so i’ve only recently come to the realisation myself that children lose their teeth from like the ages 6-12, and just. thinking about dick grayson as robin but in his original age he was; imagine getting your shit rocked by a little boy in a bright yellow cape and then he smiles and he’s missing basically all his front teeth. 8/9 year old dick grayson trying to shit talk criminals and it’s all coming out with a lisp because his teeth have yet to grow in. not to mention the idea of when he gets a tad older like 11/12 and starts losing his back teeth and though they’re wobbly he refuses to pull them out or even try, because it means when him n batman are out on patrol he can get hit by a criminal, even lightly, which will either knock the already lose tooth out, or make it even looser in which he can purposely dislodge it with his tongue, start crying (which he can totally do on command cmon) about how “that was my new adult one!” then the criminal has to just look at this kid and think that he’s just knocked out an entire tooth. which of course catches the criminal off guard, meaning he can be arrested blah blah blah.

also thinking about damian losing teeth, given he was 10 when he moved in with bruce. damian going on his little rant about “he’s not your real son i am” and “that’s how it works in the assassins league” all with a little lisp. i find that very funny and very adorable. personally.

Forever haunted by Robb Stark as the perfect victim. His siblings see him as a brave, strong idol. His mother sees him as her baby boy, her first, and is plagued by memories of his as a newborn while watching him be proclaimed a king and lead an entire army at 16. And this is how the reader sees him, this is what we get from the fact he doesn’t have a pov, because we are supposed to solely see him from the eyes of others- the perfect victim. And then he dies, horrifically, forever martyred in the eyes of his siblings and followers. But Robb Stark was a martyr long before he ever died.

Thinking about the bear pit from Brienne’s POV and going a little crazy.

Like this guy who you never liked (the Kingslayer, the man who has twisted Knighthood and made it a joke) he saves you from being raped, loses his hand, and confesses to you the truth about why he killed the mad king.

And then he leaves.

He leaves you to go home and you’re stuck with the same horrible men who maimed this guy that has began to weasel his way into your psyche. But it’s fine because he’s gone now and you don’t have to deal with it.

And then he just freaking falls out of the sky and saves you from the bear. A knight saving the damsel. (And for once him the knight and you the damsel.) And when you ask him why he came all the way back just to save you he says, “I dreamed of you.”

Insane.

one of the things i wish the show emphasised more is how awful jaime pushing bran out of that window was, permanently paralysing him. cos obviously doing that to a child is awful but the emphasis on how ruined bran sees his life now in the books is something i wish was translated onto screen better, because he wanted to be a knight, he had always always dreamt of becoming a knight he had no desire to get married or become a lord, all that mattered was becoming like all of his idols and become knighted, and that’s something that now he will never be able to do, because one man laid a simple hand on his chest and pushed him. that’s a harrowing thing for an eight year old to go through and it’s something, because it goes so undiscussed in the show, that is so frequently forgotten. bran is so tragic!

Sometimes I stop and think about how Steve Toussaint would have acted his ass off during the “it should have been you!!!” scene from Fire & Blood and I get angry all over again.
