So I had I thought. We all know the Free Trial SMP or 30 DAY SMP didn't go according to plan. A lot of people died within the first few days and people started doing things IRL so the sever just died out. There is this headcanon for the DreamSMP that was used in the Passerine fanfic, but it is basically that Dream can rewrite the story of the SMP. Rewriting what happens in the SMP, making the severe resets every time he does this, causing everyone to lose all their memories of their previous lives and start out a new life. This would explain why everyone in the DreamSMP is just there with no real explanation of where they came from. And it would tie into Karls Tales of the SMP series, as all the characters in the past being the DreamSMP characters pass selves. So what if early on when Dream hadn't restarted the SMP too many times, and he was just figuring things out, what if he made the Free Trial SMP, as well as a trial, to test things out, and he only planned it to stay for 30 days hence the big clock in the sky, and the border would be there so he could keep an eye on everyone and see how they reacted. That would explain why everyone on the 30 Day SMP don't know how they got there or what is happening with the border or large clock.
