Duuuuuude its so cool how you made ur car go 2 mph faster and sound like it was taking a shit... I bet it was pretty expensive, to make your car sound like it was poopshitting and farting whenever you accelerate slightly. Thats so cool.

This coming out just days after it was revealed in the Jeffrey Epstein email dump that powerful people manipulated American and British news, political figures and forums to push transphobia to distract from people looking at their child abuse ring.
This includes chief anti-Corbyn-ite in Labour Peter Mandelson, directly feeding anti-trans stories to UK and US newspapers, actively bullshiting "biological studies" that trans people are idk ontologically evil (we have proof of Epstein pitching this exact thing), and creating /pol/ and then feeding anti-trans conspiracy theories for years until it all boiled over.
And over and over we found out each plank of this argument was rotten from the start but people are choosing to keep the bigotry.
When you hear about the Epstein files and you can't understand how people can be so monstrous, keep in mind that every monstrosity that happened on Epstein's island was legal just two lifetimes ago.
A monster kidnaps a barely pubescent girl, rapes and impregnates her, then traffics the baby. That seems like a horror story when you hear about it happening on Epstein's island. But it used to be legal. They used to do this openly. It was not only legal to do this, but also illegal to try to rescue the victims. The police enforced that. The police were originally created for the main purpose of enforcing that.
Rich people acting entitled to do whatever they want? Large numbers of people engaged in human trafficking? Police making the most monstrous people look like saints compared to them? That's nothing new. That's our country's history.
Why is the yt channel called particle men?
JF: we were a little late to the YouTube scene, and no one on our team understood it very well initially. (It was actually before the nomenclature of "word-official" or other signifiers of officialness were well established, and many of the basic behaviors of the site had yet to evolve, especially around copyrighted material--which has vacillated wildly since) A civilian had very methodically posted most of our videos under the name ParticleMen, and gained quite a few views.
At the same moment we were considering how to post things to the channel, the first wave of robot take-downs from music publishers started happening. It was a bit of a chicken and egg moment, where it seemed like their site would probably be pulled down as unsanctioned by our publishing company and some notion that it would be sad for the band to lose the high viewership numbers the ParticleMen channel had already established. (In retrospect this was probably an fundamental misunderstand of EVERYTHING that was happening on YouTube--we could have started a TheyMightBeGiants channel independantly and gained views organically soon enough and had a channel that was clearly legit.)
Anyway--someone on our management asked the original user if we could take over the site. Personally, I was always confused by the name and actually didn't get it, and didn't particularly prefer it. But somebody thought we were stuck with it.
