Headcanon: Remus didn’t fight for his life in the battle of Hogwarts. He moved recklessly and protected others with no regard for himself. Because in his mind, he had nothing left to live for. His wife and child were nothing compared to what was waiting for him in the afterlife.

I’m glad Remus died in the Battle of Hogwarts because honestly? Hot take: Remus would have been a shitty parent. He was so clearly not in love with Tonks he in the books and definitely not the movies. Bro was grieving the one person he had left for the final time in his life and he had nothing left to lose. You can’t enter parenthood with that mentality. By dying Remus got to finally let go of that life he was barely holding onto. Realistically speaking, I think if Remus wasn’t canonically necessary to the story he would’ve committed after Lily and James’s deaths and Sirius’s imprisonment. So again I’m glad Remus died, he finally got to see the people he really loved again.
