I had to make these firstly because I like having a unified aesthetic, and also because it wouldn't feel right interacting with most people who do "normal" userboxes here while being in their DNI list because I'm a proshipper BAHSHAH

I may write my full thoughts on pro/anti shipping one day (I think I have a very nuanced but understandable take on it), because it's not about what you like/don't like to consume (I personally don't enjoy reading incest or underage sex fics, for example), but the idea that "we should ban the bad (fictional) things" is VERY dangerous.

Who is "we"? Who has the power to ban it? Where do we draw the line? Incest, non-con and sexual fiction including minors obviously has to go, as it may romanticize it. BDSM too, of course, because it has sexual, violent and childish imagery. Everything that mentions sex should go, actually, to protect the children on the internet. And, I mean, sexuality, it's on the name. Queer people have to go. People of color and neurodivergent people too, since they can get pretty violent at times.

I don't think people realize that antishipping is not what it used to be. It didn't use to be political in some spaces (on TikTok, for a while, it just stood for problematic/dark shipping), but it HAS become political thanks to the current rise of fascism. How can someone be an antishipper after what's happened in the UK with the Online Safety Act? I'd say that's the first step, but it's actually worse than that, they locked ALL sexual content and made it so you're forced to consent to the government seeing your every move online, losing all sense of privacy. That's like five steps down the censorship pipeline!?

Yes, the “rape organ” is real.

Recently I have seen an uptick in transfeminists saying things like “a penis does not inherently make someone more able to commit sexual assault”. I’d like to push back on this because it’s so plainly wrong in my opinion.

Plain and simple, the penis is a weapon. Amab people are biologically equipped with a part that, when inserted somewhere, brings them pleasure, even if it hurts the receiving end. (This too goes for trans men who have received a phalloplasty, of course)

Those with vaginas often don't cum from penetration, meaning often penetrative sex is more about the pleasure of those with the phallus, effectively rendering the penetrated as a passive object for the penetrator’s pleasure. On top of that, people with a vagina don't have the possibility of effectivelly reversing roles and making people with penises into passive objects for their orgasm while not giving them one.

This is why the penis is more of a weapon, or as some would put it “the rape organ”.

Other people have rightfully called this out as bullshit, but I'll try to explain it step by step in case there's an IOTA of good faith in this argument.

“Plain and simple, the penis is a weapon.”

So is a notebook if someone hits you in the head with it. And “people with notebooks at hand are more likely to hit you with one than people without notebooks” is a “technically correct” sentence, but it is silly because it ignores how the real world works.

If we define a “rape organ” as “a part of the body that can be used to harm others sexually (with the rapist getting pleasure out of it)” then hands/fingers, tongues, eyes, boobs, thighs, ... AND vaginas could all count because they can all be used that way.

But you focus specifically on the penis because of some heavy assumptions about what happens during PIV sex:

For the person with the penis: “penetration = orgasm = pleasure”

For the person with the vagina: “= no orgasm = no pleasure = pain”

(During rape): “perpetrator = pleasure”, "victim = pain"

You also assume other things in this one sentence (like “amab” = penis at birth), but that's another can of worms.

But you also seem to forget many things (or omit them in a way your logical fallacy would lead to believing the opposite of):

Rape isn't automatically about the rapist's physical, sexual pleasure, or even about the victim's physical pain (it very often isn't, actually).

Not all sex is PIV, or just PIV. Not all rape is PIV, or just PIV.

Some people may not have the goal to orgasm during consensual sex. They may just want to be with their partner or give rather than receive pleasure. And that doesn't mean it's less enjoyable or unfair.

Some people may even enjoy it when sex is painful, and that doesn't make it rape.

On the other hand, some people may not experience pain and even orgasm during rape, and that doesn't make it consensual.

People with penises can get theirs hurt and be denied orgasms, even during PIV. And they can be rape victims regardless of sexual pleasure.

First of all, vaginas are NOT passive objects during anyone's orgasm. What the fuck (that's some internalized misogyny you got there to unpack). And even if they commit rape through PIV, refer to my first point because people with vaginas may not just aim towards “reversing the roles [of who gets the orgasm]” when raping someone.

And many, many, many other experiences that I may be too lazy to write down just for one reblog (if anyone reads this, feel free to expand!!).

The way you describe rape feels like this mindless, mechanical action. Like “just something people with penises commit”. Or, worse, “something just people with penises can commit”. Which is bioessentialist, transphobic (to both transfem, transneu and intersex people born with penises and transmasc, transneu and intersex people that got one through surgery later on), and misogynistic (because it parrots the idea that people without penises —which are often assigned, percieved and/or raised female— can do no wrong).

But let's ASSUME you know and understand everything I said above, and you were just trying to analyze the most common social trends regarding rape, at the cost of generalizing.

It does not make your argument any less false. It's the “appeal to probability” fallacy: taking something for granted because it is possibly the case.

“Penises are usually used by the perpetrator during rape, so it's accurate to call them rape organs”, both fails to understand why this is the case (cw: I'll be talking about male socialization soon enough, non-transphobic style) and retroactively puts the blame on something nobody had control over having or not when they were first born.

If people amab (which I'll be more specific and call perisex cishet men from here because transfems are already villainized enough), statistically rape the most it's because of the way our patriarchal society systematically sets them up to do so. They are raised into the Men sociopolitical class, taught to be leaders (forgetting how to be empathetic), to be competitive (deprived from community), to set goals and achieve (if they're attracted to someone, they see them as an object to be conquered), and a large etcetera.

Cis men are not evil because they have a penis and identify as men. They can easily unlearn their bigotry and be normal human beings, which is the case with many cis men. A lot of them are evil because they feel entitled to their position, and see different people fighting for their rights as a threat to their position. And they happen to have penises (which is why they were assigned that role in society at first).

On the other hand, people who fall into the Other sociopolitical class (either because they were born into it or were left behind for not fitting the masculine mold) are taught they are weak, and that they won't achieve anything on their own, etc.

Feminism has been trying to fight against that division because it's arbitrary bullshit. Genitals only define whether you're first thrown into a role or the other, but to have the privilege of remaining in the first group, one must UPHOLD those ideas or make others in their group believe one upholds those ideas (which is not much of a privilege if, for example, one must stay closeted or detransition for it to work, etc., you get the gist).

And upholding patriarchal ideas is not something we want to do as a community, right??

We're above thinking differently of people because of their gender or sex, for better or for worse, because we know in actuality how someone behaves is a result of what they chose (not) to unlearn, right???

We know blaming an organ (something that cannot think on its own) for stuff people do takes away their responsibility, RIGHT!??!?!? Raping someone is a conscious act. We are not animals that “can't control themselves.” The idea of a “rape organ” is absurd!!

as a tme person with a transfeminine sister it is extremely clear to me that we absolutely do not have an equivalent experience.

she did not experience "male socialization." when i look back on our childhood, it is easy to understand that there was no privilege to that concept. she was forced to try and shrink herself into the shape of a man, and was abused when she didn't succeed at playing the part. being "raised as a boy" only highlighted the stark incongruity between what was expected of her and what she was. this repeatedly led to her facing violence.

Your reaction of rage comes from a place of fear that I can only really pity. I have been harassed on the streets, twice in the last year; I've even been stabbed before. I've been called slurs, sexually objectified, all of it.

But, the fact of the matter is the stats just don't add up. Trans men are not consistently paid significantly more than us, statistically they are just as likely to be attacked, sexually assaulted, murdered, or driven to suicide. I have witnessed the results and aftermath of each, and it's impossible to hold resentment against them once you've seen it, really seen it.

You can react with all the rage you want, a response no doubt driven by fear; but it won't heal you, it just makes the scars cut deeper. You deserve to live a life not ruled by fear and anger.

It does not demean our own experiences to accept that trans men and nonbinary people are as oppressed as we are; it should actually give you hope. Once you accept that we're all in this sinking ship together, that just means more hands are there to fix it.

Lashing out at other victims isn't feminism, it just isn't. All it is is a trauma response; and someday you'll look back and feel you could've done better. Don't live life in a way you'll regret.

I have been told by “Trans radical feminists” that transmascs are all rapists. I'm sorry to break it to you, but transmascs have NOT been listened to historically more than other minorities. Like, ESPECIALLY not HISTORICALLY. If people don't believe trans men are men now, just imagine when feminism was just starting out as a movement. When Women (as a class including those who did not identify with the label but were forced into it) were not listened to in general, and could not go to work or vote or have a voice. There is a REASON transmasculinity is so linked to feminism, because feminism is the only way to give women the right to body autonomy, which lets "women" wear pants, cut their hair... and become men towards society. The concept barely existed as a viable option before that. If they barely listened to feminist women, they'd listen even less to feminist transmascs (who they viewed as more radical feminist women, because they didn't just want freedom, they wanted to become part of the Men social class).

And if we look into queer movements instead of feminist movements, you'll see transmasculinity is linked mostly to lesbianism and butches (because of the same reason of being thrown into the Women class), but their voices are not heard at all inside or outside those fights. There are very little transmasc stories you can read because they are ACTIVELY ERASED from historical records.

Transmasc erasure is a THING. Transmasc invisibility is a THING.

I personally am not into kinks like cnc / age-play / animal-play / fauxcest etc. either, so explicit fiction involving kid × adult, incest, zoophilia, etc. do nothing to me and I don't read them (unless I think it'll have some sort of social commentary of deeper prychological analysis, because I find those really interesting).

But, and especially noncon, kid × adult and incest fics, 9/10 times are written for and by victims as a way to explain and explore their eperiences through the eyes of characters they relate to. Sociopolitical classes are the result of what is called "social stratification", which divides people into categories of "social worth" based on factors like sex assignment, gender presentation and identity, wealth, skin colour, physical and intellectual ability, country or culture of origin, religion, etc.

Those in the highest sociopolitical standing would be cis het monogamous men who are white, physically and mentally non-disabled, neurotypical, wealthy, and not immigrants. There are other factors, but this is essentially the top of the food chain.

The hierarchy isn't a single vertical ladder, but more like a pyramid. The more of these factors differ from the societal ideal, the lower in the pyramid you are placed. And your place in this pyramid determines your access to things like education, jobs, social programs, and also determines how authority figures that govern the system categorize you and treat you. ie black men are perceived as more dangerous and violent than white men, despite there being little to no empirical evidence for this.

So sociopolitical class Men is reserved for cisgender men, and transgender men are seen as trying to "claim" power the system deems them unentitled to. Not only do trans men not get access to this class, they are often further punished for trying to claim masculinity, particularly because queer masculinity is not accepted as "true masculinity" by the system. The argument that trans men receive privelege for identifying as men ignores this fact. Trans men are only afforded the sociopolitical class of men when they are assumed to be cis (which requires access to a full regimen of transition tools like Testosterone and surgery), which ignores and erases their identity as trans.

It also for the most part to excludes men of colour, disabled men, cis men who are gender-nonconforming, and men who otherwise do not fit into the patriarchal standard of cisgender masculinity. Even a man who fits the patriarchal ideal but rejects toxic masculinity and male superiority can be ejected from the dominant social class for non-conformity.

First of all, to state the obvious, putting nonbinary into two gendered boxes is fucking bullshit. I am not a cat I do not enjoy your box.

And what I haven't seen discussed is how placing "afab nonbinary" people as transmisogyny exempt makes genuinely no fucking sense and really shows what this is really about.

The "logic" behind the two boxes is basically "oh all transmascs are men and therefore are treated as men by society so aren't affected by misogyny". This is untrue but at least can make some logical sense of it if you fully ignore how the world actually works. But then when you say that "afab nonbinary" people are also transmisogyny exempt...

What's the logic? Do you think that someone who naturally has female sex characteristics who dresses feminine but is still nonbinary isn't effected by misogyny and transphobia? Do you think that all nonbinary people born female are just "transmasc-lite" and should therefore be put in the same box.

And don't think I'm leaving intersex people out of this either. An intersex person who was assigned female at birth but went through a masculine puberty, then later in life chose to identify as nonbinary and present feminine would be put in the "afab nonbinary" box. In reality, because they went through masculine puberty they would likely be perceived as a trans woman and go through the struggles of one. This person would still be considered transmisogyny exempt by this rigid system.

This goes to show that this system is fucking bullshit and we need to stop using it in our community.

About semantics and how they're used to justify hate

Let me show you a series of related words that come up in trans spaces around trans men and the struggles they face:

-transmisogyny- -transandrophobia- -transmisandry-

Transmisogyny is, in essence, the compound of suffering misogyny and transphobia at the same time, and how those two discriminations intersect into something new.

Transandrophobia is the discrimination towards transmasc individuals specifically.

Transmisandry, while having etymological roots in mysoginistic and anti-feminist political movements, is generally a word defined by those who use it as the discrimination against transmasc individuals. So, same as transandrophobia, essentially

Now, I wanna make it really clear: I'm writing that down because I know for many people those definitions don't stand true, and because YOU SHOULDN'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT ANY OF IT.

I am a firm believer that bad actors reveal themselves really quickly when talking about the specific meaning of certain words. In the case of some TRFs (I'm going to freely use that word to refer to them, but let's acknowledge not everyone who I'm calling out identifies with the label) here on Tumblr, the weaponization of semantics surrounding these three words is very important to their core arguments and strength.

You'll see stuff like:

"Transmisogyny can not affect trans men because they are men. This is an incorrect use of the term."

This type of argument is an obvious weaponization of:

Sure, trans men are, indeed, men. But to society at large, they simply aren't, so they suffer the effects of misogyny. When you point this out, TRFs will straight up tell you trans men have the same structural benefits as cis men. (idiotic and blatantly wrong argument)

Onto the next argument, when discussing transmisandry, you'll see stuff like:

"Transmisandry is a dog whistle. It has etymologically worrying origins in anti-feminist movements"

This is yet another example of weaponizing:

While the second part of the argument is true to my knowledge, people continuously use this word for completely different reasons that aren't anti-feminist or an attack on trans women at all. It's disingenuous to shut down everyone who simply uses the word instead of analysing situations on a case-to-case basis.

When people use transandrophobia to avoid using the more etymologically problematic transmisandry, this argument will come up:

"Trans men don't suffer discrimination on the basis of being men. They suffer discrimination on the basis of being trans. You're making up unnecessary words to describe plain transphobia."

It shouldn't be remarkable that trans men's struggles differentiate themselves enough from trans women's to have a label to refer to it as. I'm not gonna get into it both because I am not a trans man and don't want to speak on the matter (plenty of stories online for you to read from actual transmasculine people), but also because any argument against this should be considered braindead bad faith politically-motivated IDIOCY.

PEOPLE WHO USE SEMANTICS TO WIN ARGUMENTS TEND TO DO SO BECAUSE IT'S EASIER TO MAKE EVERYONE ELSE SEEM BAD THAN TO DEFEND THEIR OWN ARGUMENTS.

Language is flexible, and people use the same words for different things. Using language as a catch-all to determine someone is a bad person disregards the actual intent of people's arguments and eliminates nuance in discussion.

While there is a point to make about how badly-phrased arguments can accidentally hurt people, I trust that is a situation where both parties can talk about it and fix the issue. What happens with TRFs and the examples I've given is not that. It's blatant transandrophobia, and it's done in bad faith.
