Jonathan Joss was an Indigenous, gay man who was murdered on the first day of Pride month as well as Indigenous History Month. He died protecting his trans husband. Homophobia and racism aren’t marks of the past, and this is a heart breaking reminder of that.
Praying for a safe journey back to the spirit world, Uncle ❤️🩹🦅
Today is the anniversary of the death of Jonathan Joss (King of the Hill, Parks and Rec). Jonathan Joss was an Indigenous, gay man who died protecting his transgender husband, on the first day of Pride month. Today we remember him and how he protected his family.
do you ever look at a friend and feel soooooo affectionate
i’m glad this is the post of mine to get a degree of notes, fuck yeah friends
"You's want my two cents? You's want my two cents!? A'ight pal, I's got my 2 cents for ya... I got 'em right 'ere!"
*shoots you with my tommy gun that downpitches you by 2/100ths of a semi-tone*
"Guess we's got's ta tell da don you won't be singin' wit da choir no more, ya slightly-atonal asshole."
"Music theory? Yeah I's got a music theory for you's; nobody but nobody fucks wit Microtonality Tony and gets away with it, got it?"
I heards the only way out is through... which is why i fucked with Microtonality Tony 49 more times in order to return myself to a regular, if not deeper, pitch. Its a great alternative to voice training! What an ally.
Ayyyy what can I sez, huh? Gotta make sure we're helpin' out one anudda, ams I right or ams I right? Someone wants a key change, they should get that key change. If a pair a folks wants ta sing duets with similar cargo contents, then they should be free ta make some sweet music togetha, know what I'm sayin'? And if anybody tries ta tell yous otherwise: Ol' Tony and da boys'll make sure to take 'em to da bridge, capiche? We'll have dem hittin' da low notes with their pal Davy if you catch my drift. Singin' in da shower with da drain clogged. Writin' stanzas wit stingrays, y'know?
Ey an' uh, happy pride mont all yous, yeah? Stay safe out there.
You 🫵 person in Europe who’s finding it unseasonably hot and you suddenly don’t know what to wear on, like, a hot train.
You’re going to go on Vinted or eBay and put in “made in Italy”, “moda Italia” or (translation of same.) add the search term “silk top.”
What you want are tops that consist of these really thin jersey vest tops with a floaty pure silk layer over them. You’re looking to spend £8-20. You might need to specify “floaty” or “lagenlook.”
There will usually be a healthy secondhand collection of these online. Try to get a pure silk overlayer if you can - some of them are silk blended with viscose.
You’ll probably find the designs kinda mid or old-lady-ish. Don’t worry too much about this. They’ll actually look pretty cool on, and everyone will be jealous of your freedom from suffering.
These tops will keep you much cooler than skimpier ones.
Have the reviews had time to come in? Do you get it now?
hey, that dogs whole job is to point at birds, and it is indeed pointing at a bird
What more do you want?
That German shorthair pointer is sure pointing.
literally though if you feel like your life is slipping through your fingers and every day goes too fast… try doing hard things, not just taking the easy route, like reading and making art and exercising and cooking a meal from scratch and journaling, doing these things without distraction, without being absorbed on a screen… the time will stretch and you’ll be reminded that life is long and beautiful if you make it so.
Reblogging this with these tags because oh my goodness
To the person I reblogged this from THANK YOU i am now going to stick this on my pinboard where I’m gonna see it every single day
“Life is long and beautiful if you make it so”
A thing no one talks about re: ADHD is that you can't... gain experience, the way other people do.
I don't mean you can't get good at things through repeated practice. You can do that, I have done that, but I don't trust it.
I was driving this morning and thinking about how I have never developed the blasé contempt for it most people seem to despite never having caused an accident in 20 years because my sense of time is such that I might as well have been driving for a week. I'm a good, safe driver, but I do not have a heap of confidence in my driving despite having regularly done it for two decades because my sense of time is such that those two decades may as well not have happened.
I finished editing a novel today. When I publish it, it will be the 64th novel I have published in the last 10 years, not counting ghostwritten work. You'd think after a decade and 63 novels I'd be confident that I was capable of writing, editing, and publishing a novel—even be confident about the timeline for this—but no. No, I feel like I'm doing it for the first time, every time, and I was surprised to have finished the editing at all, let alone on time. Because those other 63 novels were published in a past I have a vague at best concept of. I have a record that says it happened but I do not feel it.
I cannot trust my future behaviour because for me there is functionally no past. I know it occurred, I have records, but I don't feel it the way people without this kind of memory issue do. I feel inexperienced at everything I've ever done and I cannot accurately estimate my skill level at anything, particularly not on the fly.
I don't have a solution to this I just find it an incredibly frustrating phenomenon.
Hey here's the food that I've figured out his the right combo of cheap, easy to make, tolerably tasty, and relatively nutritionally sound for when my brain is bad:
2c rice (2c is dry, prepare as you usually do. Whatever kind of rice you have is good, brown rice works well)
2 cans of pinto or black beans, drained (or one can of each. Whatever.)
12oz frozen broccoli
1c chunky salsa
Optional: .5c sour cream, .5c shredded cheese.
Also optional: salt, garlic powder, and cumin to taste (to season the rice)
Cook the rice in one pot (with the seasoning if you want to). Put the frozen broccoli, drained beans, and salsa in another pot and bring to a boil. When the rice is done and the bean broccoli salsa stuff is hot, mix the rice into the beans (if adding cheese or sour cream, stir into the beans before adding the rice).
Now you have a food. It's got protein and carbs and fiber and a vegetable (and fat if you add the cheese and sour cream).
The amount described above is a lot. You can portion half of it into single servings to freeze and still have like four meals.
It's not the kind of thing I'd serve to anyone else, but it's a better option than eating instant oatmeal for dinner for another week.
Can someone please help me find the flesh cloud post

words of wisdom from wikipedia this evening
much to consider
if you are a parent, or may become one, or you are otherwise likely to arrive in the situation of caring for a child while they eat, promise me this: if a child doesn't like a certain food or food group, you will ask them WHY. and specifically, you will pay attention to either confirming or ruling out "it makes my mouth itch" or "it makes my stomach hurt," both of which are medically important info that children may not provide unprompted. which i know because this PSA has been brought to you by "i spent my entire childhood and much of my early teens eating peas and lentils while wondering why everyone else liked the Violently Itchy Mouth Sensation so much, like were they a bunch of legume masochists or something, before i finally realized that Violently Itchy Mouth Sensation was in fact a sinister demon appearing only to me, and her true demonic name was: Legume Allergy"
Do not let your child suffer from spicy bananas!
Since it's been a while since I sang the praises of my favorite book 'Anarchy Works' by Peter Gelderloos: here's a reminder that there is an easy to read anarchism book out there organized around frequently asked questions and it's online for free with the authors consent.
