The Life That’s Happening in Your Head
Some people lead quieter lives. They live mostly in their own heads. But when I hear them talk about their passions, when I get a glimpse of the vastness of their imaginations and the profoundness of their souls, I always find myself lost for words. I would wonder why they aren't pursuing a 'larger' life, why they would keep rotating by the edge of the circle while mediocrity finds its way to the center. But over the past few years, I've developed a sense of appreciation to this way of life.
There is an endearing kind of beauty to a life happening in someone's mind. We all admire dreams realized and goals achieved. But a dream confined to a person's imagination resembles a story in a book. It may not be real, but never less worthy of telling. Sometimes a fine line is what separates between reality and fiction, considering the frailty of memory and the inconsistency of perspective. And so an imagined life is an inseparable part of the human experience. It's fascinating to think that there is more talent in the world, more originality and ingenuity than we realize.
