Happy Night(mare) Before Christmas! :D It’s great to have shoots that double for both Halloween and Christmas lol, but I have a lot of great memories of this shoot, from the friends, set up and shenanigans on set, I’d say this was my favourite shoot of 2016.

Made K.K in time for Smash last weekend! And was lucky enough to be able to drag @Blackcrane56-cosplay into doing Steven with me hahaha it was so much fun! And we found a child to take care of!! XD there was a shiro and kuro but we didn’t get a photo with them TAT

Bedelia and Will need to interact more in the next season~! Woo!!! Blackcrane and I were jokingly talking of doing this while the show aired. AND THEN IT HAPPENED. XD Eventhough we are superduper asian, thank you for cosplaying this with me! It was so much fun helping you with the set (YES. THAT IS A HANDMADE PRISON SET) and shooting this! :D <3

Can finally show everyone the photos from our NBC Hannibal shoot!! *A* (thank you to Christie to putting the photoset together)~ I am so happy we managed to recreate this one scene between these two characters, so subtle but so important. Hopefully they get more scenes in the upcoming season <33 I might make another post later on detailing how we made the jail set (incase anyone wants to be just as crazy as us 8′D). But for now I need to go and drown myself in more sewing for Supanova ;A;

Hi anon~ (can't tell when this ask was sent, so I'm sorry if I'm replying to this super late;;) Thank you! The arm plates was attached with strips of velcro on the sleeve, and the pauldrons had velcro + snaps. Tho the snaps came off quite frequently, I'm upgrading to hooks next time :Y

Les Misérables Photography | Shinomatrix Enjorlas | Blackcrane It's almost been a full year since I cosplayed Enjorlas, and I'm only editing the pics now orz. I've been a major musical theatre fanatic ever since the Les Mis movie roped me back into it again. And with Enjorlas being my favourite character, I had to try cosplaying him even though I'm a potato compared to Aaron Tveit 8'D hopefully I can do him more justice next time.. (in before people tell me that wooden pallets didn't exist back then shhhhhhh)

Hiccup cosplay - HTTYD 2 - WIP compilation (4/4) And we've made it to the last part (for now). This one will be covering Hiccup's prosthetic leg and his one boot. Same as before, please note, I have no idea what the actual terminology for some parts of this outfit is, I will use weird names lol. Feel free to ask questions.  Click the pics for caption corresponding to the notes underneath. Let's go~ PIC 1 - Prosthetic base - Prosthetic time!! I opted for easy way out of this I-have-two-feet-halp problem by just planning on wearing a black sock + black flats and pretending I dont have that extra foot;;;; I tried so many other ways to actually elevate my other foot enough to create a visible gap, but they all made me monstrously tall and not practical ;A; - Anyhow, the foot was made of MDP pieces, and a cardboard toilet roll with foam core discs inside for support 8'Db - Everything was then covered in worbla. The curved front part of the prosthetic is just one molded piece of worbla. - I also used strips and small balls of worbla to create the detail on the bar and make fake bolts on the side PIC 2 - Prosthetic painted - I didn't prime this one as much, since I wanted that grainy texture to show up in the paint. - It was then painted silver + weathered for effect. - then to make the part that actually goes over my leg, I heated two (stuck together) pieces of craft foam into a cylinder shape and worbla-ed over that to make it rigid. The prosthetic was then sewn directly into it. I purposely left slits in the design as you can see, to do so. - The cylinder opens at the back with velcro so I can slip my foot in! PIC 3 - Prosthetic with cover - The cylinder that goes around my leg is then wrapped in leather, and then using painted/weathered craft foam, I faked the 'metal' decoration on it. - Since I was on time constraints, I substituted metal buttons (painted over) for the bolts. I highly DO NOT recommend this as they caught on everything at the con and ripped out of the foam so easily >__> I lost the majority of it at the con. - Since then, I've remade the bolts with molded balls of worbla and stuck them on instead. - I always get asked at cons 'is that comfortable to wear?'. Answer is always a resounding "Not in the slightest 8'D"

PIC 4 - Puffy boot of extreme puffiness - The boot!! To make my totally-not-there-shhhh foot less obvious, I decided to pad out the boot. It helps that Hiccup's boots look massive anyway. - Using a simple cheap ugg boot base, I followed the seams on the ugg boot and used that as pattern and traced it onto cotton wadding (sleepy dog being not helpful) - the cotton wadding was then cut out and stuck onto the boot. Quite a few layers was added to make the boot super poofy~ - A simple boot cover using exactly the same pattern (but bigger) was made, and then glued down at the bottom and top - The top of the boot was a simple piece of leather, with threaded Xs for deco~ - the straps that go around his boot was glued on, so no moving when I walk around :Db THAT'S ALL FOR NOW! Part 1 - Inner shirt, scale vest and black top Part 2 - arm plates and pauldrons Part 3 - Vambraces and props

Hiccup cosplay - HTTYD 2 - WIP compilation (3/4) And we're back, this time to cover Hiccup's vambraces and the props on it! Same deal, please note, I have no idea what the actual terminology for some parts of this outfit is, I will use weird names lol. Feel free to ask questions.  Click the pics for caption corresponding to the notes underneath. Onwards~ PIC 1 - Vambraces base - Onto the sexy vambraces~ my fav part of the costume - A black base was made first with foam + felt, then covered in leather - for the brown flap thingys that go on top, I made a base out of foam (backed by felt) and felt edging, then covered that in brown leather. - I then calculated where the belts would go and cut slits for it first PIC 2 - Vambraces belts - Adding the belts. All belts on this costume is D ring style belts. - You could just sew the brown part directly onto the black. But since in the movie, Hiccup actually opens it to hide paper pages underneath, I opted for a button at the top and then snaps to hold it in place instead. PIC 3 - Hiccup's dagger - Hiccup's dagger! First, I made a base out of stacked foamcore and sanded the edge in. - Then worbla-ed over that (you can see the little compass in the back too~). Though the foamcore kept on melting thanks to the heat gun X___x I would actually recommend making the base out of wood or something - The dagger is then painted silver and weathered. For the sheath, in the design you can see the seam + stitch. So I just cut some scrap leather to shape, and using a simple looping stitch, stitched it together PIC 4 - Dagger and compass - Attached the dagger and compass onto the vambraces! - The compass is actually a real one I molded more worbla scraps over. - The sheath is held in place by the two studs that connect onto the belt too. - the compass is actually glued onto another piece of leather, then glued directly onto the vambrace. PIC 5 - Vambrace hand guards - Creating the hand guards for the vambraces is a similar thing to the arm plate before~

Hiccup cosplay - HTTYD 2 - WIP compilation (1/4) As promised before (a day late aha;;), I shall be uploading a series of WIP pics for my Hiccup cosplay. I hope this can serve as a guide for other potential Hiccup cosplayers! Please note, I have no idea what the actual terminology for some parts of this outfit is, I will use weird names lol. Feel free to ask questions.  Click the pics for caption corresponding to the notes underneath. Here we go~ PIC 1 - Green shirt / vest base - I started off with his green base shirt (it's hard to tell in reference pics, but it is two different greens). It's meant to be two layers but to make things lighter, I just attached fake sleeves of a different green 8'Db - Then for his scale vest, I first made a plain fitted (darts darts darts~) base for the scales to attach to later. PIC 2 - SCALES SCALES SCALES -SCALES HELL. SO MUCH HELL -Using paper templates, I estimated how big each scale had to be, then comes endless ENDLESS amounts of tracing, cutting, pressing and crying. Rinse and repeat till your soul leaves you. - Starting from the sides of the vest, the scales are arranged and sewn on row by row.. PIC 3 - Scale vest base -Scales attached! ;A; At this point I had reached 350+ scales;; I didn't bother going all the way to the top since it'll be covered by the black top anyway. - The overhanging scales were then trimmed back at the edges, back to the shape of the vest base. PIC 4 - Scale vest/back fin complete! - I cut out another piece of leather to act as the edging to the vest, and glued it in place first. - COMMENCE HAND STITCHING HELL (actually it's not too bad, it was kinda therapeutic). Awls are your best friend when working with leather. Buy an awl, you will be thankful later. - Then I punched in some eyelets at the front for the string to thread through and hold the front closed when wearing :Db - His back fin was just another piece of interfaced (so it would stand) leather that I hand stitched on too

PIC 5 - drafting the black bolero vest -Black bolero vest thingy time! - I used scrap fabric to suss out a pattern, then pulled the mock apart to use as real pattern for the leather, pretty straight forward there. - The leather bolero vest is actually interfaced, and upon realizing that interfacing alone is not enough to hold the shape I want, I lined it in black felt. Ghetto, but hey it works 8'D

PIC 6 - Detailing on the black bolero vest -Completed bolero vest base! It's hard to tell in pics but I actually took my awl and unpicker to it and scratched it up here and there for battle damaged look. - I then threaded thru some brown leather trim thingy in the sides and back, since it looks nice and it's actually part of the design too - two tabs with snap buttons at the bottom (and brass studs in the top), it helps to hold the vest together!

PIC 7 - Chest buckle strap -Giant buckle loop thingy of doom~ It's pretty much impossible to buy a buckle that big (from melb anyway), so I ended up molding it, and the thing it connects to, out of worbla. - I also molded the two extra big studs on the chest belt thingy out of worbla. - Completed bolero vest with the scale vest underneath!
