Let me put something into the Space of Discourse, here, for people's passing consideration.
I don't think anyone's ignoring the above design because it's beautifully simple and readable. I find myself wondering, though, if it's slipped under the radar because it's too easily scrapeable.*
Speaking as someone who ran a recipe site (EuropeanCuisines.com, now in the process of being shut down because it's really no longer needed) from almost the beginning of the web until now: Once upon a time, recipes were purposely made easy for people to read online. (The now-ancient Meal-Master format was perfect for this.)
Between 1995 and 2000, every single one of the hundreds of recipes @petermorwood and I posted to the EC.com site was scraped. All of them were cheerfully stripped of any possible attribution and posted to big for-profit food websites, who then started making money off what we intended people to access for free. (Way too often I run across my iimmediately-(to-me)-identifiable prose style in a recipe from one of the big sites' guts, and heave a sigh... as the statute of limitations for invoking Olney's Law on such sites has almost certainly run out.)
Many other online recipe-posters have to have shared this experience. As a result, many recipe posters quickly started developing technologies to make it harder for opportunistic firms to scrape their recipes.
Currently chief among these techniques is "recipe cards", in the implementation of which the cards' software developers have devised many fascinating techniques that make scraping harder... but also make it way more difficult for people without the necessary fancy hardware to just, you know, read the damn recipes. (I say nothing here of how annoying putting data into the damn cards is.) And the recipe cards, too, now do get scraped regardless. Ask any food-running website person who's in a position to watch the constant updating of recipe-card apps to make it tougher for this to happen when the scrapers descend with some new tool this week.
The above-featured design is fabulous. It'd be wonderful if it caught on and spread.
And the minute it does: the scrapers will be among you with a way to take those recipes and sell them to people, instead of making them freely accessible.
To many folks, this won't be an issue. To those of us who go to (or have gone to) some trouble to make the recipes available without you having to pay for them: all we can do is sigh, and continue to share good recipes, in Entropy's despite.
*Though I do have to note here that it looks to me very like a style of recipe layout that's very common in German cookbooks, and thereby has missed being noted by English-speaking recipe sharers. German cookbook readers, do let me know if you've also noted this.
