Ok y'all listen. I KNOW this is not impressive. I KNOW this is two fucking plants in a bowl. BUT I am proud of myself for finally breaking down tycho and spot's old tanks. I am proud of myself for going to Michael's and buying this bowl and going to petco and buying these two plants (already had the marimos) and for fucking making something and moving forward. So look at this bowl ok

Quick question. How can you sanitize those floating betta logs? I assume you can’t boil them since they’re plastic, is bleaching ok or will the bleach react with the paint?

To my knowledge, setting aside a bowl/bucket of bleach will be fine for up to a day, but it is dependant on how much you put in. I’d say enough for it to be somewhat pungent, until you start to smell the bleach.

And you can boil it, but you need to make sure that the bottom of the log does not come into contact with the pan, and flip it a lot. 15 mins max, but be careful, I have done it with plants and it was ok, but never tried a log.

3rd option; some fish stores sell plastic decor cleaner; couple of drops of that stuff in a bowl of hot water, sponge and clean the decor, rinse ALOT (don’t want that stuff in your tank) and you’re good to go.

Be mindful to take off the sucker cups if there are any, boiling melts them really easily.

Wanted to try something entirely new to me. I’ve never done a mixed medium piece before; this is definitely not as refined as I’d have liked it to be. I am not sure if I like or dislike how the resin made the translucent fins sort of blend into the canvas.  Was definitely fun trying something completely out of my comfort zone. This is a 5x7 canvas.
