I've worked with deities for a few years now, but recently I've began to feel uneasy about my connections or less confident. I'm not sure if it's what's going on astrologically rn or what, but my pendulums has started to give me new, negative answers to all the questions I have gotten positive reactions on for about a year now. It sent me into a Tower moment, for sure. I took a break to get my head together and to not disrupt any communication with my energy at the time. Went back to get clarity, and still am finding startling communication.
At first, I thought it was Lilith bc she has done this to me before, but many years ago until I put a boundary up.
But this feels different.
I have friends who speak with demons. Not really something I feel a desire to understand now or potentially ever.
I've tried looking up some things, but still feel at a loss.
I was curious to know if this has ever occurred to you or someone you know and potentially what a demon may want from someone bc it certainly doesn't feel protective. It's very much shaken my faith the way it's played out.
Thanks for your time.
well Lilith is a closed demon so im not sure its her.
but no, ive personally never experienced this. perhaps it is time to reconnect with yourself and give your divination tools a much needed rest.
this could be them telling you to focus on yourself and what makes you happy and to stop searching for answers all the time? /info
Hello there my beautiful Glamour witch! I see you have a lot of beautiful necklaces/rings/bracelets that you want to enchant! Have no fear, here is how you can do so!
There are many ways to enchant jewelry just like there are many ways to enchant anything. You can use oils, moonlight, sigils, spells, etc. Each piece of jewelry will need a different way to enchant it, so here are the steps you can take to do so.
Moonlight: Moonlight is a good way to cleanse your jewelry and to enchant it with a feminine energy. Sunlight is good for masculine energy, so please utilize both of these methods. Feminine energy can help you stay calm, collected, and “soft” while the masculine energy can help you demand attention and respect. You CAN mix jewelry that has been enchanted by both, but please do not enchant the same item with both (it may just cancel out instead of doubling.)
Oils: Essential oils are wonderful in moderation. Do not soak your accessories in it, but a few tiny drops won't really hurt anything, it would be like using body spray on them (which you can also do!) Use scent associations to help enchant your jewelry like this.
Sigils: You can create enchanting sigils for your jewelry and place them in boxes or bags to hold in the intentions.
Color Magic: For jewelry that has color on it, use those colors and meditate with your accessory to add intention and enchant them. Please see a list of colors and what their meanings are to help you with this path.
This is just a couple of ways you can enchant jewelry. Please let me know if you would like me to expand on any of these methods! Please consider donating so you can keep seeing wonderful free posts like this! It really helps!
Here is a very small list of symbols that either mean protection or bring protection. Please let me know if you would like me to elaborate on any of the mentioned symbols or if you have any questions on other symbols.

This is also called a Celtic Triple Knot.

Protection, courage, and strength
Mistletoe

Said to protect against Evil Spirits (and witches lol)
Ankh
Egyptian

Celtic Shield Knot

Uses the five elements (earth, air, water, fire, spirit) to protect the wearer
There are many types of elemental spirits in the realm of mythology and witchcraft. The most important thing to know about these spirits is that each species has a different set of rules and a different moral code. I know working with them may sound cool and fun, but to safely do so, you would need to learn each species' codes of conduct to be both respectful and safe.
The term spirit is used as an umbrella term in this situation. It could be used to describe ghosts, demons, faeries, nymphs, etc. Anything that embodies the “spirit” of one of the elements: Air, Earth, Water, and Fire.
We will start with Water Spirits.
This category would include:
Merpeople
Sirens
Selkies
Kelpies
Grindylows
Naiads
Camenae
Gwragedd Annwn
Water spirits are mostly known to be tricksters and pulling pranks on humans who interrupt their ways of life. Many of these species have tragic tales of how they came to be. Selkies are shapeshifting seal women that lounge around the coasts of Scotland and Wales. If a man were to steal their fur coat, they would be doomed to a life of land until their coat is given back. Mermaids are typically women that were found to be stowaways on pirate ships. Their legs were tied and they were thrown overboard in hopes of drowning. Many water spirits are deemed “vengeful” towards men (for good reason), which is why the element of water tends to be a Feminine element.
Our next element will be Air.
This category will include:
Sylphs
Pixies
Harpies
There is not a lot of information about strictly “air” elementals. Just because a creature can fly, does not make it an air elemental. For example, Dragons would be considered a fire elemental even though they can fly. Air elementals don't avoid or seek out humans, however they can be tricksters when need be.
Next is Earth. This will include:
Brownies
Dwarves
Bogles
Dryads
Unicorns
These creatures, while not actively seeking out humans, may help humans in times of need. Please do not take their hospitality for granted and DEFINITELY read up on their customs before attempting to work with them.
Last would be Fire. This would include:
Dragons
Phoenix
Salamanders
Angels
Fire giants
These creatures actively seek solitude. They most likely will not interact with humans, even if called upon, which is why Angel work and Dragon work is so hard to get into.
This is by no means a complete list of elementals, they are just the most common ones of each category. Please let me know if you would like me to do a more indepth post on a specific species.

MABON is the pagan holiday of the second harvest. It typically falls between September 20th and 23rd, however you can celebrate for as long as you please. This is also called the Autumn Equinox and it is when the days start to get shorter and cooler outside. This is a period of hardwork and change, but also balance as this is when the day and night are equal. Many pagans consider this a time to give thanks to loved ones and the earth for a healthy harvest. In this post, I will discuss how to celebrate, what to expect, spell work, and much more.
What are some symbols of Mabon?
Apples are a huge symbol of Mabon. They represent fertility though the soil and health through the body. Grapes and wine are another big symbol, especially in Greece or with Greek Pagans. There is a harvest festival of grapes around this time in honor of Dionysus. Seeds are another obvious sign as this is when you start to store your seeds for the next spring. Baskets for the harvest and harvesting tools like sickles are also symbols of the holiday. For herbal witches, some herbs you might use are acrons, grains, honeysuckles, rose, and tabacco (be responsible). Kitchen witches might make bread, or foods using apples, nuts, or pomegranates. Stews with potatoes, carrots, and onions are also very popular. Color witches should wear more Earthy tones like deep reds and browns. Gold would be a wonderful enhancement! Crystal witches should stock up on sapphire, lapis, and golden agates.
Some ways to celebrate:
You can celebrate Mabon by drying herbs, making wines and ciders for the cooler months, going on nature walks to respectfully find new decor for your altars, adorning burial sites of loved ones, making bird feeders. This is a time to really remember your loved ones as you celebrate the harvest and thank them for protecting you and your home.
Types of witches that go BONKERS for Mabon:
Hedge witches, cottage witches, garden witches!
Deities that represent the season:
Greek: Demeter, goddess of the harvest. Persephone, Goddess of spring and Queen of the Underworld. Her story of following Hades to the Underworld is the reason we have Autumn and Winter anyway! Dionysus, god of wine. Cronos, Titan of the Harvest. Gaia, Mother Earth.
Celtic (British, Irish, Scottish, and Welsh): Mabon ap Modron, God of Freedom (Welsh). The Green Man, spirit of the woods (British). Modron, Mother Goddess (Welsh). Lugh, god of balance and the harvest (Celtic).
Roman: Pomona, Goddess of Fruit Trees. Bacchus, god of wine. Ceres, goddess of the harvest.
Norse: Freyr, god of farming. Gefjon, god of the harvest.
Slavic (Russian, Belarusian, Ukrainian, Latvian, Estonian, Polish, Lithuanian, sometimes Finnish): Žemyna (Lithuanian), mother-goddess of agriculture. Jarilo, god of vegetation and the harvest.
Egyptian: Osiris, god of agriculture. Renenutet, goddess of the harvest.
Christianity: St. Isidore of Farmers.

Zodiac signs used to be a measure if dates and times, as when that specific constellation lined up in the sky. Now, they can be used as personality tests or the likes. You may have heard someone refer to another person as an Aries or a Scorpio if they are acting hardheaded or mean.
While some people take Zodiac signs seriously and will even break up relationships based on sign compatibility, it is really just a part of astrology.
Personality Traits
A persons personality can be broken up into their Big Three: Sun Sign, Moon Sign, and Rising Sign. All of these can be calculated using a basic website for star charts. Below I will add a good list I have found for which planetary placement means.
Each zodiac is also associated with the four elements: Earth, Air, Water, and Fire.
Earth Zodiacs: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
Water Zodiacs: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
Air Zodiacs: Libra, Aquarius, Gemini
Fire Zodiacs: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
Earth signs are said to be level headed and practical. Water signs are sensitive and imaginative. Fire signs are independent and confident. Air signs are social butterflies and witty. While these aren't fact, they tend to be well received stereotypes of the signs.
Depending on which signs are in your chart, your personality will differ. Lets start with sun signs.
Sun Signs
Your sun sign is the basis of your personality. It is the stereotype people see when they meet you. This is commonly referred to as just your zodiac sign, the stars you were born under. I am a Pisces sun, and I like to think I am imaginative and whimsical
Moon Signs
Moon signs are how your emotions work and how you present them. They are how you work though stress and the likes. Im a Libra Moon, and I tend to bottle up my emotions.
Rising Signs
Your rising is how you carry yourself ad complete your daily tasks. As a Leo Rising, I tend to take on too much and then get burnt our quickly.
What ever your mix of these three are, you'll get a different mix each time. They arent an overly important subject to learn for witchcraft, but it is fun and a good base for astrology.
Are you a witch? Are you getting married? Do you want to honor your practice in your wedding with or without pissing off your extremely religious in-laws? Then please stay tuned!
There are many ways to incorporate your beliefs and practice into your wedding, and many ways to alter the ritual to either appease or hide it from those who may not agree with your practice. There are many cultural practices you can follow (just make sure you are researching closed practices and stick only to the ones you can follow), and many ways to include your gods and goddesses to your wedding with little to no speculation. Unless, you want people to know, then I will make sure to write about those as well.
Number One: A Handfastening.
What is a hand fastening? A hand fastening is when you intertwine three pieces of rope into a braid across your hand and your partner's hand. It is typically found in traditional Celtic Pagan weddings, however many religions are now adopting this practice to add it to their own weddings. It doesn't have to just be a Pagan wedding, as I have seen Christians do it and use God/Jesus as the center rope and themselves as the other two ropes. You may choose to use a deity you worship to be the center rope, you can simply dedicate the center rope as your life or your love for one another wrapping around the two of you. The possibilities are endless and it is an easy and very down-low practice to do. To add a little more magic to it, braid your own cords and add protection charms with your fiance. It not only makes the cord more meaningful, but it is a bonding experience and you get to put all the love and happiness you feel for each other into making it.
Number Two: Crystals.
Crystals are cool, they look like shiny rocks, and most people wouldn't look twice if there are a few crystals on the tables or in your flowers. I will be giving everyone in my bridal party selenite (to protect and cleanse) and rose quartz (to bring in love). This is a cute idea and you can even do a ritual before you go out to calm your nerves with quartz and amethyst.
Number Three: Veils
Veils were used in ancient times to confuse spirits and to protect the bride from spirits that wanted to take her. This is a very easy way to add a layer of magic to the wedding, as you can enchant the veil to repel negativity and harm. Also, veils are so widely used these days that people would be considered crazy if they questioned why you were wearing a veil.
Number Four: Set up a Wedding Altar
A wedding altar can be as simple as the table you set up for the guest to sign the guest book. Add pictures of you and your fiance, pictures of married couples in your family that have passed, crystals, candles, the works. People will simply think you have a very nicely decorated table for the guests. You can also add small tokens of your deities to the table to tie it into the over all theme or to just add a pop of color. I am having a slightly Tangled themed wedding so I will be adding little suns to the table for Apollo!
Number Five: Spell Satchels
You can make a small spell satchel to wear under your dress for protections and love. Rose petals, rose quartz, rosemary, bay leaves with intentions writen on them, and pink salt would be good to add. You can tie it to your garter (if wearing one/wearing a dress) or put it in your suit pocket. They are small enough to not even be noticed by others.
Number Six: Exchanging of Swords
The exchanging of swords was very big in Norse Weddings. To sum it up, the Groom and Bride exchange swords to vow to protect each other until and past death. Another wedding tradition is to gift the Bride with a kitten to promote protection and to help catch mice and rats. I, personally, don't think this practice should ever go away.
Number Seven: Go barefoot.
Connect to the Earth as you walk down the aisle. Feel the ground and let it center and ground you to the moment.
These are just a few ways you can connect your practice to your wedding. If this blows up enough, I may make a part two! I will also be starting reguluar updates about my own wedding and how I am witching it up! Stay tuned and drink water!

Deity work is when you open your energies and attention to a Deity you wish to engage in a working relationship with. Typically this is a give and receive type of relationship in which you are giving the deity offerings and the deity is giving you advice or help in someway in return.
Working vs Worshipping.
When you are working with a deity, there is either a verbal or nonverbal agreement that you are both contributing to the encounter. Either bein through offerings and knowledge or offerings and company. Worshipping is very one sided, when you are simply leaving offerings for a deity or entity and expect nothing in return.
Patron and Matrons.
A patron or matron deity is one that you have an extremely deep connection with. They typically helped you find your path or have helped you through a tough time. They appreciate offerings and such, however they have also stuck with you through low or zero offering times. In my case, Apollo is my patron.
How Does One Start Deity Work?
You have to know three things before you even consider deity work. Protection, banishing, and vetting. Once you have these three things down, then you may continue on researching the deity you wish to reach out to.
Step One: Protection.
You need to know how to protect yourself before you even consider deity work. This can be done by casting a circle, cleansing your space, and creating sigils. There are many other ways, but I seem to find these the easiest.
To cast a circle, you need to know a little energy work. You should stand in a quiet space with little to no distractions and focus on pushing your energy out around you. This can be aided with salt in a circle around your practicing space. Focus on pushing your energy out to the salt ring and hold it. Please note that if you leave the circle, the circle breaks and will need to be redone. This may take a few tries to get down, and it can be very tiring, so please give yourself grace.
Next is cleansing. Cleansing should be one of the first things you learn when you start your practice. Cleansing can be broken into two sections: intention and tools. It is semitrue that you dont need anything to practice witchcraft, but it makes things a lot easier.
When I cleanse, I only think my enchantments, but you can say them outloud if that helps you focus. An easy way I cleanse my space is by sound cleansing and cleaning supplies. I typically will put on an upbeat song that makes me feel happy and refreshed and then go to town with disinfecting wipes, a broom, and a Swiffer. Simply cleaning your space is a part of cleansing that is greatly overlooked. Other ways you can cleanse are through charged crystals, singing, dancing, sigils, and wands. Please find whatever works for you best, as everyone is different.
Speaking of sigils, they are super easy to make and can be made with whatever you have lying around. There are so many ways to make one, but my favorite way is to write down what my intention is and then I organize the letters of the intention alphabetically and cross out the doubles. I do a doodle with the remaining letters and boom, sigil. But you can also free scribble or look up a unique way to do the sigil. There is no limit to chaos magic. Once youve made your sigil, you can place it in your work space to aid in protection.
In lieu of a sigil, you can set up wards. I recommend everyone has at least one ward in their house. It wards away negative energy and are typically pretty simple to make. They can be a spell jar with protection as the base, or a satchel. Some people use sigils as wards, however the sigils need to be refreshed more often.
Step Two: Banishing.
Once you've gotten protection down, you can move onto banishing. Banishing is draining and very not beginner friendly, but is a necessity if you wish to work with entities and deities. It would suck if you accidently invited a negative spirit into your space and now you can't get rid of it. Here are a few steps you can take to banish.
One: Ask.
You can simply ask the energy to leave. Most of the time, passing energies or lingering energies (please refer back to cleansing) can get suck in circles and that is who you are talking to. They don't really want anything to do with you so simply open the circle and let them leave! An easy way to avoid this is to be very specific with who or what you want to enter your space. If you invite all of the energies in by saying something along the lines of "I invite anyone to speak to me," then you are going to get a lot of strays.
Two: Cleanse again
Okay, so you asked the energy to leave and they either ignored you or refused. It's time to cleanse again. You need to be more forceful with this cleansing, but not rude. "Please leave," may or may not be enough to deter them, but "I demand you leave," may seem too rude if the energy isn't actively harming you. My personal favorite is either "You don't have to go home but you can't stay here," or "I was expecting someone else, but thank you for stopping by." Very firm but not rude.
Three: Demand
So now you've asked nicely and firmly. You know this energy is not welcome and has intention of harming you. Cast a new circle, deep cleanse AGAIN and demand the spirit leaves. Candles are a huge help and if it is too much for you to handle on your own, you can request the help of ancestors or another diety you work with. Now you're allowed to be forceful.
The last step is vetting.
What is vetting?
To vet a deity is to make sure that it is who you think it is. In the realm if worshipping and working with deities and entities, vetting is extremely important so you know exactly who or what you are devoting your time and energy too.
How does vetting help?
It helps by ensuring you are speaking to the right entity. There are many trickster spirits out there that want you to believe they are someone else so they can gain access to your attention and energy. It would suck if you thought you were giving energy to a god or goddess and it turns out to be a trickster.
How does one vet?
This is a broad question that doesn't have a singular answer. My personal favoritr way to vet takes a while, because I want to be 100% certain that this is who I want and need to be speaking to.
1. I do three separate forms of divination for every encounter. I ask personal questions about deities like their symbols and offerings. If im using pendulum, I ask a few questions and I repeat them using different words. If I get the wrong answer (say, I were to ask if Apollos bird was a swan and the energy replied yes) I know its not the energy or entity I thought it was. I do this for multiple sessions to be sure. I also use tarot cards and ask similar questions. My last form of divination i bibilomancy. I open to a random page and read the first paragraph that catches my eye. If it has any symbols if the deity, I am a little more sure of who I am speaking too.
2. I meditate on it and open myself up to thoughts. I go completely off of intuition here and if I continually keep thinking of symbols or the deity themselves, I know I am speaking to the diety. This is something that took me a long time to get good at, so please be gentle with yourself.
3. Last, I go off of pure intuition. Sometimes, I just feel a wave if relief when I start to vet, where all my anxieties are gone, which is another very good sign. But please remember that this also took me a long time to realize, so be gentle with yourself.
When you first start deity work, please keep these steps in mind. I really dont want to see anyone start to worship a trickster under the guise of a deity. Be safe out there!
How to incorporate yarn crafts into your cottage magic journey!
If you are a witch that likes to journal or keep a book of shadows, you can use this to help plan out your crafts. You can write down what you want to make, your goals, the colors, and what hooks you are using. This allows you to focus your intentions, your goals, and even color magic into the craft! Crocheting and knitting can also be calming and possibly meditative! It can help you get ready for a different spell as well, if you are not using the yarn for the spell itself!
This can also be a form of knot magic, and you can focus protection or any other outcome as you work and make your stitches/knots in the yarn/string! You are most likely zoning out anyway while working, so thinking about your intentions should be easy to do in the moment. If knot (:3) then you can write your intentions in a journal to help you!
You can also burn incense or a candle while you work to help calm yourself, breathe life into the craft, and help set your intentions.
Did you know that you can make a familiar out of yarn? They obviously behave differently from a living familiar but they are still used for protection and companionship!
Yarn can also be used for jinxing and hexing. You can weave your intentions into the yarn and then burn it at the end of the project. Please make sure you are being careful and practicing proper fire safety!
You can also make offerings with the objects you’ve made. Remember, deities often prefer handmade offerings than store bought offerings!
As most of you know, it is springtime in the northern hemisphere. Bees are starting to come out of hibernation, the birds are coming home, flowers are blooming everywhere. This is a time of refreshment, cleaning, learning new skills for the year ahead of us. Over the next month (the month of April), I will be writing about cottage craft. This is the theme for this spring, to see if it calls to anyone.
What is cottage craft?
Cottage witchcraft is the path of homemaking. It is a large blanket terms that covers cleaning magic, cooking magic, gardening magic, animal magic, and most hobby magic. It can be used to describe any type of magic that you use to better your home and your loved ones. On the more extreme sides, it can also cover chaos magic, sex magic, and death magic. Cottage witches are also known as House Witches or Hearth Witches. Many witches that follow this path land in the “Right Hand Path” or the “Middle Path” when talking about their practice. Many focus on protection and healing, abundance (food, money, love, etc.), and personal goals. These goals can focus from expanding your path to getting very good at a new hobby.
How does one begin to work in the Cottage Path?
It is an easy and beginner friendly path to follow. If you already cook or clean, you are already heading in the right direction. If you know how to cook eggs and sweep a kitchen, you are ready to be a cottage witch.
Okay, but it has to be harder than that? What are some subcategories of cottage witches?
Tea witchcraft: One who heals and teaches through tea and tea leaves. Typically can read tea leaves and other divination forms that involve tea or coffee! They have a knack for knowing what teas will cure what ailments!
Green witchcraft: One who practices through the wild and domesticated plants. Very good at working in a garden or identifying plants in the world.
Flower Witches: Good at flower language, color magic, and identification of flowers on the fly.
Insect Witches: Very good at working with insects like spiders and bees. They know what plants deter and bring in insects to help their gardens and areas.
Kitchen Witchcraft: Very good at making homemade, filling meals and insisting you bring some home with you. They are knowledgeable in spices and the different ways to make baked goods to align with your desires. A hungry witch is a clumsy witch, after all.
Self-Care Witchcraft: sweet smelling lotions, hair oils, rose petals and a journal. That is all you need to be a self care witch. Someone who values their own health and mental status, who knows their limits and what to do to make themselves happy.
Cosmic Witchcraft: A witch that knows what fruits and vegetables are in season by the moon and the sun. They know just when things are ready to be eaten.
Wait, wait, Carter! Those categories are all over the place!
Yeah, and it’s not even a completed list! What I’m trying to tell you is that Cottage magic and witchcraft is so unique and large, that almost every path can connect to cottage magic. Why is that? Probably because your house is where you do most of your magic, and it’s the place where you probably feel the most comfortable. Hence, why this is a very nice and easy craft to get into, with no rules and even less requirements!
How to keep your beliefs in your wedding when you have super Christian guests.
158 days until the wedding:
White or pink candles symbolize love and protection! Try to add these candles to your wedding in some way. Black also is good for protection if you are having a darker themed wedding. My colors are Blue (calm), Purple (loyalty), and Green (wealth).
You dont have to wear a veil, if you are the bride. However, it is to protect you from negativity during the ceremony. Parents in law that don’t like you? Their bad vibes wont get through that veil.
Try handfasting, as a physical sign of being tied to one another! Many people do this tradition, so it is not inherently pagan and could be glanced over.
Light candles together. No one will know if the candle is for Hera, Freyja, Frigg, Aphrodite, Juno, Venus, etc. They will just see you do something together, to jump start the next chapter in your life.
Burn a bayleaf with your intention on it to attract longevity, wealth, and happiness.
Bless the area before the guest sit down
Bring the elements into your wedding. Air can be windchimes or balloons, fire can be with the candles or a bonfire, water can be with shells or fountains, and earth can just be not wearing shoes or live plants as center pieces
Do your own tarot reading before the wedding, to see the outcome of the day or the relationship.
