Why IchiHime was obvious as hell for endgame (regardless of the fandom’s denial about it)

–IH has been obvious since the pilot chapter. Ichigo and Orihime had mutual romantic feelings for each other in the bleach prototype, Kubo’s original plan for bleach. Here’s a post on it. –If you really, truly want to argue that Ichigo and Orihime “barely had any moments!” luckily, I was insane enough to create a masterpost with links to every single IH moment in the manga (which had to be split in half because it literally broke due to having too many links on it). Part One is here, Part Two is here. It has over 377 links. Say what you will, but IchiHime has the most moments of any other pairing by a landslide (particularly in the final arc, which was most telling for canon). –The last 15 chapters of the manga were filled with positive IchiHime moments and development. Kubo, building up to the final chapter, knowing that there wasn’t a lot of time left, and with so many other options to choose from (including other ships) willingly chose to write about IchiHime. He did that.

–The amount of focus that was put on Ichigo’s desire to protect Orihime specifically is MASSIVE. It was made more than apparent how much Ichigo cared about Orihime and how important she was to him, by the level of focus that was put on Ichigo’s protectiveness over her, specifically. It’s something that singled her out as special and set her apart from the others, time and time again. It was consistently emphasized in the manga, and, conversely, so too was Orihime’s desire to protect Ichigo specifically. Their mutual desires to protect each other was a recurring theme. Don’t believe me? That’s okay, I’ve made a masterpost on this too, which you can find here. Warning, it’s long. –It isn’t just Orihime’s physical well-being that Ichigo is protective of; he’s always been protective of her emotional well-being, too. He’s considerate of her feelings and does not like it when people are mean to her. He has jumped to her defense multiple times. See this post. –Throughout the series, most of Ichigo’s enemies have targeted Orihime specifically just to get to him or taunt him into a fight, further singling her out and highlighting the obvious soft spot Ichigo has for her. This is a CLASSIC romantic trope, and a recurring theme Kubo used with IchiHime again and again. Here’s a post on it. –Ichigo is open and receptive to Orihime’s displays of her feelings for him in positive ways. The fact that she cares about him so much doesn’t bother him in the slightest. I get the excitement, but please do not tell people to kill themselves over this. I don’t even really have to explain why that’s shitty, but come on. And if you see people doing that, call them out man. That’s not okay. I get ichihime we’re excited, but ships are really personal. You pour your soul into them and not everyone who’s sad about ichiruki is an asshole.

I’ve seen this already and it’s just really gross. Like, I’m damn excited ichihime is canon, but not at the cost of someone taking their own life.

Now, unlike most people, I’m perfectly fine with the two main endgame pairings in Bleach. Why? BECUASE THEY ACTUALLY HAD FUCKING DEVELOPMENT. If IchiRuki had been made canon, there would still be salty-ass IchiHime and RenRuki fans screaming “Omg how could Tite Kubo pull a Kishi!?” or “The ending fucking sucks! Let me give you reasons why IchiRuki came out of nowhere and why RenRuki/IchiHime should’ve been canon!”, etc.

PLEASE. STOP. RIGHT. THERE. Listen to yourselves. Please.

There’s nothing wrong with shipping IchiHime, IchiRuki, or RenRuki. It’s perfectly fine to be upset that your otp didn’t become canon. EVERY ONE OF THESE PAIRINGS HAD VALID POTENTIAL, IF YOU LOOK REALLY HARD ENOUGH. But if you’re gonna try to compare Naruto’s trainweck ending to the realistic ending of Bleach, I’m gonna have to ask you to go back to the beginning of the manga and read it again.

Bottomline: IchiHime is nothing like NaruHina. RenRuki is nothing like SasuSaku. 

Oh, and to all the IchiHime & RenRuki fans that are also SasuSaku and/or NaruHina fans that wanna go around saying “So glad BOTH my otps are canon!” or “Feels good to be on the winning team <3″ please shut the fuck up and knock it the fuck off. There’s nothing wrong with being happy your pairings are official, but do not 1) compare IchiHime or RenRuki to the shitty canon!NH or canon!SS 2) Put down IchiRuki fans, cuz we know y’all asses would be mad as hell and bitching about the same shit.

Ichiruki is better than ichihime

All this shipping war between Ichihime and Ichiruki makes me sick. Its Naruto all over again, can’t people argue about how the ending was rushed, the many plot holes Kubo won’t be answering? No, instead they care about stupid ships, and can’t be happy for the characters they knew for this many years. Hope the best for Kubo with his next work, and may he learn for his mistakes.
