hey. good luck with everything, okay? [cutting the rope connecting your boat to the dock] just good luck. [starts pushing your boat further towards the stream] just have a good luck out there
[not noticing I'm drifting out to sea] Meow meow meow meow! Meow meow meow~
good luck! good luck!
Idk who needs to hear this, but you're allowed to stop doing things. It's okay if something you're passionate about stops feeling fun. You didn't fail if you dropped a healthy habit when your routine changed. It's totally normal, and you can always pick it back up if it becomes a good fit for you later. There's so much great stuff in the world, and you can't do everything at once. There will always be new things to fit into your life.
tbh a lot of my advice boils down to “hey you know that terrible horrible looming thing you’re doing your best to avoid and distract and escape as much as possible but no matter what you do it just keeps looming and looming and ruining your life”
“just, fuckign, run straight at it screaming.”
i needed this as a background
I did this today and it basically went okay but I still feel like shit and want to die, so. 🤷
youtube with ublock origin experience of the 20 second gap between every video on a playlist where youtube desperately throws itself against the impervious ever-evolving uncaring face of the adblocker's wall screaming and clawing and calling PLEASE! PLEASE, OUR AD REVENUE!! DON'T YOU WANT TO SUPPORT THIS CREATOR? DO YOU NOT CARE ABOUT OUR WALLETS? AND THEIRS? into the vast and empty sky before the adblocker gently raises one of its many iron-banded arms and flicks youtube away into the void just to hear its wails fade slowly into nothing
It's funny when I get the "You seem to be experiencing interruptions. Find out why" popup as if two unskippable 30-second ads wouldn't feel way more intrusive and annoying than a slight delay for a video to start.

I love tumblr more than IG bc IG feels like I’m posting looking for a job but on here it’s like I already lost the job and my wife and the house and I’m just sitting on the curb talking to myself
It's been a while since I said "this person wins the internet", but today it is merited.

WTF this is masterful, 10/10.
Other people have said this in notes, but the Bulwer-Lytton contest involves writing the most absurd opener you can think of and submitting it to the contest. It's not a judgment like the Razzies or the bad sex in books award or something; it's a game. Diana Murtaugh of Baltimore is to be congratulated for this win.
The people around you worth your time do not expect perfection from you. They want to see you in all of your strengths and weaknesses. They want to see you grow.

legit the best advice i can give you: feed your friends
any time someone is in any kind of crisis or upheaval, offer to feed them. tell them they don't have to choose what it is if they can't make decisions, just ask about allergies and preferences and tell them you're just gonna make food happen at their house.
friend having a baby? delivery gift certificate to order food to the hospital after the kid shows up.
someone's relative passes away? offer to make them dinner.
buddy gets laid off? ask if you can order them lunch.
pal stuck in a depressive episode? offer to drive them to fucking mcdonalds, if that's what they want.
people in crisis are tired and sad and angry and the last thing most of them are doing is thinking about feeding themselves. so if you have the ability or time or money, providing that is always, always a good move.
legit i do this all the time, and it is 100% always appreciated. i have taught all my friends that when something happens, we feed each other. it makes people feel extremely cared for, and I cannot recommend it enough.
Right after I reblogged this I found out a friends’ mom was hospitalized — this is such a good reminder
If you can, provide disposable plates/utensils and save them from doing dishes — when my husband was diagnosed with cancer, bulk paper products were our most appreciated gift
I haven't made a creature in a while.
Day 1, needle felting. Still a long way to go on the silhouette.
Day 2. Need to build up the torso more and then fatten him up.
He is a little smaller than the dog I am basing him off of, but he'll still be within breed standards. :)
Day 3. Wrangling him into a pose before I continue refining the body. Perhaps a head tomorrow?
Day 4. Lots of looking at references (bless folks who shave down these dogs so I can understand what's underneath all that fur). Still much to refine.
Decided the tail should be a bit longer. Failed and then succeeded at making eyes. Got a blank started for the head. Might make a clay nose before bed.
Hit a milestone of 1lb of core wool used so far. Probably need 2-3 more days until I can start rooting the fur.
Day 5. Might pose him in a play bow with some of his rubber rings from the books, since he is shaping up to be more book-influenced and 1940's breed standard.
Still much to refine on the body, and I barely started on the face.
Day 6. Still needs a lot of filling out everywhere, but he is starting to look like a dog.
