They made Daniel so dumb, and the level of his rage against Lestat makes no sense, nor does the fact that he goes along with an evil plan to fuck over Louis in a big way. Is he really that in love with Armand that just does everything he asks for? How, why, when did that happen? Does he have a personality at all? There wasn't a good enough reason established for him to do most of the things he did.

Daniel made jokes about sex work has made racially insensitive comments and now has made an autism joke. How is Armand of all people supposed to feel cradled by this.

If anything I’m unhappy about Daniel. I don’t know currently if I want Armand with him. Is that the love that’s going to cradle him? Is he already doing that? Thank god for Eric pushing for more for him to do because that itself didn’t feel like anything. What the hell was his arc before?

And it’s valid that he hates Lestat, but is that really all it is? Is this guy going to be kind to Armand? I’m not suggesting he isn’t, I am genuinely asking because I haven’t seen proof of it. Is this where Armand will finally feel safe? With him?

I AM NOT SAYING YOU CAN'T BE HAPPY WITH THE DM CRUMBS WE'RE GETTING THIS SEASON

if you enjoy armand calling Daniel his companion and Armand being called Daniel's wife, GREAT! ngl those make me smile too!

but you CANNOT possibly tell me that this DANIEL is going to sympathize and kind with Armand, let alone loves him back.

I'm also not mad that they had Daniel saying all those slurs this season. he's capable of that, full stop. the guy's an asshole.

what I'm mad about is what it's IN SERVICE of. after this season it's painfully clear the writers room doesn't care about anyone but LESTAT. sometimes Louis. everyone and everything else exists to serve Lestat's story. which means we are never getting a Daniel who's more than what TVL gave us: a weak vampire in an old man's body who hates Lestat's guts, a little jealous of him underneath it, and slinging slurs at everyone from Black men to people with autism.

Why would I want to see THIS guy with Armand? especially after the Arun reveal in the finale??

I love Daniel. I love Eric. but I want more for Armand, because I genuinely think he's been treated the worst out of every character on this show. he is THEE Vampire Armand and they reduced him to a third wheel in Loustat's story.

I'd love to be proven wrong. I just have zero reason to expect it at this point.

it literally shouldve been lestat being tortured ohhhhhh my god. armand who broke lestat in paris when he came to him for help in TVL -- "you, who destroyed all of us, you who took everything. whatever made you think that i would help you!" "you did not want me! a century i had waited, and you did not want me!" they were really wiping their asses with those book pages clapping each other on the back coming up with new ways they can torture and mutilate their black characters and make louis grovel and apologise to another one of his abusers
