Most important meal of the day... Post workout meal. Killed hamstrings and glutes today, the refuel meal was well earned. Opted for wedges for work instead of heels or I'll look like a baby calf learning how to walk. Don't ever skip meals to reach your goals. EAT!!!!! It took me some time to realize this...

I lift heavy three times a week on my own at the gym. I also crossfit three times a week at a box. My friend went into a panic after reading the "CrossFit can kill you" article that's been making the rounds lately and thought I was a couple of sessions away from a hospital bed. I couldn't help but feel loved while assuring her I don't train within the threshold for the kind of muscle damage that causes Rhabdo.
Yes Rhabdo is real, and very scary but it is also extremely rare. As a person everyone needs to know their limits. Your workout should be tough, uncomfortable, and push your limits. It should however never be painful, you need to listen to your body and know when to pull back. You also need to rest. Muscles need time to rebuild, I never train the same muscle group 2 days in a row in the same way and I never train for longer than 90 minutes.
This video explains it way better than I ever could but honestly use common sense, know your limits, use proper form, listen to your body and REST!

This is me, the scale is not the whole story. I was feeling really down about my progress and decided to take a new set of "before" pictures only to realize that they are during pictures. We see our selves everyday so sometimes you miss the transformation. These pictures made my day and gave me the motivation to keep going. I may not be anywhere near where I want to be but I'm getting closer and I'm trying my hardest. Measurements and body fat that's what I will focus on, not the scale.

Consistency
I can always start, I can always plan everything and get a hell of a jump and then I start getting comfortable and doing things half ass. I may not do this with my workouts but I definitely do it with my diet. With diet i do not mean something I read in a book that said lose ten pounds in one week on the cover. That's hogwash and I know it, first hand.
I follow IIFYM (If it fits your macros) and I don't ban any foods from my diet. It helps me stay sane this way. No I do not eat pop tarts and ice cream everyday, or even every week, but it's nice to know that I am still ALLOWED to have them in moderation, and when my body still has the macros to process them correctly. Lately my problem has been keeping up with the weighing which means portions and macros have not been accurate.
I altered my macros today and will be sticking to these for the next 30 days. I also finally think I got my workout schedule completely figured out to inclulde my lifting through the Body Built program as well as Crossfit in the evenings without overdoing it.
My goal is to drop another 6 lbs and then measure my body fat percentage, from that point on I will no longer use the scale to monitor my progress but strength and body fat percentage. My attentiveness will also really focus on this blog and catalog my recipes as well. This avenue could really use some TLC.
Sometimes I need a little reminder, don't stress the future. If pure happy right this moment stop and ENJOY it instead of tainting it with worry. ✌️😍❤️😁😊
