whats with the uptick in bisexual women suddenly thinking they’re lesbians? the cognitive dissonance to delude yourself into believing you’re a lesbian because of stereotypes and harmful ideas of what lesbianism is to the point that they almost forget that homosexuality is what makes you a lesbian, not your anger at men or your short haircut. Not your attraction to femininity’ in men. Not your exhaustion with dating men. Yes, many lesbians come out later in life but I think there’s a difference between a homosexual woman who has faced societal pressure to marry men and a bisexual woman who is sick of men despite holding attraction for men.

but yeah anyway i totally understand the nuances that can impact the way someone views their own sexuality and can make them doubt their attraction sometimes but i think theres a difference between someone questioning who they are and engaging in thoughtful self-evaluation and all that and someone who views sexuality labels as similar to aesthetic descriptors and switches from identifying as bisexual to lesbian in a similar manner they’d switch from labeling themselves metal to goth lol. its not wrong to question yourself. it is wrong to ignore that lesbian means something (homosexual female) and instead attributing ‘lesbian’ to a set of stereotypes and an aesthetic to identify into. :3

It's not "evil feminazis treat femininity as inferior". Patriarchy collected 'inferior' attributes — more precisely, 'attributes which are usually related to being submissive rather than being dominant, being passive rather than being assertive, being a slaver rather than being a master, and therefore useful tools for controlling and belittling others' — and labeled them as feminine.

Skirts, high heels, long hair, and wearing makeup are not inherently feminine. Being petite or slender or curvy isn't inherently feminine. Being quiet and gentle and docile isn't inherently feminine. These things are the reins that help men control and domesticate women as they like. 'Feminine' clothes and makeups restrain women from physically using their body freely; 'feminine' body requires women to go through various things which are dangerously unhealthy or completely unnecessary; women being quiet, submissive and passive make them easier targets for men to control; etc etc. These kinds of 'femininity' are the signs of a slave.

And misogynists say that feminists who criticize these things are misogynistic for talking bad about femininity and tomboys who don't want these things are actually trans or non-bi or genderfluid or whatever other bullshit for refusing femininity.

Fuck it, really.

Those things don't define being female. Not wanting those things doesn't mean we refuse to be female or secretly want to be male. That means we want to be human. Not a collective concept of frilly clothes and makeups and slender, hairless body and submission but fucking human.

This is why Korean radical feminists started 'off the corset' movement which now evolved into 6b4t. Lipstick feminists and choice feminists still have a long way to follow.

gynecology is a medical field chock full of absolute barbarism. it is well known that the origins of its practices stemmed from using enslaved women as experiments, with no anesthesia. rape and the dismissal of our pain is baked into the practice. women need to be screened for all of these related issues, but gynecology and the wider sphere of medicine in general have done everything in their power to alienate women from necessary care by dismissing our pain. it’s not frivolous. they don’t care. and this lack of care on the part of gynecology is what kills women, not women’s fear and avoidance of rape and pain.

you want women to get pap smears? demand that these evil and sadistic gynecologists offer sedation in all of their offices. they can do it. they won’t do it because they believe our pain is frivolous, and they will tell you as such. they think sedation is a cheat code, they think it’s far too much to ask for, because women asking to bypass pain is always viewed as a sign of immaturity. they will attribute our fear to a matter of psychology instead of a matter of objective self-protection. they are evil.

after over a decade of attempting to get pap smears, failing, crying because i failed to be a big girl by failing to endure the pain, and then coming to the realization that it is the gynecologists who are wrong and it is them who are failing women, the only way i was able to do it was via sedation. after visiting multiple different practices over the years, i’ve come to the conclusion that it is a medical and social crime against women that sedation is not offered. it’s not a perfect solution, but it is a much better, more constructive solution than telling women their pain and fear of rape is frivolous. we’re not insane and we’re not immature. we just live in a male supremacist hellscape.
