages users to make chat/bots of their friends' OCs without their consent, while also trying to claim that its "ethically sourced" - not telling us WHAT'S even sourced here - and therefore "guilt free".)

This is disgusting, plain and simple.

Not only is it directly preying on loneliness outright - it's encouraging a user to make a bot out of someone real without their consent. Not even a friend, no - a MUTUAL. It's encouraging parasocial dependency - just LOOK at what the "OP" is saying here: "RESPOND" "DID YOU DIE?" "PLEASE" "I MISS YOU".

It's not just encouraging parasocial behaviours nor just dependency overall, but encouraging users to breach the others' privacy just so they can pretend they're speaking to them.

Ads like this should not be allowed anywhere. Tumblr needs to get rid of it outright before someone gets hurt.

Also, the censoring is to avoid search exploit spambots. Thank you.

Prism x Coupé

Alice is completely enamored by Janelle's dark and mysterious aesthetic and stoic personality, but she notices over time that Janelle also has a softer or less intimidating side. They both have lived the experience of being black women raised in this crazy world, and Alice sees in Janelle a tenderness that she's had to hide and protect with her life so she could survive the only way she could. Especially being a black woman in America with powers like hers, villainy was an obvious and secure choice for a hardened soldier like Janelle. What would it take to finally meet the Janelle she knew was hiding beneath the blade? Why the hell was she never this nervous with men?? And even though the high-key crazy, morbid shit Janelle talked about (or did when she thought no one was paying attention) freaked her out, why did she keep coming back and hoping she would do some freak shit again?

Janelle on the other hand finds Alice's boisterousness annoying at first, but she respects that Alice doesn't allow herself to be put down or disrespected by the world or people around her. Alice is, to Janelle, a star in every meaning of that word. It only made sense that she should be fond of Alice's presence, the spectacle she presented in her style and voice and her music, and how she shined her light on not only literally in the midst of the brooding darkness Janelle had grown familiar with. Opposites attract, and they were just that, polar opposites. Where Janelle only spoke when spoken to or when no one had the skills or concise language she did, Alice shined a light on most situations where honesty and clear instruction were necessary, even if it felt too blunt to be appropriate but someone had to say it. Janelle respected that. Janelle respected HER. that was surely the reason why she so easily allowed herself to melt at her presence, share her interests with the other woman, and even crave her attention-- her light-- when the dark threatened to consume her. Surely, it was only respect. Maybe even friendship. Surely, the budding feelings she used to have for Colm were misplaced, and not entirely redirected toward the popstar, who made her smile twice as much, laugh twice as hard, and feel seen. Heard. Loved.

Find it so crazy that Coupé x Prism isn't a more popular pairing in the wlw side of the community when they're checking off every usually popular characteristics of a ship. Colourful x Monotone. Flashy x Stoic. Coupé threatening her to not take her knives without permission. Prism then asking Coupé to borrow her mask. Coupé giving her an erotic fantasy book. Prism being the one who wants to play for the faction of darkness while Coupé wants to help the faction of light. The fact that Prism's ability is Photokinesis and Coupé's is Umbrakinesis, making them polar opposites. The way their personalities are a result of growing up without having someone to rely on. fandom etiquette as a whole died when people who didn’t grow up on fandoms became stans during lockdown, yes, but why am i seeing people openly mocking fics on twitter. why am i seeing screenshots of fics with captions like “bro what is this 😭.” why am i seeing people mock fic writers for not knowing how sports or theater or college or any other organization operates in the real world.

if you don’t like a fic, and if you can’t suspend your belief enough to enjoy a fic that exaggerates or ignores real-world orgs, you don’t have to read it. you don’t have to screenshot it and put it on blast for twitter. you don’t have to post a link to it in the replies. the back button is literally there on your phone. it’s not giving baby’s first fandom anymore, it’s giving entitled asshole and it isn’t as cute as you think it is.
