Here are some more headcanons:
Will has scars from the Upside-Down, getting possesd and his excoricm
Will uses his staff to learn to control his magic at first. After making friends with someone from the Hyphestus Cabin, his staff got an "makeover". It now holds a bit of celestial bronze, and Will can transform it into different forms, so that he doesnt have to drag it as a staff everywhere (He keeps it as a pencil, with which he can actually sketch with (okay, got me, it is inspired by Riptide); as a weapon for hand-on-hand fights, he transforms it into a dagger or a sword (depending on the enemy, honestly))
After a hard fight, his staff broke. Of course, he was heartbroken after all, it was the staff that Mike found for him when they were younger because he had it since he was a child, but also because it helped him to figure out how to use magic, to channel the magic, it protected him, and followed him throughout the years. After not knowing what he could use as a weapon, he walked through the forest in Camp Half-Blood, where he found the perfect staff. Literally. It is a bit longer than his old one, it has a saffron-ish/yellow-orange-ish color (referring to Hecate's luminous, divine nature, and is often associated with her connection to the crocus flower), and on top, it has a purple crystal (which represents Hecate's association with magic, witchcraft, and the third eye). On the staff's body are also runes engraved, and not knowing what they mean, he goes to Athena's cabin. They explain to him that they are three different runes that are often associated with Hecate, his mother.
The thurisaz-rune: it represents overcoming obstacles, unlocking potential, and confronting challenges
The Kaunaz-rune (Kenaz): it represents the forge-fire of creation, guiding light, and the torch; It is also associated with artistic inspiration, learning, and understanding
The perthro-rune: It is used in divination to represent chance, luck, or secrets. It also encourages navigating life's risks, making the best of unforeseen circumstances, and embracing the unknown.)
His new staff doesn't have celestial bronze in it, but Stygian Iron
After Mike finds out that Will's staff broke he is devastated, because he thinks Will could have broken it on purpose
Before Will went for the first time to Camp Half-blood, he and Mike had The Fight ("It's not my fault you don't like girls"). It happened because Will wanted to play a last campaign before Dustin, Max (more to her later/further down), and he left Hawkins over the summer. Mike wanted to hang out with Jane alone, and when Will was calling him out for being a bad friend, Mike hit him with the sentence. Will just asked him, "What does it have to do with anything at all? I just wanted to spend time with you before I- we have to leave." He didn't take his bike, but just run walked away. Outside is a heavy mist due to the rain, he doesn't realize it, but Will teleported for the first time. To Castle Byers. It took a lot of energy out of him, and he just fell asleep.
Mike just blinked, and Will was gone. Literally, out of his eyesight in a second. Of course, he panics and contacts everyone. Joyce finds him asleep in Castle Byers, takes him home, and tells everyone he os safe. Will sleeps until he has to leave for camp. (Mike thinks it is his fault that Will doesn't hang out with them these days.)
Arriving at Camp, he sees two faces that he knows... Chance and... Max?
Chance leaves him alone for a bit until Will tries to train. (Keyword: tries). Seeing how bad in shape Will is, Chance starts helping him. He tells Will that he probably doesn't know him because he is not as famous as Will ("I mean, you are Zombie-boy. Everyone in Hawkins knows the kid that came back to life. Say, does it have to do anything with your godly parent? Do you even know who it is?"). Will answers his questions, but also asks him not to call him that, and afterwards Chance never calls him it again. (At least in camp).
Will tells Joyce that he should stay at camp. Full-time, because he wants his family and friends to be safe. Will and Joyce made an agreement. The Byers move to New York, Jonathan will go to NYU; Will will be home on the weekends, but during the week, he is in Camp. Argyle lives in New York. He and Jonathan are still besties who enjoy the devil letters together. Jonathan can see through the mist thanks to weed.
I'm thinking about making him a son of Aphrodite
magical control over clothes, makeup, and jewelry

Charmspeak: (not all children of Aphrodite) can influence others with the strength of their voices. (I think this could be fun, if Chance had this ability)

Will only shares P.E. with Lucas after the summer break, and Luca's seeing that, he is "Oh my god. No wonder why Dustin told me not to worry about Max and Will.")
"When children of Nike wear laurel wreaths on their head they typically get a boost of energy and strength." All of those abilities are not really mentioned in the books, so I don't really know if they're canon or not. I found this list on fandom.com!)
Chance doesn't know what to do with Will, so he leaves him alone at first. After seeing his scars while Will tries to train, Chance approaches him, and over the summer they get really close. Before leaving for Hawkins (Chance, Max and Will travel together back), Chance asks him what really happened, when he vanished. Chance also reassures him, that he is not going to be mad if Will doesn't want to tell him. He suspects at first it was because he is a demigod, but then Will hits him with everything. "AND than I threw up slugs-" "Will, what the fuck?"
Max doesn't really trust Chance at first (she wants to look out for Will), but then she clocks Chance's crush and tells him to stay away from Will. "Just because you know about the Mind-Flyer-" "I thought you knew better than to say names." "It's not his real name. Don't interrupt me. Just because you know what happened doesn't mean you understand everything. I'm not saying you can't be friends, but that's it. You are going to be just Friends. Understood?"
Chance understood, a bit too well. He starts to hang out with Will; invites him to his basketball games; they train together; Offers himself when Will wants to try out something new (Spells, poison, etc.). The Party is so irritated by their new friendship; Mike loathes him, Lucas tries to understand their relationship to each other (are they a couple? besties? Friends with benefits?); Dustin is confused by their friendship, but doesn't mind it; Max is ready to kick Chance's ass, if he only dares to look at Will in that way (Mike and Max bond over that, but for completely different reasons.); Jane thinks he is nice ("He is nice to Will. So, how bad could he really be, if he looks out for him?")
I made her in my AU a daughter of Ares, because I thought it was fitting. Her personality, especially in season two, made me think about it. Also, Madwise deserves a better-written friendship, so why not by making her a demigod?
(I mostly chose Ares because Max reminded me a bit of Clarisse, but also because of their powers, and thought it kinda fits Max as well:
They have increased strength, durability, and endurance
They can control the souls of soldiers (Her and Will could bond over the fact that their powers are both connected to necromancy)
They can manipulate weaponry
Manipulate feelings and emotions (mostly hate, rage and fear) (She loves to mess with Mike, and get him all worked up; sometimes Will will only laugh because the fight was petty, but most often he just says "Max, it's enough. Look at him. His face could make a tomato jealous". Of course, only loud enough for Max to hear.)
Summon and manipulate armor
Able to control fire, as well as being immune to it
They can manipulate the motion of molecules (For example, they can change temperature by changing the motion of the molecules)
They can boost their abilities when they are angry
Also, they have war-related powers)
I like to think that because she and Will are Vecna's biggest obstacles (with them being descendants of the god of war, and the goddess of witchcraft), he has it out for them. (Chance, son of Nike here, "blessed" them, which could be the explanation on to why Max survived Vecna's attack.)
When first exploring her powers, she wasn't able to control the emotion manipulation (People she was afraid of were the most effected like Billy)
When Max finds out that Will wants to stay in camp, she first tries to talk him out of it, but when he explains his reasons, she understands. Everything that happened with the Upside-down, and now being a Demigod. At least in New York, he can be a little bit safer.
Of course I have waaaayyy more ideas (WonderTwins, Henderhop, LuMax, Past-Lesbyler (HEAR ME OUT, OKAY), Will the Wise, Hecate being a good mother, Hopper being a good Stepfather (I already have an idea, how they tell him that Will is a demigod), AND SO ON OH MY GOD).
I don't know if anyone will read all of that, lol, but I can safely say that I'm currently planning to write this AU!
I have exams for the next few weeks, so I'm planning to post the first chapter in around two weeks! Of course, I'm gonna post an announcement when the time arrives! Stay safe 💜
