hello, sorry if this is strange but im kind of new to the tumblr space for tmnt and just found the drama stuff. i wanted to know if you would be ok with a few questions? idk i come from x so theres so much worse drama there lol but this situation is something else. i feel like it’s.. kind of. ok not to say it negatively but its a bit witchhunty? more like.. needing to pull out evidence to defend yourself against accusations that everyone takes as truth seems harsh. i feel like those mods were respecting someone’s privacy and! idk reading the original document, i just feel like its sorta obvious that she’s one of abyssal’s victims right?
Hello, I’m really sorry that you’re just joining tumblr and already having to see “drama”. Usually, things here are fun and pretty chill, but when situations like this happen, I’ve noticed that the fandom tends to speak up, which is a good thing because homophobia/transphobia, and especially grooming should never be ignored.
The thing is, the allegations are serious enough (and with enough proof) that they shouldn’t simply be ignored. Why would someone be interacting with minors through a fandom event where the majority of participants are minors if they are facing allegations like these? Why would they continue participating in that event despite those allegations?
What I’m criticizing is the decision to allow her to participate. And if she is allowed to participate, then the reasons behind that decision should be clearly explained to the fandom so people can better understand why that choice was made (I wasn’t the first person to talk to them about the matter). I clearly have more reasons to believe that the private evidence they mention either doesn’t exist or that what happened is being minimized (It’s easy to minimize something when you haven’t been a victim of something similar). I spoke with one of the victims, and they made it very clear to me that what affected them the most regarding Chila was her behavior and the fact that she showed no kind of remorse.
I genuinely think you should go back and check the document, because I don’t understand why you say she would also be a victim, considering everything she did and the evidence supporting it. Here a screenshot from the document summarizing about Chila:
And the reason I’m talking about Chila and not the others is because she’s the only one who is still very active in the fandom, but here is the summary they made of the evidence regarding all of the accused:
I understand that that private evidence could support the WM mods side of things, but they said the art theft claims were false when we have firsthand evidence that it happened… I mean, if they lied about that and are hiding things “for privacy reasons”, I personally find that very suspicious. And the allegations are serious enough that they shouldn’t be making that decision the way they did.
I hope I was able to clear up your doubts a little. I know it’s a sensitive topic and I don’t like to point fingers at people, but I genuinely don’t think it’s okay that she is participating and interacting with minors through the WM. I believe that adults have a responsibility to try to keep these spaces as safe as possible for everyone.
I’m not a judge, nor I’m trying to be one. I just saw that something was happening and I couldn’t stay silent. And like I said, I’m not the only person behind that post.
And I want to repeat, just in case, that I do not agree with hate toward absolutely anyone. The goal is simply for the fandom to be aware and informed.
