Get rid of your fucking Ring cameras holy shit. That was one of the most chilling ads I’ve ever seen
😰😰😰😰😰
For anyone confused about why this "sweet ad" is actually evil:
ring is passing the surveillance they collect to ice
ring is using these ID features to search for/identify people that ice wants to deport/kidnap/disappear, & using it to spy on Americans in general.
This ad is the company's gross & sneaky attempt to appeal to humans' kindness [ I'll be helping people find their pets!" ]
They are trying to trick more people into buying this tool that will be used as surveillance on people living in the USA
AND~!!!
also probably trying to trick people into turning on features/settings that will make it easier for them to pass information to ice and other hostile governmental authorities

I called this ad propaganda the second I saw it and my dad got annoyed with me. Excuse me for not wanting to live in a fucking surveillance state. It’s too late. My parents already have a camera. But at least the street isn’t visible because we have fence around the front yard. People walking by are safe. They would have to come all the way up the driveway to be seen. But still.
The public is being shown just enough to know the truth, and to understand that nothing is going to happen.
Do Y’all remember the Pentagon Papers? When Daniel Ellsberg leaked them in 1971, the government panicked precisely because they all came out at once. The documents landed as a single, overwhelming moral event. They collapsed official narratives about Vietnam in one blow and ignited public outrage that couldn’t be staggered or softened. The lesson power learned from that moment was not “don’t lie,” but “never let the truth arrive whole again.” Since then, exposure has been redesigned to arrive in pieces that are manageable, deniable, and endlessly debatable. Do Y’all remember MKUltra? When details of the CIA’s human experimentation program began leaking in the 1970s, they didn’t surface as a single reckoning. They emerged through hearings, partial disclosures, missing files, and official shrugs. By the time the public understood the scale, which involved drugging civilians, experimenting on prisoners, and destroying records, the moment for accountability had already passed. The psychological effect was profound because people learned that even when the state admits to grotesque abuse, nothing necessarily follows. Remember Edward Snowden and the NSA surveillance revelations? This is one of the clearest modern parallels to the Epstein files debacle. At first, the disclosures were shocking. We saw mass data collection, warrantless surveillance, and the scope of the security state laid bare. But instead of a single, sustained confrontation, the information also arrived in waves. Each revelation triggered a brief spike of concern then followed by normalization. Over time, the public absorbed the idea that privacy was already gone and resistance was futile. Surveillance didn’t end. Folks simply adapted their expectations downward. The system didn’t change, but the public psyche did. You can also look at how the Catholic Church handled its abuse revelations. For decades, cases surfaced one diocese at a time, one report at a time, and one country at a time. The incremental exposure delayed full institutional reckoning and allowed the Church to posture as “addressing the issue” while continuing to protect itself. By the time the pattern was undeniable, many people were already exhausted, cynical, or resigned. Again, horror became procedural. What all these cases share is the same psychological outcome. When wrongdoing is revealed slowly, the public never experiences a unified moral demand moment. Instead, people are trained to live alongside the knowledge. To scroll past it. To argue about details. To accept that “this is just how it is” and nothing happens to powerful rich men.

Can't wait for the uniqueness of the holocaust to be a topic of importance in a political campaign in america in 2024. That's how it should be. That's normal
It's true, the Holocaust isn't unique, it holds the largest impact because it is the most recent one, at least for jews, given time other genocides will overshadow it, and it should be taught in the same vein as other historic atrocities.
There was the Effacer le tableau.
The Hutu massacres of the first Congo war.
The Rwandan Genocide.
The Bosnian Genocide.
The Isaaq Genocide.
The Anfal campaign.
The Gukurahundi.
The Cambodian Genocide.
The East Timor Genocide.
The Ikiza.
The Bangladesh Genocide, which may have a repeat very soon.
The Holodomor.
The Great Leap Forward.
The Armenian Genocide.
I can go on.
To limit education to but one atrocity, when all of these happened in the same century is an attempt to reframe or even hide these atrocities, for instance I have seen many socialists defend both the Holodomor and the Armenian Genocide, it does those being educated a disservice by treating the Holocaust as unique while surrounded by a myriad of other heinous genocides.
I will say context is important, and I don't know the context here, but yeah he's right to acknowledge the many other genocides that exist.
I mean the context in the screenshot provided is obviously correct and vindicates what Walz is saying. Someone screenshotted that as proof Walz was wrong because they could not read the words in it, just that it somehow disagrees with them.
He fucking says, right there, "to exclude other acts of genocide severely limited students' ability to synthesize the lessons of the Holocaust and ability to apply them elsewhere," that's the quote that this thread's OP and Twitter OP both looked at and got enraged by without reading! Guess what? If you teach people the Holocaust was completely unique and unprecedented and unrelated to any other patterns of behavior, the take-home lesson is that it might as well have been done by space aliens and there's no reason to be concerned with what humans are doing!
and by divorcing the Holocaust from all other genocides, it also allows people to not have a framework of other mass atrocities, which surprisingly enough seems to make them believe that the holocaust could have actually NOT happened, considering how they don't have a framework about how often atrocities happen.
the follow-up here is that when walz taught his class of sophomore high school students about the holocaust, he had them extensively study other genocides and the social conditions that preceded them. the class wrapped up with a group project trying to predict where the next genocide was most likely to take place
(this was in 1993)
and where did they collectively conclude the next genocide was most likely to happen?
Rwanda.
if, like me, you can't remember the date of the Rwandan genocide off the top of your head, it kicked off in April 1994.
So ... when Tim Walz says that studying the Holocaust as part of a pattern is vitally important, he is not talking out of his ass.
I think it's important to mention that while the scope and industrialization of the Holocaust was unique, to act like nothing like that has had the same impact to the victimized community or that it could never happen again only serves people who want to do genocide with less scrutiny.
Nation-states actively committing genocides will kill and starve tens of thousands of people, kill aid workers and journalists trying to help, and then turn around and say "well, it's not really genocide because we didn't round them up into camps and exterminate them like the Holocaust." Comparison to the Holocaust has been a favorite tactic for burying press about genocides every since.
Ok the US Attorney General says that she will remove ICE if MN drops all our sanctuary laws, complies with ICE, hands over all our SNAP, Medicaid and voter rolls. They demand control over our voter registration so they can "ensure free and fair elections".
They want to control our elections.
I am dead serious people call your representatives. Get volunteering. Get protesting. Get LOUD.
They released a letter full of straight up lies. Spread the truth. MAKE NOISE.

Formaldehyde, brick dust, lead, and borax once made grocery shopping a minefield.
Shit used to be wild, and this is just what I could find that had decent sources, I've heard a lot more horror stories.
I'm not excited to live in a word without regulation. 🙃
"Regulations don't exist because governments enjoy them" is an important statement here. The government has to spend money and labor to enforce regulations. The government has to be begged for years and sometimes threatened by the American people into even creating the regulations. The people with the money want you to believe regulations are "BIG GOVERNMENT INFRINGING ON OUR FREEDOMS" so you'll help them undo the regulations your grandparents had to force that same government to install in the first fucking place. They count on you being ignorant of the past so they can make another round of dirty money by poisoning you all over again.
Whenever I hear "cutting red tape" I think of food inspections and water runoff rules. Whenever I hear someone complain that it's not fair, how they can't compete as a business with all these "unnecessary" regulations, I think of the safety guards on various industrial machines I've worked. "It's not fair that I could be making so much more money if I was allowed to lie cheat steal and harm the public" is not actually a winning take, and yet

Frustrated Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers fled a Minnesota neighborhood after residents alerted each other by triggering car a
Basically, people are using their key fobs to set off their car alarms when they see ICE.
This is effective for several reasons:
Obviously, it alerts everyone that something is wrong. Given ICE has been terrorizing Minnesota, people are likely to immediately know it is ICE. This gives people time to flee or barricade themselves in their homes.
ICE loses the element of surprise.
If one person hears a car alarm go off, they can trigger their own alarm, alerting even more people, but also making it really annoying for ICE. Annoying sounds petty, but it can be effective. Have you ever been in a building when a super loud fire alarm went off? It's very hard to concentrate. You can't hear much else. You just want to leave. ICE experiences this when a whole street if car alarms go off. Which means they make mistakes.
This was how we were alerted to ICE attempting to gain access to our apartment building. This 100% works.
Fun facts about immigration in the US you might want to share with friends and relatives for no particular reason
The United States actually had open borders until 1924. There was no cap on immigration, and people were only denied access based on race and disability. (x)
The Immigration Act of 1924 had an overall negative impact on the economy (x) (x) and foreign relations with Asia, but Hitler praised it (x), because it was just blatant eugenics (x).
ICE didn't exist until 2003 (x)
Being undocumented is not actually classified as a crime (x). If it was, cases would be handled by the judicial branch, and defendants would receive the benefits of due process. But because it isn't, it is handled by the executive branch, and defendants do not get due process. That means no lawyers, no jury, and no real judge.
Immigration "judges," who are not required to have nearly as much experience or education in law as real judges (x), face no consequences for wrongful deportation, they are only really evaluated based on how many people they process.
While it's difficult to pin down an exact number, there have been an estimated 4,000 wrongful detention/deportations by 2010 alone (x - this one suggests a possible 20,000) (x - this one confirms over a thousand), with several reported on in mainstream media (Mark Lyttle, Pedro Guzman, Roberto Dominquez, Andres Gonzalez, Esteban Tiznado-Reyna).
In April 2025, there were several more confirmed wrongful deportations, including a 2-year-old citizen deported to Honduras (x) (x), a 10-year-old with brain cancer on her way to a medical appointment (x), and a 7-year-old and her 4-year-old brother with stage 4 cancer (x).
There were more deaths in ICE concentration camps in 2025 than almost any year prior, tying for first place with 2003 (x). If nothing is done about it, that number will increase in 2026.

ICE has executed a man in Minneapolis today. The video is horrifying. There were five ICE ‘officers’ against one man who was on the ground and they shot him repeatedly. This was caught on video and I watched it.
They will try and spin this. They will say he was armed (which is his legal right). They will try and say he was a paid agitator or part of some horrible left wing terrorist organization.
DONT LISTEN.
This was an execution clear and simple. Whether or not he was armed has nothing to do with it, he was subdued on the ground when he was shot.
I truly don’t know what the country/world is hearing from Minnesota right now but I’m fairly certain it’s not the whole story. We are angry, we are afraid, we are helping our community in unprecedented numbers, we have been peaceful, we know our rights and have followed the law.
Fifty THOUSAND people were in the streets yesterday with almost no police presence and the whole thing was peaceful and lawful and filled with hope and love.
The thugs hate that and they are scared so they decided to execute a man in retaliation.
