If You're Going to San Francisco
In the past two years I have been on an airplane more than I have been in my entire life. Traveling via airplane was a novelty growing up, being that my family preferred to do it the old fashioned way and load up into our family van and trek across the country (which does come with it's own wonderful memories and perks).
However, it makes me giddy with excitement everytime I print out my boarding pass, clear through security and head to my gate. There is a romantic quality about flying. It might be because movies always have that crucial scene when they guy is running through the airport to stop his one true love from leaving (but let's be real, a true lover would let his girl chase after her dreams and not hold her back--but I'll touch on that later).
Rather than chase me through the airport, me and my special someone decided to pack up and head to the west coast together--San Francisco. I had never been there before, and being an East Coast girl through n' through I was eager to see what this beautiful city had to offer. Man was I impressed.
We booked our reservations through www.airbnb.com, which turned out to be a huge success. We stayed in a cozy one bedroom apartment in the Lower Pacific Heights area which is known for some really gorgeous victorian townhomes and views of the city.
Because our time there was limited, we set out to hit everything we could. We hopped in an Uber and asked our drive to drop us off somewhere he loves to go. So we ended up at Fisherman's Warf which provided a gorgeous sunset view.
The next morning, we ate at Chow at the Park (right off of Golden Gate Park). The place was all natural, organic, and probably had some of the best potatoes I have ever eaten. I felt so strongly about the meal I insisted on standing up to take a picture of our wonderful meal.
Next Stop: Golden Gate Park (Japanese Tea Garden). The Sencha Green Tea was slightly sweet and just warm enough for our perfectly brisk walk in the park.
I really recommend dating someone you can travel with. It makes life that much more colorful.
